LOL I loved watching your reaction! It makes me happy that you found out who Mysterial and Codel were from this video!
Yo brother love you're video
your videos are just so easy to watch, understand and enjoy. the amount of research, perfectly intentional editing (when the script lines up perfectly with the exemplar clip is chefs kiss) and the mastered video structure format all makes watching your vids an unparalleled pokemon retrospective video experience. keep it up plz
You are criminally underrated. I always wait for each upload with anticipation. 😁
Bro that explosion only trainer is the most diabolical I have ever seen Game Freak be. That guy really said “my main goal is to blow up.”
These trainers pop up in difficult rom hacks a lot and they are SO frustrating to deal with (looking at you CK+ )
It's not a Game Freak game
Its giving the everstone haunter trade girl a run for her money
The greatest part is that it actually works.
Shout-out to Genius Sonority
I'm surprised you didn't know how good Snorlax was in gen 2. In the words of Big Yellow: "There IS a strategy that involves not using Snorlax in gen 2. It's called losing."
If I were to describe Snorlax in reference to another series/game. He's basically the Brawl Meta Knight of Gen 2. Your pokemon's place in OU basically lives or dies on how good it is at either beating/chipping Snorlax or assisting Snorlax in surviving. That's how centralized it is.
Yeah. Like I heard that snorlax only has a 50% win rate in gsc because both teams have one so one snorlax Is going to lose.
@@GAMEFAN27 Why win rates aren't the end all metric. Generally if a pick (not just Pokemon but in general) has a really high win rate it's more likely to be a rare niche choice than simply very strong
.okoki.@@GAMEFAN27
In case some people don't know, the only reason why Snorlax wasn't banned in Gen 2 despite being this overcentralizing is because unfortunately Snorlax is literally the only Pokémon capable of breaking Special-Attacking Stall Pokémon. Banning it would result in matches taking even longer and being even more tedious than you already feel like they are. When you think about it, Gen 2 was extremely poorly balanced in a lot of ways...
I still love it, though. My nostalgia is just too strong. 😂
Mysterial is that kid that goes: Oh that's cool I want that on my team
And "accidentally" picks out the most broken pokemon
"I only play with my favourites"
*Picks 6 Ubers with Rain synergy*
I was one of the writers for the video along with Kellen and you have no idea how happy it made me to see your reaction! Really glad you enjoyed, we put a lot of effort and research into it and it came out incredibly! Loved the video reaction! You have earned a new subscriber and follower!
thank you for the great video!!
Thank you for the reaction! Was super fun to see!
@@MorePatterrz can you react to more of false swipes gaming's videos (I personally recommend "top 5 most broken pokemon", "why power isn't every, the rampardos theorem" and "how good was zygard actually" as good starting points) because more people need to know about them. they put a ridiculous amount of work into their videos, and they need more recognition.
Codel really just shows up, explodes and says nothing
I found a really fun way to make people mad in showdown is swords dance tera normal self-destruct Overqwil. I may have to run it with Gothitelle imprison now lol
32:45 In other words, Genius Sonority saw the (lack of) difficulty in fighting DP Champion Cynthia, made a mysterious NPC that *actually poses* an Avengers-level threat, and Platinum Cynthia stepped up her game just to still get outclassed because this rando used synergistic Ubers instead of simple powerhouses like Tobias.
Getting through all the Master Battle sets in Battle Revolution was an absolute nightmare for me. The fact that I completed the main game in like a day or 2, but then completing all of the Master Battle Sets took me around 10 years to complete, is absolutely insane to me. You better believe I popped off once I beat Mysterial in the end
I cant trade pokemon to battel revolution and because of this i lost against the second trainer in the Star turnament
Snorlax is the best Mon in gen 2 because it’s the best sleep/talk user (with return and earthquake coverage allowing it to beat everything but skarm) and its belly drum sets allowing it to sweep teams too
It was also the gen where sleep talk could call rest and it still worked, as well as the stats basically being maxed ev’d for each
Mysterial made Poketopia exclusively to make his own rules so he could run that team. You show up, you're in his world now, you dont get to complain. You agreed to this when you stepped foot on the island
Snorlax is peak male performance.
The Pokemon Colosseum/XD:GoD/BattleRev's Devs (Genius Sonority) really started out knowing nothing about Pokemon, then proceeded to make *Several* of the most Giga-Chad Teams in the entire franchise...💀
4:06 "Did he get fired from Team Rocket after he lost too much to a children"
Guess we're forgetting now that Giovanni disbanded Team Rocket late into the plot of Gen 1
It was gen 2 that Team Rocket disbanded. The end of gen 1 he just left Kanto and seemingly vanished.
