I may be far away in Scotland but I can verify that. It's partly what I came here to say. In my opinion NZ music doesn't get enough recognition. Bic Runga, Boh Runga and stellar* Headless Chickens Cruise Control, Anika Moa, Strawpeople, The Feelers, Dave Dobbyn.

I read where years ago, the brothers and their families use to meet up at restaurants at home in NZ, and take their guitars. They'd sit and play ideas for songs. Imagine being lucky enough to be in the restaurant on one of those nights... Oh, and again, thanks Dei, great choices.

Neil Finn, the singer of this song, is one of the great songwriters of the world. His song writing skills are another level. He gets so much praise from many international stars. Hes good friends with Dave Mustaine, the co founder and lead singer of Megadeath, and was for a time, touring with Fleetwood Mac as their lead vocalist. Even though he not well know as an international star, he has great respect from most in the music world and his peers. Some artists to have covered his music include Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and hes played with and sung with Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder, who actually sung " I See Red " song at a concert.

The live arrangement of this song has changed over the years, and always sounds great. When Split Enz officially broke up in 1983, they had a farewell tour titled "Enz With a Bang!" in 1984. In that tour Neil played a great guitar solo at the end of the song.

I am so blessed to have seen Crowded House in 1992 when they were at the top of their game, when half through their set, Tim Finn came out on stage and joined his brother Neil Finn in a historic reunion of Split Enz, and the crowd went crazy, holding up album covers of Split Enz records. It was like an unexpected Beatles reunion. It was epic! If you don't know who the Split Enz were, it's like not knowing who were the predecessors of Crosby Stills and Nash were. You missed one oi the most important contributions to modern rock history.

I don’t have a clue who you are, the algoritme brought me here but while you discovered this pearl, may i suggest also the solo Tim Finn, and REM, The Smiths, Counting Crows, The Cure, Talk Talk, China Crisis, Pearl Jam, Crowded House ( Love this Life/ She goes on / there goes god/ world were you live), and going really crazy, Dutch bands like Ten Sharp You, Doe Maar, Bløf, Acda & de Munnik. Keep this spirit going 😀, thnx from Amsterdam Holland.

This song is from the mid 80's, so I guess they played it live a few times. Hence, the being in sync. Tim Finn and Neil Finn are brothers from rural Te Awamutu in NZ. The rest of the band are top musicians. It's interesting to see the style of music in Split Enz started with Tm Finn and Phil Judd and Neil picked up a lot of that and added his style.

Neil Finn replaced Lindsy Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac when he was kicked up the proverbial and fired. And guys, the Finn brothers, Tim was on accoustic, are kiwis(that means from New Zealand). Not Australia.
