You sir have an excellent sense of finding the right location for the right 🎥 shot. Excellent job.. I think it's safe to assume that Mustang Car BQ is a write-off.
Great job all the way around! Great engine placement. Glad to see the 1 3/4 rather than the booster. Car is history, so take the extra minute to pack out and save yourself in the long run. And I was personally glad to see the nozzle guy open it up just a bit rather than a straight stream - don't know why more don't do that . . . way better water coverage. Excellent job guys!! Thank you for all you do! Former FF in SC.
I couldn't disagree with you more. First of lets get started with the fact that instead of sending a ladder company to help assist with opening up compartments of a vehicle, they sent an ambulance. The guys immediately jump out and have to go to compartments to get their SCBAs which kills crucial time. Since you're talking effective departments, this critically kills time on any assignment, especially a house fire. We're talking critical seconds that could mean life or death for potential victims. The line is being charged and is being put into operation, but there is no firefighter to back up the nozzle man? With the rescue on scene, you definitely have the manpower for a backup man. The rescue guys just stand around for the whole videos doing nothing, absolutely no reason one of them couldn't back up the nozzle man. We can also hear a saw start in the background, yet it is NOT utilized what so ever to attempt to cut open the hood. The car is nowhere near salvageable, so why not utilize it and gain access to the hood? Instead they pry from the worst possible points and continue to fail. Fast forward the firefighter is banging on the trunk... why? Its obviously ineffective, you could also utilize the saw for that as well. Why start equipment and not use it? Now all these points I've made, lets transfer to the FDNY. The FDNY already has a backup man, so lets get that out the way. A minimal assignment for a vehicle fire is 1 Engine + 1 Ladder, and the ladders always utilize hooks, saws, and halligans to gain access of doors, hoods & trunks. Now if you want to argue not having a ambulance for a car fire is bad, you have a point. Although NYC contracts plenty of ambulance companies, and engine companies are CFR trained so they can render aid while the ambulance is enroute. Monday quarterbacking is one thing, but its rather clear there is a lot of learning to be done for these firemen, and LAFD as a department. If you, or anybody have any argument points, please feel free to reply as I'm intrigued.
Rescue 810 is actually a basic life support so they only have EMTs onboard. Either they were dispatch for manpower purposes or medical reasons or they just happened to be nearby.
If the original report did not specify a parked, unoccupied car then the dispatcher is likely to assume a worst-case scenario such as a crash or vehicle malfunction while moving that started the fire. The car's driver might have been injured in either case.
Why some fire fighters using filter mask of SCBA and some not?Any particular reason as all fire fighters are potentially exposed to smoke and potential toxic gases near the fire point.
I need a vehicle desperately and every other fire video is a vehicle fire in LA! I think I’m going to fly out there and grab me one of these right before it spontaneously combusts!
You mean battery fires in cars? Usually gasoline is easily controlled with a dry chem extinguisher and controlled pretty quick. The tank on that car was ruptured. That is why the flames were so intense toward the rear when they first pulled up. That was the gasoline burning.
i could see two firemen working in the hot zone without wearing their masks...They should know the firefighters are profissionasl so they shouldn't work like that.
It is the “Clean Cab Concept” It is designed to keep dangerous carcinogens out of the cab area and reduce cancer risks. Turnouts can be laundered at the station but hard gear can’t be cleaned. So it is not a “ joke” but for the health and safety of the firefighter. That is why they put on their air gear at the scene…
@@timothyreed8417 there is also the fact that even if they had SCBA seats this most departments, chances are in a big city (because of the amount of stations close to any given location) you wont have time to be fully kitted before you arrive on scene
Nice kink in the line and a minute and a half until you're flowing AND a k12... Don't run on scene doesn't mean you don't have to move quickly & who taught the probie at the vehicles trunk how to force entry. They got it done but no sense of urgency.. 4.5/10 .. those shop cards don't mean We can slack off boys, work on it. Be dressed and packed up the second you dismount, 1 man establishes supply, 1 man stretches the line, engineer waits for the water call, 1 as a back up/ irons man.. something that small from on scene to mop up & clear shouldn't take more than 2.5 minutes TOPS if you have a full crew with half decent a pre-arrival plan, 3.0 minutes if you have to pack up before going to work (you should get packed up on the rig). Work on it. We failed on 9/11 because of poor comms & no prior planning. Keep in mind the "6 Ps" Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Listen to the old man on this. Yeah, I know, SOPs... Us old guys are still on the job because We know the work arounds and practice often. Drill more boys. I expect more out of such an (allegedly) well oiled machine. Job done, doesn't mean that you can't improve. Work on it.

Being real, at this point LAFD is a more effective department than FDNY.
Great work gentlemen 👍
You can tell that from one car fire video?

So FDNY doesn’t believe in the “clean cab concept”?

Awesome video!
Great video
Nice capture
hello why have an ambulance on a car fire? what is its use? the paramedics put out the fire?

If the original report did not specify a parked, unoccupied car then the dispatcher is likely to assume a worst-case scenario such as a crash or vehicle malfunction while moving that started the fire. The car's driver might have been injured in either case.
Would you rather wait until one of the firemen gets hurt or they find the owner of the car with injuries to call for the ambulance??
They are also cross trained as fire fighters. So they can do both jobs if need be.
LAFD paramedics are firefighters first
A very good job!!'from a French veteran firemen

In Germany we also have respiratory protection devices, but we also use them. It's terrible to see how they endanger their health.
Imagine being the poor soul that owns this car. Yikes! Great video!
Really like the configuration of LAFD pumpers. Even so, I’m fond of P&R bumper mounts nozzles for quicker attacks. 🤷♂️
