Only good thing l could see was the lotus burner, other than that, them just seem to be a expensive toy
Thanks, @Angelovizk! All valid points, there are definitely improvements needed to make golems more attractive. Pending how easily you find the parts or Blood Crystals needed to craft, they might still be ok as backup or as disposable follower as they don't need to be levelled, get gear or any other kind of maintenance.
I actually use my golems as tanks to agro bosses while I do damage. They don't heal, but I also don't craft parts. I have so many parts from trying to level up sorcery, and get a level 3 and level 4 sorcerer that I've only ever crafted a single arm and I've made a few golems. They're also useful for taking with you when you don't want to take a low level thrall, but you don't want to take a thrall that you don't want to die...like a good one when you're being risky in the snow biome. Although the "raise corpse" mechanic seems alot better for exactly what I just described and they'll literally as easy and dragging any level combat thrall to the burial spot. So, if you're wanting some OP harvester or combat then golems aren't the way to go, but I find them useful still.
I mostly use them as a cheap army for purge defense, make em all with scythe or sword arms (axe tends to get badly stuck blocking) and make all the stone ones with explosive jar heads. Also a really good way to use them is make a bunch of tar golems on the bottom floor of a ceiling base, can really slow raiders down and buy you time
Great video ! I havent been able to put items into the almost 30 golems ive made this week to harvest ! Always something broken in this game ! I always start and intend for a long game sesh but always stop premature because of something not working.
Thank you! This sounds indeed frustrating, there's really always something. Just to confirm, you put the items into the Harvest inventory, not the regular one? They also don't accept every item, but I guess you didn't put anything too exotic in it. Just tried it with a few golems we have and it worked. Are you playing on PC or console, any mods? Other than that, it also depends which golem can do what, so for example you couldn't drag stones into the inventory of the skinning (sword) golem - but I'm sure you've already tried all kinds of things yourself.
@@Pixelcave correct i put it into the harvest section! I think it might be the server atm! Im on console unfortunately! Thanks for advice! Always appreciated!
The tar option is good for fighting fast enemies while using a bow as it slows them down. It sucks trying to place them to guard an area as I keep getting a collision message. It sucks most of all as my friend cringes every time I try and take one along because it always winds up getting an aggro from his thralls and they fight each other. Wish they would fix that.
Getting aggro from your own followers is really one of the worst issues, we experienced once again during our Golem vs Purge video and had to put at least 5 Golems down due to it. Not sure Golems are high on their priority list at the moment though, one can only hope they do a good pass on all the related issues at one point to make them more viable.
@@Pixelcave The onlt thing we've found that works is to individually change each participants behaviour to "Attack Nothing" and after they are all set then reset their behaviours to normal but having to do that micromanaging after each and every fight is nothing short of monotonous. I wonder if you get the two followers perk and you brought along on thrall and one golem if they would still fight each other?
Interesting workaround, but as you said, tedious to do every time. Not sure the War Party perk changes anything, I believe I saw others with that set-up but still having issues. Didn't think about the behaviour change, so that's definitely good to know (R.I.P to our other 5 Golems, haha!).
I was gonna put all this off until i actually started on some of the sorcery stuff i missed out on... But honestly this seems way too useful. Could have him harvesting the iron while im harvesting the wood when im grinding by my arena outpost. Or vice versa. Im sure it wouldnt be perfect but it would make it more interesting
Thanks pixelcave, another quality video! Great info and presentation. One question, do you know if all of the sorcerers are still around in the exiled lands in AoW? (I know that the camp near the savannah is deleted but I was wondering about the other locations as these are one of the best ways to get parts). Also I wish that they would make parts dismantle able.
Thank you! Sorcerer NPCs in the various camps will stay. I think I noticed one Sorcerer that was removed in New Asagarth (next to the Chieftain), so they might have thinned them out a little - but tbh, most other camps I've been to seemed unchanged (I can't remember every single Sorcerer of course). Since you started playing mid AoS you might not know it, but there were less Sorcerers in the Exiled Lands before Chapter 2 - I thought they'd added more due to the Headhunting caravans and would remove some once those are gone - but it doesn't seem so. So slay away!
i dont know if this has been covered or answered yet but i discovered something about my stone golem it was harvesting stone and had taken like 200 damage and was sitting at 8800/9000 but about an hour later it some how healed up with only stone and a stack of 30 iron ore harvested into its inventory and it was somehow sitting at 9055/9000 health i'm not sure if thats a bug or not but it through myself and my friends for a complete loop we was not expecting that to happen and it was not on follow just guarding
Should be a visual display bug. Experienced that ourselves and have seen several reports from other players about it. Usually it should correct itself over time, but it's pretty random. Golems definitely need some development love as they are still very glitchy. Let's hope the bugs and stuttering get ironed out over time, at least they have finally fixed the inflammable tar pool (live with AoW).
