This is the kind of commentary that will attract non-chess players to the game!! Even though I have no idea what he is talking about when he excitedly talks about "the London" and "let's go for the French" it makes me want to look it up and explore the world of chess. It's hard to explain how active and exciting chess is when non-chess players only see two people staring at the board but this commentary creates an amazing portrait of what is going on "behind the scenes". Great work
@@barakgooroo5082 There is a great article by Anne Hartt titled "How to Live Better With Something You Hate". In short she talks about how hate is a barrier, that prevents us from enjoying life to the fullest.
Came for Magnus-Rapport chess duel and stayed because of so emotional yet very informative and engaging commentary! Never expected so exciting commentary on something like the chess. Well done!
Oh... there is tons of content you can watch to show this excitement. It's a war game, so it takes someone able enough to describe the battle. There are so many commentating styles in chess... humour, professorial, and excitement. You found the right example for excitement. This is one of the best.
I have been watching many chess games for years , I can tell this guy is a great commentator that I have seen in my life , he made the game more exciting with his explanation and everything. What a performance form the commentator !! It is like a person who performs his work with the highest quality
The hardest game to win is a won game. Normally when you are in a completely winning position it's actually very hard to win because the positions are brand new to you. Unless it's a very forcing line that you've studied at home. But you get into these fresh positions and also have to find the "only move" which is incredibly hard
Best commentary out there! I hate watching the “commentators” who don’t even show you the actual game, instead they show you all the ‘what if’ moves on an online chess board. Love these style of videos when it comes to watching chess.
What an extraordinary game - and see Magnus's hand shaking / shivering at 10:47 even he was in full winning position. Sagar's commentary is just superb.
I used to pretty much hate sports on tv as a youth outside of soccer, until I started listening to Chick Hearn during Lakers games. This is reminding me of that time; for chess, this commentary is simply gold. Thanks for posting, and you've gained a new subscriber.
That was crazy. The color commentary was hilariously great! I was more excited than for the Superbowl. I'm new to this channel but it's a go too now. I'll bring my rating up.
I am new to watching Chess...this game was nothing short of INCREDIBLY EXCITING! WOW! Who IS this guy Magnus Carlsen? I don't know anything about him but I'm gonna take a guess by saying that either he is a Champion Chess player or he's on his way to being one! This makes me want to learn how to play Chess! I'm hooked! Who is the commentator too btw? Very detailed description of what the plays are & oh the excitement level in his voice was outstanding! Thanks to everyone involved, this video was incredible to watch & listen too! Don't even know how this came into my recommended but I'm so happy that it did! I play checkers as a kid but I'm thinking....this is nothing like checkers LOL! Cheers from Toronto Ontario Canada! Wow, gotta watch this a few more times now! Thanks again to ChessBase India for you incredible commentary, spot on my man! You sure do know your stuff dude! You got the right stuff!
Why Rapport didn't just cut Carlson's 2nd queen right away at 10:40-stalemate, I don't know. Oh I see it , Carlson's little bitty pawn still waiting for a checkmate. A great match!
It’s been stated dozens of times already but the commentary on these videos is nothing short of spectacular. I’m getting back into the game after a hiatus and this chap has me hooked. He should be applauded for simultaneously making the matches even more exciting while seeing the moves in advance of them actually happening while breaking down everything at speed with the accuracy of a grandmaster.
Very exciting and entertaining game indeed. The commentary itself was topnotch and was what made us to feel the drama and war in the game with opposites side sacrificing pieces, making brilliant moves and as well as BLUNDERING. It was as if all the moves were planned just to make the game very entertaining.
I'm 80 years old and not a book player. just a "Patzer" who has loved the game since I was 6 yrs old. the joy for this one was I was making a lot of the same moves that Magnus was making that leads me to believe my grey matter is not gone yet ha ha. what an exciting game with out the commentary no one could understand anyway!. but kudos to the commentators excitement. it did add to the game's narration for sure. ECF
"Magnus drinks his water, look at that!!" The commentary of this man is out of this world. Drinking water sounds as a really important thing and feels so excited to drink water. Thumbs up Sagar! Fantastic commentary
The commentator made it sound like a boxing match. The comments after the game by Magnus amazed me. It was like a boxer remembering every punch and counter punch of the game- and what round and time left in the round. What a memory. I'm at beginner level and sometimes when the game is over I can't remember what opening was played. Maybe it is easier after you play a million games and you have all the openings memorized.
I think that has to be one of the best compliments he could have said. Ok, he didn't beat Magnus, but he played the type of chess Magnus likes and made him have to think, got his blood pumping. I mean, I've never heard him say those words before against anyone. That was a sick game for sure and he'll remember that for the rest of his life probably.
The gameplay plus the commentary equals a very entertaining video. I've only been playing chess a few days now but I'm learning fast. Always thought chess was a game only for genius nerds. But I'm really enjoying it.
Magnus did throw in a swindle, in what was pretty much a lost game. That pawn on a6. And ultimately that turned out to be the undoing of Rapport. Seems a bit unfair that Rapport played so brilliantly, yet got undone by a little trick.
Rapport could also win after his first blunder. Just before Magnus little trick with the pawn Rapport could move his queen from e4 to b1 to protect all the area and then make a new queen with the pawn!!! 10:28

Easy win for black was (10:12 min) after 1. Kh6 Qe6 +! (not c3 ) 2. Kh7 and now 2...c3 clear win -+, and if 3.g8:Q Q:g8+ 4. K:g8 R:f8 -+
What of 2. Kg6 instead
@@edinyange In which moment Kg6 ?
@@edinyange Black has easy win in all variants !
@MrDENAB I'm saying after Kh6 Qe6+, White can play Kg6... and keep running around with the king. Plus time pressure so no time to properly think
