I live in California for 40 years now and haven't had a chance to travel, just way too busy working and providing for my mama, sister and stepdad ... Love love love you both so much and lots of respect ... I introduced my sister who was born in Salinas, Kansas and she doesn't speak Việt very well but she loves y'all youtube channel ❤❤❤
That's was a fun video to watch 👍👍 Max, you crack me up when you try and put on a Northern accent and even funnier when you and Chris talk to each other in Vietnamese🤣🤣🤣. I always look forward to your videos!
Always, always enjoy seeing both of you together and it never gets old with your different accents with Chris living in the North and Max from the South. I live in Canada and am from near Saigon and my wife was from the North and speaks with Northern accent. No matter how I try I can never speak with Northern accent. It's interesting my two kids born in Canada speak Viet like their mom and we both speak Viet to them. Anyway another good episode with the yummy com tam, one of my favourite dishes.

Great Max, learning new thing is always wonderful!... Northern accent is nice too.. I prefer the southern, although my parents are originate from the North.
Hi guys, I live in South East Asia too, Cambodia. I used to live in Thailand where I ate at the Taoist Buddhist vegetarian restaurants which are similar to the places you eat at. Buffet with rice or noodles, however most of those places are closed for dinner and if they do open they have a menu a la cart, aka no buffet. Malaysia is great too for vegans especially Georgetown and Kuala Lumpur. I was also lucky enough to find vegan places in Laos where I ate the best vegan sushi. I came to Cambodia 5 years ago, some people recommended Siem Reap as it is vibrant as a city but peaceful as a town. I was very disappointed as I couldn't find any Taoist Buddhist eateries here and the vegetarian restaurants are overpriced fancy places for tourists. I love cooking and I was staying in a Chinese hostel which allowed guests to cook so I started cooking my own food again. After many months, I found a one room apartment with garden in a beautiful park of mango trees so I moved there. My vehicle was a bicycle which I used to get to the market and back. I was still cooking and could find great ingredients at the open market and local supermarket. However, despite the abundance and beauty, I got severely depressed, my two rescued dogs died, I did a water fast to cleanse myself but instead I got even more depressed and fasted for almost 2 months. I lost consciousness, was taken to the hospital and rescued by a christian organisation first and a local Khmer family second where I still live just outside Siem Reap. I was fed all sorts of food so my strict vegan diet vanished just like my health. I have been severely disabled ever since the water fast. It got progressively worse and worse until I realised that the secret to a joyful life is to enjoy everything because nothing lasts: we only have this moment. Don't waste your life lost in thoughts and ideologies like I did, follow your intuition just like these two beautiful young men are doing. Love is all there is!
I'm Vietnamese here. Come back to Phu Tho, the land of Hung Kings ancestors, there are many delicious dishes. Thank you for promoting Vietnamese food and images.
Hi ! Max , I can hear your comments on foods . You are a truly local people ; better than am I. However , The foods prices are expensive , can't be considered as " a dish " for the ordinary people .
Hi, you should try to experience the food at "Ngõ Tự Do", it's not far away. Most students choose to eat there because of the variety and 24/7 service.
I love all your videos and keep up with the good work Max. But I want to make it clear for non Vietnamese speakers that " Com Bui" is a slang which mean food of the poor, not dirty food. Nevertheless, the food looks amazing and delicious.

Max, I think your Vietnamese is very good. To perfect it, u should say dạ in every sentence when u speak to the elders. I really enjoy your Vietnamese food clips. Thank u.
Happy belated big 3-0 to you, Max! It's the dawn of a new decade and more exciting adventures await! You guys ordered a TON of food, which I know you can tuck away, but I was surprised at how much Chris got as he usually doesn't eat as much or the variety of food you eat. I think the soup is appropriate for the meal as the broth is probably more for washing down all the heavy stuff you just ate vs it being a meal in itself.
Hi Max, I'm studying in that area and if you come back, you can try Cơm bụi at 76 Ngõ Tự Do. I usually have to wait in a long line to have lunch there.

