Tall Bob may be interested to investigate the drug Etanercept! It is injected into the spine (perispinal etanercept) and the patient is tipped backwards to encourage the drug to enter the brain. It is being used for stroke patients and there are trials of the drug for the purpose of helping stroke patients and there has been some miraculous results. The drug is also a possible treatment in people with Long Covid. I wonder if it would Bobs ataxia. th-cam.com/video/-nEtQ-Wxkas/w-d-xo.html

I agree. It's sad they have to put that message at the beginning. I had a brain tumor removed and had aphasia. They basically removed me from a lot of my duties (I was in training for the management position) even though my brain was working just fine. I just couldn't get words out unless I wrote them and it was temporary as I healed. I would get in trouble for emailing and cc'ing people instead of talking directly to them. Unfortunately I live in an at will state so it's not illegal.

Your videos have helped me so much, because not a day goes by where I'm not trying to stretch, strengthen, get something to release, etc. It never ends. One thing I know after my 40+ years on this planet as a disabled person is that all branches of medicine are pretty darn ableist, and medicine-- especially the rehab disciplines benefit so much from the presence of disabled providers. The best SLP and the best OT I know both have CP as well. They understand disability and rehab with an entirely different depth. We need you and your expertise here. I think your dx is new. It's a gutpunch-- I'm no Pollyanna. But I hope you keep doing videos and sharing your wisdom and expertise with us and with your patients. We need you in the rehab space so badly.

I was recently diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. My Rheumatologist questioned as to whether or not I suffered from hip or SI pain. I was thrilled! Absolutely, I replied, I have episodes of not being able to extend to an upright position when exiting my vehicle. It's as though my Pelvis and lower back are "locked" I call it a "catch". Once I rotate my hip a few times I hear a loud "click" & I'm able to move freely. In a standing position, if I march in place, the click can be heard each time my left knee is raised. Yall's videos are giving me the confidence to explore different methods of relieving the pain and hopefully end this horrible clicking. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve been watching your videos for about 5 years when I suffered 11 vertebral compression fractures with no known cause. I’d been fighting cancer for about the same amount of time so that caused a lot of pain. Wasn’t till I started watching your videos and trying some of the great tips you both share that I started getting relief. I’m very sorry about your Ataxia Bob and I hope you can make a full recovery.

You two are my go -to both for self diagnosis and self-treatment. today not sure my issue is my SI joint, but sure sounds like it from the description of where the pain manifests. Your first test (on an another session) does tend to point that way. But I just can't pop it or move it or make walking comfortable. I will try again tomorrow (I know, if it hurts don't do it). Thanks

If you're still having SI pain, it could be Ankylosing Spondylitis. I'm 50 in a few months and I've had it since I was about 10 years old, maybe younger. Only diagnosed about 5 years ago, so the damage that was done is mostly untreatable. Of course, the physical therapists I've had over the years were never as knowledgeable as you two! So I'm going to give your exercises a try to hopefully get some relief!

Dear Bob, What a shining example of positivity in the throws of suffering you are showing us. You are a truly compassionate individual. I am going to suggest you try psilocybin... it has remarkable healing properties in the brain, but most doctors can not even mention it to patients. I have a very serious brain condition called trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs) very rare and is said to be the most painful condition known to man that does not kill you. Imagine an ice cream headache or brain freeze X10 that does not stop for 3-10 hours. They come every day and night for weeks without a break. Psilocybin is the leading treatment to break the cycle. At the very least discus this treatment as an option with your neurologist.
