    Thank you!! I came back home from a backpack trip in severe pain from scoliosis. The stretches are helping to settle down my convex side pain, and I can even start doing the exercises. I am going to do this every day.

    That last ballerina stretch is even more effective when done holding onto a doorway. The last strengthening exercise was said to strengthen the convex side. Not what you should aim for. The swimming exercises were on point though.

      Hi cinnamon girl: Thanks for the ballerina door stretch suggestion. Yes research is showing that you want to strengthen the concave side to recover atrophied muscles to straighten the spine. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6310602/ The swimming exercise are definitely effective. Cheers!

      Thank you for your comment and interest in swimming exercises for scoliosis. It's important to note that I cannot make recommendations on specific cases if I have not performed a physical examination. I can only provide general advice based on common principles. Here's an overview that may be of interest:
      Swimming Exercises and Scoliosis:
      Freestyle Swimming:
      General Advice: May help align the body's symmetry, essential in managing scoliosis. Focus on even strokes to support spinal alignment.
      Breaststroke:
      General Advice: Can encourage upright posture, counteracting tendencies associated with scoliosis. Proper guidance is crucial.
      Water Aerobics and Core Strengthening:
      General Advice: Core strengthening exercises can stabilize the spine, supporting areas affected by scoliosis.
      Backstroke (with Caution):
      General Advice: While potentially beneficial, care must be taken to maintain spinal alignment.
      Tai Chi and Scoliosis:
      In addition to swimming, Tai Chi might be a useful practice to explore:
      General Advice: Emphasizes alignment, balance, flexibility, and body awareness, all valuable in managing the asymmetry associated with scoliosis.

    How many times should you perform these exercises a day and how many repetitions?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, thanks for watching. Unfortunately, I cannot give advice or comment on specific cases without performing a physical examination, taking a complete history, and reviewing imaging. This is something we cannot do online. That being said, I recommend discussing the exercises in the video with your physician to ensure they are appropriate for your specific case. Generally, the frequency and repetitions of exercises can vary, so it's best to get a personalized recommendation from your healthcare provider.

    My scoliosis angels are minor however the pain is on 8 9 level if I do not do the exercises I have uneven shoulders not huge and it become irritating working on laptop even stretches to expand my chest do not help I should tilt with this child pose to strecth SA and LD - is pain proportional with the degree? it can become depressing I am thinking to change country for a job opportunity and I am worrying I will leave my PT who I can go for sessions in case I am extremly tired

      Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words about the video. I understand it's challenging to manage discomfort, especially when you're experiencing a high level of pain. While I’m not in a position to offer specific medical advice without a physical exam, it’s important to remember that pain levels are not always directly proportional to the severity of the scoliosis curvature. Each individual’s experience of scoliosis is unique, and many factors can contribute to pain. It would be beneficial to continue working with healthcare professionals who can guide you, especially if considering relocation. Keep communication open with your current physical therapist about your plans, as they might recommend colleagues or resources in the new country. Take care and I wish you the best with your health and your job opportunity.

    Can you stretch both sides? Also how often do you recommend this routine?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Rob: "If your lower-back curvature bends to the left, you would do the stretch on the right side; if it bends to the right, the stretch would be performed on the left." That being said, the strengthening exercise a key aspect of any Scoliosis exercise program. Cheers

    Hey, can i strenghten only the convex side of my body?

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Anonymous Man: You can strengthen the convex side, for example, "performing side plank on the convex thoracic side (concavity up) can help strengthen elongated muscles on this side by placing them in a relatively shortened position, and helps to open the concave side, working these muscles eccentrically." Cheers!