@@Noobie2k7 It was Gen 1 he disbanded it. He is missing during Gen 2's events.
@@Noobie2k7 I see you've edited your reply to somewhat correct yourself, but the point still stands.
In Gen 1 Giovanni disbands Team Rocket after being defeated by Red on the last Gym Battle, then disappears.
In Gen 2 members of Team Rocket reorganized the team to still function and in hopes that their boss will return, only to be foiled by the protagonist of Gen 2, then disbands completely.
Megas hurting the Pokémon was a Gen 7 retcon and I will forever hate Game Freak for that.
8:43
That detail only came about when they were trying to downplay mega evolution.
Super Trainer Codel radiates gigachad energy
Halving defense is a big part of why explosion/self-destruct are beyond busted in gen 3 doubles, but there's another element:
You see, in gen 4 onwards, all multi-target moves, when able to hit multiple targets, get hit with a 25% damage reduction. This reduction applies even if the move fails to hit more than one target (say, you used earthquake, your ally pokemon is immune, and one of the opposing pokemon using protect; even though EQ only hit one mon for damage, it still gets the damage reduction because it tried to hit more than one).
This reduction also applies to gen 3... but only to multi target moves that can only hit the opposing pokemon; moves like blizzard, icy wind, or muddy water. Spread moves capable of hitting your own pokemon, such as earthquake, or say... self-destruct and explosion? They hit for full damage. On every pokemon.
But the actual nasty part of Codel isn't just his diabolical team strategy. It's the fact that he's trainer 6 in an 8 trainer gauntlet. For reference, the fight after him is a sun team with Groudon. The team after that is a rain team with kyogre. Trainer 3 in that gauntlet has a Rayquaza. Over the course of said gauntlet you encounter every one of the legendary beasts. Oh, and some of the pokemon there have optimized hidden powers for coverage/stab. There is absolutely a dragon dance hidden power flying Gyarados in that gauntlet.
Counter teaming Codel is easy. Counter teaming while also being able to deal with the 7 other cracked trainers in that gauntlet is a bit of a different story.
Oh, and that set of trainers isn't even the final challenge; beat the aforementioned rain team, and you still have all of Orre Colosseum to beat.
Challenges like Colosseum Battle Mode or XDs Orre Colosseum would be amazing in the current gen, both with how much the battle system has evolved and how easy it is to get competitive level mons; the biggest challenge of attempting fights like infin and inity isn't getting to them, it's the fact that getting competitive level pokemon is such a gigantic slog in gen 3 (even if you know how to rng manipulate), and is borderline impossible using just Colosseum. And also, y'know, game is 20 years old.
Same. As a casual, non competitive player, megas are THE best gimmick. Cannot wait for megas to come back
scarf spout kyogre was a terror in gen 4 and basically ran uncontested except for blissey or water absorb mons
5:56 you’re right. If that were the case, it would be more like “I scream, you scream, we all scream because of the ice cream Pokémon.”
I hope more people react to this vid, definitely one of my favorite from the False Swipe team
Hope you react to more of False Swipe's videos!
Codel isn't a construction worker.
He's a demolitian XD
i can't even be surprised that no one remembers bdsp ou
Eh, best to sweep anything to do with BD/SP under a rug and pretend that it never happened.
Aside from how they revamped Cynthia that is.
Damn, not matter the team he has, Red destroys trainers
As a Tennessee resident I can confirm we all look like Codel.
8:43
I completely hated how, at first, gen 6 said that Mega Evolution is the bond of friendship between trainer and Pokemon made manifest...
Only for gen 7 to come along and say "Nuh-uh! Mega Evolution is actually incredibly painful to the pokemon, and if you like using it, you're a bad person!"
Tbh those dex entries were probably based on mega Pokemon in the wild. It takes a strong bond of friendship to make the mega Pokémon not go crazy and destroy a bunch of stuff. It definitely hurts the Pokémon but so does the act of battling.
*clicks explosion**
*Wins**
Back during generation 6 there were some people that had their own league, along with their own gym leaders and i always loved the idea. One of them was a TH-camr with a Lucario pfp and they all had competitive teams. It seemed really fun and i wish i took part.
4:07 does he know the story in gen 1? he disbanded team rocket?
33:14 Bad memories started flooding in as soon as I saw this guy. To this day, I still can't believe I managed to beat him :0
I do want to point out in the all level 50 npc battling each other video AI Turo did beat out Sada at facing the entire list.... but in the Sada vs Turo fights specifically she won 76 of their 100 matches.
