Banh ran. You remind me of a children tale I read when I was a child. A little girl was given a basket of banh ran by her grandma to eat on the way home, but the wolf also loved it as well so he found the way to drive a girl away so that he can devour the whole of basket of “banh ran”. I loved banh ran since.

Vietnamese teamed flour crapes are well served with Thai basils + steamed bean spouts. This is a healthy food, very light and soft breakfast. This is a famous dish from the North. I am glad you made a good choice.
Check out: 1. Bánh Đa Trộn Dốc Thọ Lão 2. Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm next door to the tailors on 17 alley 285 Đội Cấn. I have not tried the mắm tôm but their perfectly seasoned nước mắm is the best out of the 15 - 20 locations I have tried in Hanoi.

They looked the same but the tastes are very different . Cheong fun in hongkong is machine steamed so the rice flour is a bit thicker and softer almost melt in your mouth since they steamed beef and shrimps together with the rice flour, they binded together like one. Banh cuon wrap is thinner and the filling is mainly pork cooked separately so they fall apart , not to mention the different dipping sauces. I love both versions especially peanut sauce and water chestnut in the Hongkong style, however not all restaurant have these two adds on

@@anh456 she didn't boil the egg. she cracked it right onto the rice roll. That can be understood as another method of poaching egg. And boiling eggs requires whole egg which still has shell, not the method she did in the video.

You have become a Vietnamese food expert. I don't say this lightly but based on your comments while you taste the foods. The big difference between North and South VN taste is the North uses less sugar in their food than the South which is indeed too sweet most of the time. Banh Cuon came from the North so it is superb here as the Cha Que. I also like Banh ran man Phuong Mai that you reviewed. If you like poetry, Hanoi is the place the be as most people is a poet inside, even the street vendors might surprise you. 😃 😘

Welcome to HN. You can try Bun Cá Sâm Cây Si at Trung Yen lane, near Gia Ngư street. You can try fish roll there. Really delicious! You should stay in HN in several weeks, at least until in the middle of this month. Because it starts Rươi season. It is a kind of insect. Hanoian make Chả rươi from rươi, egg, herb and citrus peel. Only this season in HN you can try the best chả rươi.

Banh cuon is one of my favorite things to eat...but hers had too much mushrooms and not enough ground pork. That last one she gave you with the runny egg, though. Yeah, that one looks AMAZING! Too bad the noodle dish didn't work out, but it's like eating pho and other Viet dishes like that - gotta doctor it up to your liking. :) That last place with the fried goodies had me drooling. Mmmm!!

Yeah. "Nem tai" is basically made of pork ear with lime leaves and u dab it with fish sauce. Deliciousssss

"lòng đào" is actually poached egg. I also never taste poached egg wrapped in rice roll but I bet it will taste amazing.
