Maybe have it feature good games by traditional terrible developers? Like Warthog Games, the devs of the third game here, actually made an amazing Robot Wars game on the GBA.
Here's something to know: TTA: The Great Beanstalk and TTA: Toonenstein were developed by the same company (Terraglyph Interactive Studios), but had two different publishers. The Great Beanstalk was published by NewKidCo, while Toonenstein was published by Vatical Entertainment.
As bad as these games are: Elmira dressed as Elvira was HILARIOUS. The fact they even got most the original cast is actually impressive too. All Konami's 8 & 16-bit (and gaming gods Treasure's one 16-bit) efforts dance circles around this hot garbage fire. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to hear the rest of that Toonenstein rap now! 🤣 AAAAND THAT'S A WRAP!!
Konami has a solid track record when it comes to Tiny Toon Adventures video games. The 1991 NES Game of the same name, Babs' Big Break on Game Boy, Buster Busts Loose on SNES, and Buster's Hidden Treasure on Sega Genesis are all great games. After 1994, Konami gave the license to Atari so they could release a TTA video game for their ill-fated Jaguar system. What a mistake that was, because not only did the game never get released (despite being advertised in certain magazine ads), but the license was passed over to companies such as Terraglyph and Warthog, who made games such as these. My preferred method of playing video games is on either Nintendo or Sega consoles, and these TTA video games are one of the reasons why. One more thing, the Tiny Toon Adventures voice cast did get together one last time for an unreleased PS2 game, Defenders of the Universe. Charlie Adler even reprised his role as Buster, marking the first time he voiced Buster since he quit in late 1992 after being denied a part on Animaniacs.
I was gonna say the same thing, I remember playing that too. I didn't play it very long mind you, but I remember that it looked and played pretty good for a sidescroller platformer of that era, no major problems with it.
+geardog24 Let's hope they both fall into good reboot territory (DuckTales (2017) and Muppet Babies (2018)) and not bad reboot territory (Teen Titans Go! and The Powerpuff Girls (2016)).

The problem was when it started getting reruns on like Nickelodeon in the mid-to-late 90s. And it kind of got a second wind hence why we got these games. The GBA one made by treasure though is magnifico. A shame that I literally found it in the bargain bin at rite aid and have never seen another copy of it since.
BUT WAIT! Turns out there was a CANCELLED Tiny Toons Game for the PS2 called Defenders of the Universe. The wierdest thing is that actually looks better than these 3 combined. It's an action game with co-op for up to 4 players developed by Treasure Video Games, makers of GOOD Games like Mischef Makers and Gunstar Heroes. It even would've had full voice acting and clever dialogue! You can find a complete playthrough of the alpha build here on TH-cam.
Believe it was meant for gamecube cause it was 4 players mode, you can find the rom of it lool hard enough! Brought back the original Buster and pretty much everyone
Well hey. Maybe if the revival series is successful, they could be convinced to dig up the game and hand it off to someone to finish. We got a remake of the _SpongeBob_ game; anything's possible.
I like the friendship in this one. Also, I can't wait until you find a game that is just completely middle of the road. I listen to a podcast that does Best Movie Ever and Worst Movie Ever as rankings, but sometimes, on those rare occasions, they pull out a "Just a Movie" grade
I totally remember renting Plucky's Big Adventure from Blockbuster years ago. I got stuck really early in the game and felt horrible wasting a rental on such a horrible game.
I'm not even sure why people were even making Tiny Toons games after the show ended. The whole point of cashing in on a TV show is because that show is still on the air or popular enough with its demographic. And as they stated in the review, most of the fans that grew up with this show were already old enough that these games wouldn't have appealed to them at all because they were made for a younger audience. Whoever gave these games the greenlight clearly didn't know what they were doing...
Exactly, at some point or another Nickelodeon I believe started playing reruns (at least here in the US) sometime in the mid-to-late 90s. complete with edits cuz apparently Nickelodeon didn't like some of the stuff in the episodes. Including completely banning the infamous one beer episode.
Tiny Toons received a lot of repeats via syndication, with local channels where I live still running the episodes daily all the way into the 2000s (coming home from high school as late as 2004 I could catch Tiny Toons back to back with the latest Digimon episode if I so desired.) I'm honestly surprised it apparently got new episodes for as short a time as it did: I'd have assumed the show ran for at least five years simply due to how often it aired.

I'm in my 30s and hyped beyond words for the new Animaniacs season on hulu, and would love it to lead to a new Tiny Toons one too -- maybe with tie-in material closer to the quality of say the NES/SNES/genesis games, which were all pretty solid, we can hope.
You should check out the leaked Defenders of the Universe game, then. It's a, basically complete, unreleased Tiny Toons game for the PS2. It's pretty fun, and they managed to get the entire original cast back, minus Don Messick as Hampton, who had passed away by the time the game was made.
Cracking stuff, lads. Love your presentation. Coincidentally, when I was briefly studying animation in college, one of my lecturers was actually a background artist on the Tiny Toons Beanstalk game. He even had the original pencil drawings of some of the backgrounds to show us in class. Dude had a big archive from other projects he'd worked on, including Don Bluth films.
I think what they were getting at is that they made games that would only be considered like, very little kids games. Which would thin out the target demographic for them, because someone who's now like, a teen/young adult when the show was running, isn't going to play a game that's clearly aimed at ages 5 to 10. There are many other Tiny Toon games that are fun and enjoyable for all ages, so to make these super baby games wasn't really the smartest move.
This feels like someone was told to install a mod called "fun" into this lovely simulation we call "Life" but then they messed up and these games happened so enjoy.

