Chapter 2 of Conan Exiles is here! And here are the best Single Player settings for the game! I'll cover all the settings that I use on my solo games, as well as the features in the admin panel. With all the new players out there, I wanted to provide a guide to help you enjoy the game and get a bit of help along the way. This is a NO MOD solution, so the tips here should work for PC and console game play. Go ahead, make Conan your game!

Excellent as usual Yuli, as you said hey it's your game, make it what you want to be. Some excellent tips and ideas for the solo Barbarian. I would add just 1 thing. Like you I leave the purge on , hey free thralls right 🙂 Unfortunately there are a couple of purges that at level 6 will absolutely destroy everything you have made/recruited unless you have a lot of experience in the game. This is because they are located in the "medium" purge areas yet at L6 can draw the toughest foes in the game such as the rocknose boss Landslide (who killed off 8 of my fully leveled T4 exile thralls at the Hand of the Maker), with only a Lian standing bloody and victorious after the onslaught. Keep on keeping on my friend you have the ability to distill stuff down to the things we want to know about

Thanks for this detailed explanation. I have set a Singleplayer session for testing and made a royal screw up with the settings for taming and crafting. The descriptions were misleading for me. Thanks to you I can modifi a few mor options I didn't try out until now.

I love this! Your video was super helpful as some on Xbox as our settings give no descriptions of what they actually do, just the sliders. Now I actually know what some of these things do!

One thing I just learned watching one of Firespark's videos in regards to the progression tab, if you bump the XP Rate down to 0.5 and bump the XP kill Rate up to 2.0 this will keep your player at it's normal XP kill rate at it's "default 1.0" setting so that if you don't want to level up to fast but will allow your follower thrall/s to level up twice their normal speed. If you leave your XP rate setting at default 1.0 and only bump up your kill rate to 2.0 or higher then both you and your follower thrall/s will gain increased kill speed XP at that level you set. I see this as coming in handy for leveling up purge thralls then moving those settings back to default when not leveling up purge thralls.

So in the end I had to leave my server play and go Single. // In some way my settings messed everything up big time, and I didn't understand where and what to do to solve it. I am an "old gamerz never die" chic from Scandinavia so technology talk in English doesn't always make sense to me! I did my best, but that wasn't enough. Then you came by with this terrific video. I followed your instructions and that solved every trouble I had 💯. Now my Conan play is both smooth and fun ... and with you saying: Make it what You want to be, the sun started to shine over me again. 💃☀
Wow! This was such a wonderful comment to wake up to this morning! I had to get my wife to read it too, because it actually choked me up a bit, in a good way. My main reason for starting all this was to help people (especially us "seasoned" folks) to be able to enjoy playing games again, so this comment really got me in the heart. I am so happy I could help you to have fun again with a game that I love to play!
Thank you for the tip about "harvest multiplier-crafting cost", I was thinking about that as well, and will probably use it again in future. I plan to set crafting cost to somewhere between 0.50 to 0.67 (from half to two thirds of cost), while contemplating to even the scales by reducing harvest amout to 0.5 - 0.67 as well
It's a great way to keep from staying encumbered, especially early game, when you can't afford to be out of stam! 🤣

Not sure if it is patched but, if you have your crafting cost down real low you can craft structure pieces and then break them and they refund the intended number of resources instead of the modified number. In essence you could place 1 foundation, break it to place 2, break 1, place 2, etc

My biggest issue with ANY pc game is that I'm a Lefty.
I am so tired of asking about left handed keyboard mapping and get some knob telling me, "just play it right handed like everybody else".
That's not helpful, it's rude and unnecessary.
I have forgotten to click the Converted Thrall button multiple times!. lol
My best friend for many years ( DeadNoMore, who appears in some of my vids) is left handed, as is my son in law. I would be too, except I grew up in a time where if you were a lefty, you were "corrected" thru childhood to be right handed. So I'm a mix, do some things right handed, some left, some I'm ambidextrous. So yeah, the world is better for Lefty's, but long way still to go.

Thrall crafting time multiplier can't be manually set on console it's either 0 or 0.5
Thanks for that clarification. When I was playing on console, it was on a private server, and I could change that setting in the server settings there.
Yea only can decrease or increase by 0.5
It's a really annoying thing tbh, would be nice to adjust settings by 0.1 instead of 0.5

Meow, I'm new to Conan, and this vid will help me a lot. That being said, there were a few setting I wish you would have given more detail on. 1) I play for many hours at a time, so more info about "Item Spoil Rate" would be helpful. 2) Does disabling "Building Abandonment" also disable "Building Decay"? If not, what would be a good adjustment to greatly slow down "Building Decay"? Thank you for this great vid, I have liked and subbed. Love the channel name BTW, 51 yrs old, Female gamer here. 👍😺

Conan has gone thru a lot of changes over they years, but to answer your questions 1) if you adjust the number in the spoil timer down, items should spoil slower 2) if you turn off building abandonment, then your buildings will no longer decay. If you leave building abandonment turned on, the decay timer starts. They higher the number, the longer the decay rate, but I usually max it at 1 month on my servers... so that people who are gone for vacations and such dont have their items decay while being gone for a few weeks. If they dont play for a month, then they are giving up their stuff to make room for other players. Hope that helps you out :) And welcome to the community!

