Pops here... thanks so much for all of the really nice comments! I'm so sorry to also hear that many have lost their fathers. I know how fortunate I am to be able to do this with Jon... and especially as he was taking it easy on me! I'm truly so proud of what Jon is doing with this channel and how much effort he pours into making this come to life! And hey, I didn't realize that my tackle box was so vintage either until Jon showed me how he had paired his lures down to about a dozen in a sleek tackle case. I told him that he was being really "e-fish-ent"... Do make a point of getting outdoors and exploring nature with your loved ones! Be well. Pops

My dad and i fished together constantly when i was younger and when my son got older, they went together. Dad died at 69 and my son asked for his vintage tackle box. I've done these trips with my kids over the years. My son now has his own family three provinces away, but my adult daughter still enjoys going with dad. This summer we were up that way, and we ended up on the portage from Hades. When I asked her how it was going, she cheerfully said "Making memories dad". Enjoy the memories Jon and Lloyd.

We just watched and enjoyed the latest video with your Dad. My own sons and I have spent BWCA trips together like this along with snowshoeing in winter.
Ever since we began doing this around 2002, my older son documented each time with both film and photos and provided chosen background music for it.
As time and age comes to pass, I have had to back away from it a little...so enjoy all this that you can.
Your own videos are so well done and will be your own legacy. I've recommended these, along with those of Xander and Maxim to others. They are all well anticipated.
It's great that we have that same kind of comradery as father and son together and that includes our weekends of moderate drinking in a rec room we created with a Northwoods type decor atmosphere. Thanks for taking us along on your trips.

Pops, I was impressed when you showed you're tackle box and it had Jitter Bugs in it. Growing up, black Jitter Bugs were my go to bait on the Central Michigan lake I grew up on. You don't see them much anymore but they still work and I use them often. Some people may call them a "vintage" lure but I call them a "classic" . It was good to see a father and son spending quality time together, really enjoyed the show. I was also impressed you were still carrying a Hula Popper, another "classic"!

Great video, I never had a father present in my life. This video shows me how beautiful it can be to have a bond with a father! Great video!

My one regret in life is moving two provinces away from my dad and brother. We used to have trips like this every year. Thank you for bringing back some great memories.

Wonderful video. My dad's 84, and we modified a 17 foot old Coleman to make a raised seat, so he can be lowered onto it for some fishing. Enjoy the times with your dad, as they inevitably will come to an end.
Took a few minutes to figure out where you went 😁. Not too far away is an old circular loop that I did 35 years ago called 4M Circle Route, which I remember was very nice. Don't know if it's still that nice, but we caught lots of fish (put them all back).

Holy cow, you guys ate like kings! Outstanding. Amazing trip. Good fishing, good weather, good lights, good beer, good Scotch, and good company. Your Dad’s tackle box looks almost exactly like mine. Same era, I suppose. Thanks for the excellent video.

You don't need to hear how blessed you are to have your dad around but, I'll say that you are blessed.
I hope my kids will do something like this for me when they are older too!

Another thing... I very much appreciate your quiet and solemn thank you when you catch and keep a fish for sustenance.
As a fisherman I was always disturbed when watching fishing programs where the fisherman would Hoot and Holler and yell "smoked em" or "slay em" when catching these water dwelling lifes.
I really appreciate being able to was a fisherman have respect for the floral and the fauna. Again...Kudos!

Much appreciated :) That really bugs me too...the terminology around fishing is so angry and aggressive. "Rippin' lips" is one I find incredibly insensitive to the act of taking a life

      @@LostLakes "ripping lips!"... Great ....
I never heard of that one before.
Anyhow , not always, but often...the regular fishing hosts behaviour towards another life, another very successful species , tends to make me not want to admit to coworkers that I go fishing!