Okay so in reality the most competitively viable characters are Pokemon’s Unibomber, Two Elderly twins named after a business Eon Musk would buy, Crasher Wake, and a cheating all ubers using Magician?
I think I’ll stick to simping for Cynthia for now…
Codel: I don't need to win, you just need to lose.
I remember watching this video while doing laundry. Pog
Man seems to have forgotten than Hippowdon has sand stream, lol.
Elementary School Kid during Pokemon's Heyday: "A Team of Three Starters and Three legendaries has got to be the most broken thing ever."
Suzuki Yusuke: **laughs in team without either**
It would have to be Cynthia as her team has good typing balance, great offensive threats, and good defensive pokemon. The main flaw with her team is that she has a Gastrodon when she already has Milotic as her main water type, but Platinum does fix this by giving her a Togekiss.
Edit: Lol, I forgot Mysterial exists.
Honestly, I hope they put VGC players as NPCs. Imagine going thru something like a battle tower and Wolfey walks out with a perish trap team 😮💨
I think another interesting exercise would be ranking competitive viability based only on the regional Pokedexes of where they mainly appear.
0:09 bottom left corner
Codel’s team is basically a “fuck you” team
Just opened the vid I’m guessing Wally from the Oras battle Maison
Edit: I was close😅
My guess is we will see pokemon colosseum on here more than once
As a Battle Revolution player, I was wondering where Mysterial was. I knew he had to be on this list but I don’t think he’d be all the way at the top! That’s crazy! Also Pat, I have, I have gotten this far.
11:01 no it doesnt? this is gen two?
3:20 pretty sure she actually has one in the BW anime
22:57 - You get The Coolest Exclusive Ribbon on the 6 Pokemon that you beat the challenge with, which in Gen 8 and further games gives the equipable Title "Go --- The 100x Victorious!"
Said Ribbon/Title cannot be gained anywhere else and is the "farthest way" you can trade a Pokemon from oldest to newest games legitimately. (Gen 1 and 2 don't count due to 3ds ports skipping several Gens)
Mind you GSC Snorlax has a 50% win rate because it's used in EVERY single team in OU and Ubers.
25:17 my brother played the game before me and the only fight he struggled on was this one, so I meticulously strategized using an insane Tera Ice Excadrill
GG to get mentiont on History of Pokémon TH-cam ✌️
A super cool idea would be to play a pokemon game and have your friends be the gym leaders u can set a level cap and they can use any move that Pokemon can learn at that point of the game they can pick a team of 6 from Pokemon available at that point in the game lol 😂 idk just throwing out an interesting idea
Y'know what else canonically hurts pokemon? A thunderbolt to the dome.
my greatest achievement as a kid was beating infin and inity with no knowledge of IVs or EVs at the time.
Sleep clause isnt actually a thing anymore in current gen OU. Sleep moves are banned as a whole but theoretically you can sleep an entire team with moves such as relic dance or effect spore
...I fought Mysterial in singles and it was hell. Lasted 4 hours because while my Latios (Lato), Metagross and my Tyranitar did really, REALLY well, it still ended up coming down to a struggle match between my Togekiss (Tamo) and his Double Team spamming Giratina in the endless Sandstorm hell my Tyranitar summoned up, which I only won because I managed to get +2 with Ancient Power omniboosts (even luckier than it sounds given my Tamo had Hustle rather than Serene Grace) and timed my Wish heals well.
(Looking at the mon list here I'm guessing I only fought his first 'variant' or that was his platinum specific team? Not sure. But I REALLY remember than fight and I never ever want to play another battle like that ever again even if it cemented my love and respect for the Togekiss line forever XD)
8:05 current sleep clause banned sleep inducing moves such as yawn, sing, sleep powder ect...
Edit:I forgot gen 7 was being viewed Idk abt that gens sleep clause
Gen 7 you could only put one opponent's pokemon to sleep at a time. Gen 5 is the only other gen I know of with a full sleep ban (in that case due to a bug with how sleep turns are calculated)
@@Ariento thx for info
Without watching this (or the original) and assuming that the only constant is gonna be Pokemon but the trainers are allowed to change moves and abilities, then almost definitely gotta be either Hau or Kukui with Incineroar.