While it's true you hit level cap very quickly with normal settings and I leave them alone until I do, after I hit 60 I often bump up kill xp because your xp is how thralls level and it can be very slow.

I like to set player damage values higher while taking a little less damage. By default, enemies are damage sponges that hit hard in groups but my settings make combat much deadlier but more tactical. It also gives bows a chance to shine since you can pick off enemies. Bosses are still pretty hard too which i like.
For harvesting i feel like 1.5 is perfect for the harvest multiplier. I actually turned down the resources respawnc speed.
Small crafting speed boosts all round. I halved the costs on crafting.
All good tweaks! I think experimenting with the settings are the best way of making the SP game both challenging and fun. It really does let you cater to your play style, once you understand which direction to turn the knob, and which things interact with each other (like harvest amount and crafting cost)

me and my girlfriend have just started playing it for the first time so we're new to everything I'm just afraid that later on in the game the game will get too easy? Is that something I should worry about? For example I just got a greater hyena and I'm in the starting area and it just seems to tank everything fine does it get a lot harder late game? Also your settings for combat sound very good is there any way you could share them?
Tweaking the food decay timer also impacts the time it takes for the pet snake/bird eggs to hatch and they have a 24 hour playtime by default.

Started playing conan about a couple weeks now. I am curious to play online instead of Single player is there a format that is better geared towards newer players?
There are lots of groups running dedicated servers for their community. That may be a good way to dip your toe into multiplayer if you find the right community. I run servers for the OG community that are PvE and have a good group of helpful players. Just follow the link to the OG discord for details, it's free. If you want to go the Official route, I'd start with PvE, at least then you only have to fight the creatures and not other players. Hope that helps you on your journey! 🙂

I have binded shortcuts 7 and 8 to Q so i can equip both sword and shield and i have also binded thumb button 1 to shortcut 6 to equip my skinning blade, I have block on thumb button 2. My only issue is I'll still have my sheild equipped, so when i press Q again to equip my sword I'll unequip the shield 😂, you can press Q 4 times to fix this or just select another weapon such as the bow and then press Q
Interesting set up! Yeah, changing keybinds is a must have in a game, at least in my book.

Do you need online for the game to work? I don’t want to buy it if I’m just gona take it back
You CAN play Conan without internet, but there are a few caveats. When you launch the game, it will tell you that you are not connected to the Internet, just hit OK and select Single Player. That is the only mode that will be available, and it will ONLY be the base game, so dlc items, maps (like Siptah) won't be available, since Funcom can't see your connection to verify the content is something you purchased.
I lower the exp rates by 50% on single player and increase enemy stats by 25%. The grind is the best part of single player. Once you hit 60 there's really not much to do
Yeah... I hear ya, and I am the same way, for me.. the grind is the fun part especially at the lower levels... when you feel like you are really achieving something. The settings I have here are for those folks that just get tired of the grind, but still want to play. On Single Player, a lot of folks are just doing it to learn the game mechanics. Ive had several people start with this then come to my servers to experience either vanilla play thru or more high level modded stuff.

@@JCA1009 yes it is like an RPG and survival game all in one.. Do all the bosses find the story and hidden eggs. unlock all the sorcery and build amazing buildings. Tame all the animals
Increase enemy stats by fifty percent and now you have dark souls with extra steps

Is there a way to use the typing you did here on console? Like setting it at 0.00 would be instant or no?
Unfortunately, from what I'm hearing from other console players, there's only a slider for a lot of settings.

I set them to just guard, and I tried with one to get them xp print yet it didn't work
@@justinbell2166 I havent played a lot with Age of War, but as far as Ive experienced, Thralls only get XP when you have them following you. Then, depending on the perks you have selected, they will share the xp you get. If they are just at your base on guard, they dont gain any xp, no matter what they fight.
hi, Purge options does not comes up for me like in the video, where there changes to the settings of it in the game after your video been made? /sorry i just started to play with the game last week, so i am quite fresh to it. thy
Unfortunately, the answer is that Funcom completely revamped the Purge feature of the game during the Age of War, which has frustrated many players out there. Personally, with the changes during that period, the game became a mish mash of failed launches and roll backs, so I stopped playing. I wish you the best in your adventures.. it was a fun game for a very long time, and, if Funcom ever gets it fixed and makes it fun to play again, I may come back. For now, I cant really give any advice on purges as I dont know the state that they currently exist, if at all (at one point I believe I heard that they only happened when the player "summoned" them).

18:00 I do care about Land Claim Radius Multiplier, I think, and I only play Solo. IIRC this means trees (resources) close to your base will disappear. I don't want the trees to disappear. And if we're in Admin mode why is this greyed out but later it isn't?
You are correct, this setting can impact respawn radius for when a foundation destroys nodes. Resources WILL still spawn within the claimed area, but they will be disabled around foundations. The same setting is also used in mult-player to avoid other players/ groups placing their foundations within your claimed area. Be careful not to adjust this too low or rocks will spawn on top of your thralls that may be placed outside of you base's walls for protection. .35 multiplier should give you the best of both worlds

Can you change the settings after starting a single player game? Or do I need to restart? I'm on console and I can't seem to figure it out
I typically play on PC these days, but back when I was playing on PS4, we changed settings for harvest rates, xp gains etc without having to reset, and I change settings on my single player game on PC all the time (it's the instance I use for my videos). Which settings are you wanting to change and what kind of issues are you having?

