This was fun! What a hoot! Inbetweenies by Ian Dury is this era, and goofy, but not as much as this. Have a listen. The message is great and the music is surprising.
Mental notes from 1975 is my favorite album! There are many early videos like this one online but you do have to search. I recommend getting the song titles off the album discography and look them up because sometimes they don’t come up. Mostly their 80s new wave stuff not their Prog, and But that’s good too!!!
Hi Lee. As a kiwi I grew up on this weird and whacky stuff. A classic. May I recommend a song by them called Spellbound. The remade version on their album “The beginning of the Enz” is the best by far in my opinion.
Fun fact, the drummer Paul Crowther is also the creator of the famous Hot Cake guitar pedal. He's an electronics guru and brilliant sound engineer.

Split Enz is a great band. You should check out “Six Months In A Leaky Boat” and” Dirty Creature”. Other great songs are “I See Red” “I Got You”
I know Split Enz, but I had never seen this video before. Really enjoyed it! Great suggestion and reaction.
Thank you for watching my friend! I appreciate it. This was nuts lol
I had no idea this band went back so far. I only knew the early '80s stuff. Respect for how wild they are.

I like how the drummer is the only one with normal hair.
So excited! I was expecting a few fans and comments! 😅😅
A wonderful band from Australia that appeared in Their 1980 Debut Album (True Colors)has become a Classic to rediscover! So tight and Melodic! 👌
It really is melodic and quite catchy underneath the avant garde exterior 😄 I'm gonna check out more for sure
They're from New Zealand not Australia. Try "My Mistake" and "I Got You". True Colours wasn't their debut album, it was actually their 5th album
Sorry about misinformation … it was the first album I got to know from them thanks for updating me!
New Zealand!
@@janewells5970 Now i know, ☺️…I only read that ‘true Colours’ was recorded in Australia. (ref: the album liner)
Sweet .these guys were trippy af . Great Ozzie band.
New Zealand band!
@@notgidget-sf8vy we claim them and Russell crow😆
You 'got' them straight away. Cool.
There's so many more excellent BETTER songs from this early incarnation of the band
Punk Vaudeville? Hard to classify these guys - but they are amazing.
OK go watch 12 ft Ninja, One Hand Killing. You'll love it. Do the video the sound is great.
I've heard of them before but never listened I'll check em out!
Not my fave by them but more Slit Enz please
I like how the drummer is the only one with normal hair.
...that you can see.