I remember specifically making a counter sun team do beat Mysterial in Battle Revolution (as well as some scumbag movesets)
The whole tourney is all 4 weather teams followed by this broken team
COLOSSEUM REPRESENTED WOO YEAH BABY WOO YEAH
I did the MT. Battle grind too, the Ho-oh was worth it. It sits in my Pokemon HOME box nowadays, though transferring it up was a pain in the ass
4:08 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had trouble with Drayton as well when i beat him i was thinking how tough are the others gonna be and he was the hardest fight and i picked to fight him first
It took me forever to defeat the dragon type bb e4 guy but I defeated the other three first try
Love your content 😊😊
Still hate that about mega evolution. Because in the first ever instance of it was shown that it was a completely positive effect. The pokemon enjoyed being mega'd... but because Game freak wanted to get rid of it they tried manipulating us into disliking it.
12:11 Wait, it's the Zigzagoon shinny too?
Codel's team is funny af
Pog
Godel is downright devious
when we getting patterrz reacting to shiny reactions
can patterz please react to pokedads 256 trainer pokemon ai tournament? he pit 256 unique trainers against each other with thier canon teams using the same ai to find the strongest trainers when you put all of them on equal footing at the same level
I didn’t have a problem with drayton only because I was playing through the academy with an ice/snow shiny team.
Yeah, GSC Snorlax was the best Pokemon in Gen 2 period. This is a small excerpt from Snorlax's GSC Ubers summary.
"Snorlax's sole presence warps the entire metagame around it".
GSC Snorlax is basically god, it would probably be in GSC AG if GSC went by more modern tiering standards. It's has near 100% usage for a reason.
as a fellow filthy casual I agree im excited for more megas and megas to just come back in general. x)
I played the indigo league 4 times now. On every pleythrough with different teams Drayton was the easiest. No slouch but fairy is easily the hardest for me every run. Sure one time i was using mono fairy but usually i dont even run fairy on the team. The girls were stronger battlers constistantly
Tbf fairy and steel are easily the two best types in the game while dragon is… not. Like not even close
@Rarest26 why is fairy so overpowered? People place it top 2. Wouldnt it be top 6 or 7?
Why is dragon not close to top?
I think steel, ground and water rank higher
you keep pay attention to the move even thou he tell you to ignore the move.
You should do a then we fight with mysterio’s team against someone who can choose any ou squad
Would love if you reacted to Keegan J's "Rigged" Pokemon Rom. It's a wild ride and makes you reconsider your Luck in a game.
I had 0 problems with Kieran lol
I still get weirded out when people talk about Kieran... Playing through the DLC was pretty strange. 😂
Honestly, if it was me, I'd take the hwole 'mega evolution hurts the pokemon using it' thing and just make it 'keystones help stabilize mega evolution so it doesn't hurt the pokemon'. Go along with how Pokemon using Mega Evolution in Super Mystery Dungeon went berserk due to using looplets instead of Keystones and proper mega evolving items.
yay!
Crasher wake with drizzle just means 100 percent accurate thunder. So not sure he'd bea threat, lol
You have to survive or be faster than his 4 swift swimmers to use it though lol. Remember that this is for a theoretical OU tournament where you're expecting a lot of different kinds of teams, not an in game fight that you can look up and counter team. In that context any given OU team would have maybe 2 checks to strong water mons, and they'd simply be overwhelmed by the rain onslaught
22:21 RAZAQUAZ???? WHAT?????
Anyone know where he got that hoodie? I want one
Wonder when he's going to react to FSG's broken Pokemon list.
Who would have known the best NPC trainers barely have any videos on them because even those who have Pokémon Colosseum don’t really know who these guys are.
I mean rain dance and water types or hail and ice types kind of destroys Giovanni, lol
Cynthia is more of a huge threat, lol
20:52 thats xd
I really hope you'll react to false swipe gaming's theorem videos they're really good.
I was one of the people who faced Mysterial.
You should watch FSG’s video on the most powerful Pokemon of all time
How is the champion having three moves even possible?
You see, the npcs in Pokemon games don't have a lot of moves and aren't trying to be insanely competitive because the games are designed for 12 year olds...
If it’s doubles, put some respect on Eldes from Pokemon XD. Dude has a stupid strong team that is EV trained and nearly perfect IVs.
I have battel revolution and mysticus in his first fight is also broken. I dient beat the turnament to come to him with this broken team. I dient eventuell know about this . And to defeat him zhe first time 1 needet 17 tries and in the first battel ifoght against him he swept me with dragonair golbat and kingler
25:04
Drayton was a push over compared to Kieran, and I’m not even good at competitive
Plz react to Metroid timeline

Short answer bdsp Cynthia
5:50 you could say that..iscream.