Max, when you are asked about your excellent Vietnamese language skills, "How did you learn to speak Vietnamese language so well?" You should reply, "I was driven to learn the Vietnamese language by my stomach because Vietnamese food is so delicious." On a somewhat related note, many years ago, I worked with a guy who had emigrated to the U.S. from Peru. When he first arrived to the States, he had nearly no English. The only thing he could eat was what he knew to say, so he told me that for his first six months in country, his diet consisted of "corn-muffin and milk." Then, one day, he was standing in line at the local deli where he would typically eat. He saw somebody who had just received their order of a hamburger and french-fries. Pointing at the food, he asked the individual, "How you say?" The person replied, "Hamburger and french-fries." My friend repeated, "Ham-be-gar an fresh-fri." Needless to say, he asserted to me that he never ate corn-muffin and milk again, and he told me that he learned English by way of his stomach. True story.

Hi Max! Have you ever tried dried beef or dried fish powder/fiber? Sorry I cannot spell it in Vietnamese. It is nice either in banh mi or plain rice with green veg.
My Vietnamese partner tells me this is the food that no one else buys at the market. The leftovers, thats why its cheap. I told her that I wouldnt worry about it too much, as long as its tasty, which it almost always is in Hanoi. I miss it so much! Hope to be back this year. Love the video's boys!

Happy belated birthday, Max! I hope you had a wonderful birthday with your buddy Chris, eating random street food at random streets in VN, making these wonderful videos speaking Vietnamese with southern accent (not bắc kỳ 😂 accent)!
bình tĩnh nào chó vàng :)) having different accents means the country is diversed. same goes with Texas or New York having their own accents. bắc kì accent sure makes you annoyed huh 😂
Thanks guys for the motorized street food tour and the Cơm" bụi" literally means "Dirty Rice" Awesome description. Hearty good food very cheap in Hanoi. 👍👏

hi maxx, i think you should try some restaurants of famous people in vietnam and i hope it will be quite an interesting experience for you

When you see these buffet / multiple choice restaurants, is the food hot? Or cold?
Hey Max, can we get an Aeon Mall food haul? Maybe at the end of the day when everyone swoops in for the big deals and clearances

Happy belated birthday, Max! I hope you had a wonderful birthday with your buddy Chris, eating random street food at random streets in VN, making these wonderful videos speaking Vietnamese with southern accent (not bắc kỳ 😂 accent)!
Childish comments.
bình tĩnh nào chó vàng :)) having different accents means the country is diversed. same goes with Texas or New York having their own accents. bắc kì accent sure makes you annoyed huh 😂
Thanks guys for the motorized street food tour and the Cơm" bụi" literally means "Dirty Rice" Awesome description. Hearty good food very cheap in Hanoi. 👍👏
Jeff is very easy to get around with people there. He has a very clear accent of the language!
Another wonderful video thank you for sharing! May I ask in the service industry is tipping accepted, or expected?
nah we dont do tip, but if u still want to, they still dont accept 😂
I am an Indian and i am very strict with my indian food, even though we are very limited with non-veg foods. I won't even imagine trying these foods in my life. However, i feel glad for you, you are so open and diverse.
New subscriber here. Coming to Vietnam in march. Would like opinions on which is the best/safest domestic airline to travel on.
Vietnam Airlines or Bamboo Airways. Don’t use VietJet Air, low price, poor service, delay often.

Thanks for the information. 1st time back since 2018. Things change
@@MegaPixie666 if you are in the US, I can say Vietjet has the similar marketing strategy with Spirit and Frontier, low price but you have to pay for all of your luggages.
Max, I really like your haircut. You look so young and cool
Nhìn a max ăn đói bụng thật sự! Sau này ăn hết quán a có thể làm series ăn ko hết chế biến lại như thịt heo luộc chiên nước mắm, thịt vịt chiên mắm gừng.. hết cơm :) nhìu bạn còn có mấy món đỉnh hơn nữa... mời cmt