I used to play the Beanstalk game all the time for my ps1 as a kid. This was probably my 1st point and click adventure type game. I loved the hell out of it, but I remember it had a pretty game breaking glitch where if you click on a particular item, the riddle changes to one that's impossible to solve (had something to do with a key). The password system was bs, too. The jumping was a pain in the ass and hard mode was borderline impossible to play. I still had fun for the animations and clickable items though
You really have to give the first 2 games a tiny (lol) bit of credit for the fantastic artwork and animation. It's really nice to look at. I'm sure the artists had nothing to do with the gameplay.
I actually have nostalgia for The Great Beanstalk. I remember it was one of the few games my parents got for me and my brother when we were kids, and I remember all the little jokes and animations and stuff when you clicked on things in the point and click sections. I remember watching my brother go through the platforming sections. I loved that game to death and never knew why. I know I know. Its objectively bad. That being said, I love it and would love to play through it again. It's got a special place in my heart

I'm not entirely certain if this was already mentioned before but the last game featured in the Tiny Toon Adventures game trilogy WAS actually an episode where Plucky didn't do his homework. He successfully built the time machine (which was made from a bathtub) and he went into the past to trade places with himself so that he could do his homework again however it still didn't end well for him as he didn't do his homework and the future (or present) Plucky told him next time just to do his homework instead of goofing off. Might also be worth mentioning that Tiny Toons reran for a long time too. It was on Kids WB by 1998 at least, and it reran on both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network well into the 2000s.
At this point you should make a new series called “Just Good games”

It feels more appropriate.
Absolutely that would be priceless.
@@planeslyville4645 That's a really solid idea!

Remenber ,the avgn best episodes are about shitty games
Didn't know that thing about animaniacs and Charlie Adler.
That's a shame. Yet that's how the business goes.

The genesis and GBA game was good too.

Tiny Toons really need a reboot, in both games and cartoons.
+geardog24 Let's hope they both fall into good reboot territory (DuckTales (2017) and Muppet Babies (2018)) and not bad reboot territory (Teen Titans Go! and The Powerpuff Girls (2016)).

Can't wait to see a new Tiny Toons series taking on the new topical humor--because let's face it, the original is great, but very, very dated in pop culture references (which is why we love it).
How about a Tiny Toons/Animaniacs extended universe? The pilot episode has the Luniversity built next to the Warner Bros. lot and Yakko, Wakko and Dot enroll as students. Then things just happen because of course they do.

Tiny Toon Adventures was a great series
The problem was when it started getting reruns on like Nickelodeon in the mid-to-late 90s.
And it kind of got a second wind hence why we got these games. The GBA one made by treasure though is magnifico.
A shame that I literally found it in the bargain bin at rite aid and have never seen another copy of it since.

Ah the nostalgia, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were my jam, and I'm from 92.
Why can't we get nice things ..
Believe it was meant for gamecube cause it was 4 players mode, you can find the rom of it lool hard enough! Brought back the original Buster and pretty much everyone
Yeah I played it and completed it , very fun and you can basically unlock all characters and play as them.
Wish it got a real release.
Well hey. Maybe if the revival series is successful, they could be convinced to dig up the game and hand it off to someone to finish. We got a remake of the _SpongeBob_ game; anything's possible.
Elmyra: She was an average nurse, but she was a *BRILLIANT* scientist!!

Montague
Trying to reintroduce the series?
Well, reruns were still airing
Exactly, at some point or another Nickelodeon I believe started playing reruns (at least here in the US) sometime in the mid-to-late 90s.
complete with edits cuz apparently Nickelodeon didn't like some of the stuff in the episodes. Including completely banning the infamous one beer episode.
Tiny Toons received a lot of repeats via syndication, with local channels where I live still running the episodes daily all the way into the 2000s (coming home from high school as late as 2004 I could catch Tiny Toons back to back with the latest Digimon episode if I so desired.)
I'm honestly surprised it apparently got new episodes for as short a time as it did: I'd have assumed the show ran for at least five years simply due to how often it aired.
It re-ran on Nick for YEARS afterward. The audience was still very much there.
I remember an ad for the Toonenstein one in Tips and Tricks magazine, and I remember thinking "but that's not on TV anymore...?"
You'd think it'd be easy to do a Tiny Toons game, a 3D platformer with references...it's that easy, THAT...

Buster's Hidden Treasure was by far the best and most replayable game, though. It was the NES game on steroids that I always wanted! Konami's Sega Genesis/Mega Drive team were phenomenal. I had a total blast with Acme All-Stars too. That was the most fun sports title I've ever played (even more than NBA Jam)! Dizzy was the best goalie for soccer. You implying the people who grew up on this and Animaniacs EVER grew out of those shows, lmao.

The voice acting at the end was hilarious!
14:05 So this whole game's plot is just an elaborate message telling kids to do their homework?
I was 8 in 2001 and I watched Tiny Toons. They played reruns for a long time, so the age of the audience wasn’t an issue
Exactly. Sadly I don't think these guys understand how this works.
@@Scott356-m2u *sigh* you both didn’t understand the video
I think what they were getting at is that they made games that would only be considered like, very little kids games. Which would thin out the target demographic for them, because someone who's now like, a teen/young adult when the show was running, isn't going to play a game that's clearly aimed at ages 5 to 10.
There are many other Tiny Toon games that are fun and enjoyable for all ages, so to make these super baby games wasn't really the smartest move.
Ah jeez Shane, Adam. This was painful. Great work!
This feels like someone was told to install a mod called "fun" into this lovely simulation we call "Life" but then they messed up and these games happened so enjoy.
That person's name was Todd Howard.
You can’t say the target audience would’ve been young adults because they kept Tiny Toons on rerun for years. It had an audience of kids for a decade

This series keeps getting better and better! xD
