  • It is well known that Magnus Carlsen has studied a lot of games of the past masters. This game is a wonderful example of the same. Magnus Carlsen takes a leaf out of the book of the great former World Champion Bobby Fischer. It's a very unique idea play in a setup that is known as Hedgehog. Check out this game of Magnus versus the World Rapid Champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov from the World Rapid 2022. The commentary of the game is done by IM Sagar Shah.

      I heard somewhere that Magnus once played games against a bunch of Harvard lawyers. Obviously, he won every game, but when they were done, one of the lawyers said he wished he had written down the moves so he could show his family at home. Well! Magnus asked if he wanted him to write them down. After hearing that, the other lawyers asked as well, and he was able to write all of the games down from memory. Is that not completely insane?

    • @harshitjain1252
      @harshitjain1252 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gabriel62 he is insane but what's more intriguing that he once was watching a game being played by standing on sideline and he remembered the whole game like wtf man it was not even your own game!!! Mind boggling genius

    What a dep analyse. And then after the game Magnus said, he was disappointed, because he didn't see a faster way to finish it.
    So you can learn from him: Be never satisfied. Go for getting better and better. Every time, every single game.

    I am sorry I was not able to figure out but can someone please explain why Nodirbek resigned? Was there any mate ????

    • @Ace-Ace1
      @Ace-Ace1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There would have been a checkmate. Black bC3 can take the white rG7, but then the white rG2 would end it when moved up to rG7 after exchange because of white bE5.
      Black bE6 can force the check moving to bD5, but then white rG7 would defend down to rG2, which opens the checkmate regardless.
      Any other move will be too slow because white rG7 will be placed on rG8 and force another checkmate. That is why Sagar mentioned that Nodirbek blundered by not defending the black pB2 with his other rook on E1. Hopefully, that will explain everything