Thank you for the video! I watched it two or three times. Lol. And started playing with guardians. Not being able to regenerate health. I noticed they’re actually getting low pretty quick if you go after things like the king rhino or the Silvermine. When I take them through a transport stone it looks like their health doubles or triples. I saw one go over 40,000. But it comes back down to where it was last, lower than hoped. I was trying to go up the mountain from stargazer toward the volcano. And it seemed a certain point they didn’t want to go any further. Is there a cold issue? And yet in this video I see them near the ice giant dungeon, and that’s where I wanted to end up to harvest elephant hide and feline pelt. The sword arm also indicates that it can collect skeleton keys. is there anything like star metal where the extra step of killing something like the king rhino has to happen first? Or can they go harvested on their own? But they take too much damage. Similarly I gave a scythe arm golem a worker bee. He collects fiber and berries and Azura plants (thinking each one of these as harvestable). I’ve never seen a bee. I think I saw bugs once but that’s not actually harvestable. Thanks again. Oh, I also wanted one to carry some legendary weapons like a bow and the golem tried to use the bow. I just don’t know how successful it was.
Thank you, great to hear the guide is helpful! The health going up is an occasional bug (which apparently has not been fixed yet), it should however only be a visual display issue, and I don't believe the Health is actually increased. Never heard of any Cold issue, but you never know - maybe it was the terrain and Golem didn't find a path it could follow? Very weird indeed. They can collect Skeleton Keys indeed, I think all of them can, but of course they won't go out and kill bosses independently. Except for Star Metal I can't think of any other resource that requires you to do anything first - and the whole harvesting part is still pretty buggy and you still need to be in range. I never heard of a Golem using a Bow, that shouldn't be possible, the only weapon they use is the Arm they have been built with - are you sure about that?
@@Pixelcave It'll be a few hours before I can verify for sure. But we had discussed setting them for ranged weapons and the bow. I'll report what happens. Thanks!

But it's interesting that this - in combination with the "pink frame" might have led you to believe it's an older video. So thanks for the additional feedback!
That can come in handy in darkness, true, but still not a big selling point. Nonetheless, the more part options there are, the better. Really hoping they introduce more with future updates. Would be nice to have them work at crafting stations or similar things.
Not sure what exactly that scenario would be, but there needs to be a player in render distance for them to be active. That could even be your neighbor - if close enough - when you are offline. Or someone passing by. But you couldn't be logged off with your body in range, no.
No, as explained in the video, unfortunately Golems can't be healed. Once they lose all their HP they are dead - make sure to harvest them for resources if they die.
If no player is in range, a Golem won't be active (at least for now, they said they might change that in future). I also believe the other player would need to be dead, not just be unconscious. It's unclear if Golems harvest players' corpses though, personally we haven't tried it yet - would be interesting to know.
@@Pixelcave going over in my head how i could potentially make a t2 / t3 material factory, factoring in golem render distance survivability etc , im also not sure how close u can build to things without disability the resource node generation and just use a afk account to passively generate
Yeah, it's strange that it's not possible, after all they could still have a lotus buff torso or tar/brimstone parts to be semi useful, and would make for good deco. 😆
Am finding that you don’t need to be specific with the inventory items, simply putting stone in there my golems will harvest stone iron and coal. Master Haague ( golem sculptor at Meeks spire) only sells crystalline bodies and empty crystalline arms. And with the last few patches before age of war I’m no longer finding golem parts anywhere near as often, as when 3rd age dropped, in fact I haven’t found any further crystalline parts in last 4 weeks from any chest, dungeon or 1 skull or 3 skull bosses!
@GodSmote You have a good point there, while the Golem will only get Iron and Coal as byproducts when targeting Stone, it actually seems to be impossible to focus on Iron without having the inventory fill up with Stone in any case. Just tested it again by putting Iron in the target slot, and the Golem still harvests Stone (as there's a chance to get Iron from it), which is pretty silly - one would have hoped the Golem then at least only picks up the Iron and not the rest... sigh. Regarding Master Carver Huang, he actually sells other parts as well, all the special Golem parts you can find as loot (Radium Head, etc.). You might never have seen them though, as his item rotation is on a fairly long timer and resets every time if you restart a server or log into a single-player game. I haven't paid attention to loot in the current live game, but I can confirm that Golem parts are still often found as loot on the Public Beta Client - I actually found them very frequently in all kinds of chests, even wooden ones - so hopefully that's still the case once the update goes live.
