This is easily the hardest TAS I have made so far. This isn't one of my best tracks RTA (I'm close to 4 seconds off the wr), so driving the track took a while to figure out. The glitch on this track with blue 7 is also in my opinion the hardest glitch in the game, so each glitch took a while. In total this took close to 20 hours to make, which considering that this is technically a prelim run is a very long time. The ghost data also didn't save for some reason, so since i won't have a ghost to compare against I probably won't be improving this any time soon.

It seems that going not totally off an edge gives you insane speed as opposed to not risking it. I learned more than one thing so thanks man
Edit: It seems the glitch is pulled off similar to Out of Bounds glitches in Coconut Mall and Dino Dino Jungle are performed

The out of bounds glitches in coconut mall are going over an invisible wall, whereas this is going over a physical one. But yeah, both utilize ledgehangs.
The first part is called a grind :)
It kinda reminds me of shift-boosting in F-Zero GX where quickly going off and on an edge of the track gives you an insane speed boost which can be stacked (it’s and insanely difficult technique to pull off)

1:20 how do you drift slowly? I honestly have no idea how you do that
If you hold b while drifting, you brake while still in a drift. However, if you go too slowly, your drift cancels. So i was feathering the b button to stay at the slowest speed possible to keep the drift

Yeah, I initially thought that i would have to stay on the edge snow and not touch the line for the deep snow, but for some reason you can cross over a little
@@MKWilliam cuz the game counts only the back wheels, as long as your back wheels touch the road then youre not slowed down

@@expired_esoup 3/3 was done in 2019 :). I would say it's humanly impossible with this combination though. The wr is with koopa clown, which is much lighter and can therefore get more height

I would say this is the 3rd most broken mario kart in the series
Mk64 and mkwii I assume you'd say are more broken. There's probably an argument to be made for super circuit being more broken as well

Keep up the good work but what means TAS?
Tool assisted speedrun. It means we use tools to slow down the game and use savestates in order to try and achieve the best run possible. TAS runs don't count on real time leaderboards, but are important to the progression of any game

How do you make a TAS on 3DS? I'd like to make one for another game!
Using citra emulator. You'd have to use ctm files for another game, eh I'm not sure how well they work. They used to have issues. We rely on the games in game replay system to play back the TASes

@@Portentous__ Offroad stat also applies to road surfaces other than road as well as being in offroad that slows you down. Kalimari desert also doesn't use bdasher for example. Blue 7 is also used for no sc rosalina's ice world runs

That’s a way to ruin leaderboards. I know they’re not gonna fix it now because the 3DS is currently out of date
The leaderboards that are on the 3ds are just a collection of random times. For the actual leaderboards that we as players keep track of, this is in a separate glitch category