Does the day night scaling affect respawns duration?
Not that Ive noticed.. its basically on its own timer.. so if you change the mulitplier on respawn, it just speeds up or slows down the "game hours" for the item to respawn.

As a console player i thought id be fine with these settings cause i used to play ark loads and acc started playing conan for first time now cause bored of ark and settings alot more confusing than expected. Mostly due to not knowing if higher numbers will increase or decrease things like how long food decays and stuff and also cant pick numbers manually like on pc always in 0.5 scaling
Hope this helps, at least directionally. It's definitely not intuitive. I hate that console is limited from more done tuning, was one of the reasons I moved to PC years ago. My wife has an Xbox, and I've tried to play there, but just don't have the muscle memory for a controller anymore.
@OldGamerzNeverDie yh it helped alot cause some of the settings are completely fine but it's just mostly the scaling ones cause on console u can't even hover over the setting where it will explain the setting a bit so almost forced to just throw urself in there and change it as u go or end up looking up the settings

how do you deal whit boses in SP? if you don't change damage done?
I tend to run with my authority max perk at Well Trained (which boosts all thralls) and corrupt the first point (which gives me Frenzy so each thrall does 3% more damage, which stacks, or at least it did last time I played), then run with 3 zombies (cuz they count as 1 follower). They can mow thru just about any boss out there. I have some streams where I take my "Supremez" in against the Red Mother and I just let em go. They do get pretty worn down with the Snake boss though, he hits HARD. Up to the point where I can get to zombie crafting in Sorcery, I try to get a good T4 Fighter thrall to run with. You can get some good ones from the cave at Sinner's Refuge.
I don't know if my game is bugged but the thrall timer barley moves and it was half way once and then it reset itself. Do i need to quit the game everytime i try and tweek the server settings?
Yes, and if you already put a thrall in the wheel, it will take the time it was set to take when you put it in, changing settings will only impact future thralls time in the wheel

Still not sure if I should give this game a try, this or "Black Desert Online", even though I'm not into MMOs/RPGs, it still looks interesting, but there's lots of stuff here that's not my cup of tea, like no real story to follow, I might get bored very quickly
I've played both, and I've found Conan to be more challenging and immersive than Black Desert. They introduced a more structured Journey Step system with this chapter which does help new players along with a loose storyline but the decisions are always your own. It's currently on sale on Steam right now, so the price point is better,and you only need the base game to play, battle pass and dlc give you more eye candy but are not required to experience the whole game. Plus, if you're on PC, the mods always add flair and are free.

On ps5 on my single player world night never happens i dont know what wrong with it
Still never happens with the settings I have in this video? How long have you been playing in SP? Remember that time stops when you are not online, so it can seem like it never happens if you have really long days set up. What do you currently have them set to?

I only have partial nudity on xbox - location set to Great Britain...but I remember playing this game couple of years ago and it was allowing full nudity.
PC version has full as an option. But even on servers that have it set to full, your personal preference is what you see.. but I know consoles PS and XBox only do partial.

It's good just playing a horror game
well , it would been more easily remembered if you would not say speed when its actualy a time setting.
speed is how fast so increasing makes it faster
time is how long so increasing it will make it slower

@@OldGamerzNeverDie some games have them non consitently named, even in same tab having some named wrong (meaning speed but naming time and viceversus) , causing confusion in new'ish players
stil a good video, i personaly set time experience to minimum i can in games cause i want to earn experience, but i mostly play single, yes even in mmo's. don't like to depend on somebody (if i fail then its me who messed up) or to be depended on by somebody (if i fail then i failed only myself)

We dont have a purge menu on console
Sorry about that, its been a very long time since Ive been on console, and Ive gotten feedback that some of these settings are either missing or just dont work on console (no matter what you set them to). Its unfortunate that companies like FunCom continue to skimp on console playability, especially with the latest generation of consoles out there.

Are you playing on console or pc, and what country? US consoles never had full as an option. Not sure about other countries.

I'll have to look at what they have done with the purges in Age of War... imo Funcom kinda screwed them up. The vid was done much earlier... but let me go check and see. Yep.. its no longer an option. Used to be in server settings.
@@OldGamerzNeverDie Its changed. Now you build a vault ingame, based on its content (riches) it will attract purge of corresponding intensity. So small riches attracts small purge.

Thats because I moved the crafting cost to be less expensive. That way you dont get encumbered with a 10x harvest on the first swing of an axe.

You babble too much with minutes wasted on explaining things like nudity or graphics settings. All you should be doing is explaining server settings. Basicly, write a script out and you can cut this down to about 10 minutes of relevant content.
Thanks for the feedback, it's always a balance since I get many more comments that appreciate the detail that I go into.