@@Pixelcave thank you that explains why I’m not seeing anything other than the crystalline empty arm and torso from master carver Huang, as server is reset every 24 hours to stop stuff breaking. This is currently happening in kuraks dungeon where it will glitch either part way though spider wave or on golem wave, which eventually results in a daemon being summoned as either one of the magi fails to appear during there wave. And yes I’m still finding golem parts in world just not anything crystalline
That makes sense, I can't believe Funcom hasn't addressed the issue with Kurak's dungeon yet - I'd say it's a critical bug. Will keep an out for Crystalline Parts in particular, but I'm pretty sure I've gotten several on PBC, let's see.
I would usually agree, but I actually found them to be quite powerful during a Purge. As long as you get free parts and can make a few disposable Golems, why not. But there is still a lot of work to do, that's for sure.
Oh, so they count as regular followers huh... kinda useless at the moment. I was hoping to make them gather rocks autonomously so I can keep churning out bricks but if I can't do that unsupervised, seems pretty useless. Battle-wise, if they can't heal up, they're useless. They'll only take some slots in my follower count. Tho, it would be good for them to be tanks in purges. Have them infront of the gate before opening it up so my human thralls can attack.

But it's interesting that this - in combination with the "pink frame" might have led you to believe it's an older video. So thanks for the additional feedback!
Radium head just makes it easier to spot where your golem is when it's wandering around
That can come in handy in darkness, true, but still not a big selling point. Nonetheless, the more part options there are, the better. Really hoping they introduce more with future updates. Would be nice to have them work at crafting stations or similar things.
There really good for purge
Seus videos são muito bons, continue o ótimo trabalho!
Muito obrigado!
4:39 no that's a muddy shart cloud.
😂
I like how the scythe is Thag's Axe lol. I mean... It's not wrong 😄
Hehe, yeah. 😃
So do Golems harvest when a player is unconscious nearby as well
Not sure what exactly that scenario would be, but there needs to be a player in render distance for them to be active. That could even be your neighbor - if close enough - when you are offline. Or someone passing by. But you couldn't be logged off with your body in range, no.
hello, what type of golem food? golem cant regen hp?
No, as explained in the video, unfortunately Golems can't be healed. Once they lose all their HP they are dead - make sure to harvest them for resources if they die.
thank you for information sir@@Pixelcave
how i can heal him ?
As explained in this guide, Golems can't be healed. You have to craft a new one if your old one dies.
@@Pixelcave thank you
if there is a unconcious clan member will the golem harvest without another player nearby?
If no player is in range, a Golem won't be active (at least for now, they said they might change that in future). I also believe the other player would need to be dead, not just be unconscious. It's unclear if Golems harvest players' corpses though, personally we haven't tried it yet - would be interesting to know.
@@Pixelcave going over in my head how i could potentially make a t2 / t3 material factory, factoring in golem render distance survivability etc , im also not sure how close u can build to things without disability the resource node generation and just use a afk account to passively generate
I guess it will require some trial and error, but I'd love to hear if you get something to work that would make good use of the Golems.
Golems to me seem useless other than decorations. Hope they have some point in the future.
I guess if you find a lot of parts, they make for some cheap disposable companions, but yeah, they still need a lot of improving.
Sadly you can't have golem with both empty arms, is not like it can punch you! lol
They kind of feel useless other than a PVP tool
I would usually agree, but I actually found them to be quite powerful during a Purge. As long as you get free parts and can make a few disposable Golems, why not. But there is still a lot of work to do, that's for sure.
@@Pixelcave I can see I guess
Is your character a female while you a male irl?
Yes
@@imjufusques the Chad montages
Oh, so they count as regular followers huh... kinda useless at the moment. I was hoping to make them gather rocks autonomously so I can keep churning out bricks but if I can't do that unsupervised, seems pretty useless. Battle-wise, if they can't heal up, they're useless. They'll only take some slots in my follower count. Tho, it would be good for them to be tanks in purges. Have them infront of the gate before opening it up so my human thralls can attack.
