As a former EA employee, me and everyone I ever saw or talked to was let go Christmas of 2008 in the depths of the financial crisis while they paid all their execs 7 figures, then closed every office and let go of virtually every single employee including pandemic and the LA office. Us EALA people still talk and moved on but I’ll never forget that they paid the execs millions of dollars while laying off on every employee in LA.
This is absolutely horrible. Like,how the exces were payed a lot while the employees were treated like garbage.?

The execs make the machine work, you are just a cog, remember that. What a cog knows? How to spin on it's own axis, it takes many cogs to represent something of value. "Hur dur but if not for me there would be no game hur dur", cool, but a cog can be easily replaced, you as a low-level developer has no value in the grand scheme of things. An exec knows how the machine work, knows how to build it, fix it and improve on it, that's why execs are more expandable than cogs. If you have to cut something, you start at the base, not at the top. In every big company, you, developer/designer/low-level-contributor, are a cog that work solely to make the investors richer, nothing else. The game being good, bad or half-assed is just a byproduct of the primary objective: make the investors richer.
And I don't mean to embed a sense of moral in this, that's just how the world works. Things fall down, water is wet and big companies primary concern is making it's investors richer. That's the beauty of things, you know what they are, and you know exactly what to expect from them. If you work at a big company and expect "mom's treatment" you have a problem with your perception of reality, it's like believing the moon is made of cheese, and by chewing on it's soil get mad because it tastes like gunpowder.

I encourage everyone to stop supporting companies like Activision/Blizzard and EA. There are so many great independent studios that create games with passion and innovation that deserve this support. These flesh-eating ghouls think that the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia are a sufficient disguise to hide their true intentions.
Sure, these publishers may put out something approaching a decent game every now and then by working with a good studio or spanking the butt of one of their studios, but they'll use those profits to do more harm, so even supporting their non-flagrant games is negative in the long run. They are laughing at you all the way to the bank.

EA disabled my account due to inactivity, when i contacted them they said I need to reset my password, I didn't know what the email was used and they said they couldn't tell me. Because the account was linked to my xbox profile, i can't play any of the ea games i bought on my microsoft account. So they basically scammed me.

You forgot the war on used games sales EA started in the late 00's. Many EA games started coming with one-time-use codes in the box that unlocked content in the game (or even multiplayer functionality entirely). EA basically started cutting out bigger and bigger portions of their games to force you to buy new or pay up later to have the full game.
They did that with spore the bastards

The only game that I don't have a problem with is all the plants vs zombies garden warfare games I like those.
Honestly the only game I've ever got and fully enjoyed was battlefront 2. And honestly now that I look at it, EA is a fucked up company who just wants the money and doesnt want the people to be happy. I mean, just look at battlefront 2 now. No more updates, no more nothing. Nada. They sent the people who were working on it to help make battlefield 6. Which like most of the battlefield games, is gonna suck. So they lost a great opportunity to get more money by updating battlefront 2 and decided to make the people work on battlefield 6 and dice have to pull the plug on the game. I think EA is pretty dumb.

I like how EA keeps trying to rope more women into buying their games by featuring them as either history-breaking and obviously-shoehorned (Battlefield, Captain whatsherface from Star Wars) or totally customizable (The Sims, Mass Effect, Anthem lol)... and all the options are hideous. Its like with fucking Bethesda and the people who mod their games. There are people out there who make great-looking eyebrow mods. In the amount of time it has taken CDPR to patch a handful of bugs and add a bit of meager content, roughly a year and a half No Mans Sky had released 3 full DLC sized updates. Foundation, Path Finder and Atlas Rises. Even that still wasn't enough to fix their reputation. They are like 20 of those massive updates in now and people finally have forgiven them, but think about how much they did to re-earn that reputation compared to what CDPR has done for Cyberpunk so far. I have no hope for this games future, just a waste of talent and money.
I found out about this channel yesterday and now i'm watching pretty much all the videos (mostly cause i'm fucking high and have nothing to do at 2:20 am on a monday in Argentina).
I have to say i have like a personal "top" of channels to watch while being baked and this is honestly on my top 3 maybe. The editing is S tier and is just comedy gold. I see that you invest a lot of time editing given the fact that there's a video each month or so, but that's just the perfect example that quality isn't equal to quantity.

Andromeda changed gaming for me as an adult, first game I purchased that in the first 20 minutes my copy had a glitch in the Campagnolo that wouldn't let me pass a certain point and it took months for a patch.

A colleague bought Star Wars Battlefront 2 recently. We got to talking and I mentioned the pay to win, 80 hour grind and other questionable things that caused such a big controversy on release that they had to patch these things. Here's the thing though...
He just kept repeating that I'm wrong as he's playing the game and doesn't experience the issues "I'm clearly making up"

This is never gonna happen. As with every aspect of life, only 10-20% of people will wise up/wake up and start to see the bullshit. The majority will remain brainwashed sheep and just follow the trends and hype trains because they are cool, while forgetting the harsh lessons they learned (or not) from previous mistakes.
Not many gamers are patient, dont fall prey to hype trains and fake trailers and DONT preorder anything, instead waiting at least 1 month after release to see the real state of the game, see reviews and opinions from multiple people. Only smart people do that.

The thing that pisses me off the most about Star Wars battlefront 2 criticism about unlocks, is that they never mention the fact that you could just play the campaign and get the credits to unlock the characters that way. That’s what I did when I got the game day 1, and was basically instantly able to unlock every character

That's how the job is done in all industries, video games aren't an exception.

I remember EA buying out Origin games who made Ultima Online back in like 2002 or so. They overhauled the game so much it made a large portion of the community quit and go to emulated servers. After that I've referred to them as the evil empire ever since.

Honestly, that's the best course of action, and I'll explain why. Indie games are, well, independent, and aren't backed by billion dollar corporations. They realize that if they fuck up a game, then they're done and can't keep developing games and paying people. So they HAVE to do it right and make a solid game. So they do. Notice how a very large amount of indie games are well received and well liked. Because they're good, plain and simple.
