So true. I love all of the Brit Pop and Rock from the mid 90s and 2000s.
The thing is, Noel in particular would elevate tiny bands by seeming to talk shit about them. Like, you would read an interview with NG and he’d say “you know who’s ripping us the fook off is Cast and Embrace and Menswear…”
Which pretty much just guaranteed those bands would all see a spike in their sales just because Noel was talking about them.
Unfortunate that you felt the need to make that up. 🎉

Noel is my second favorite songwriter ever.
He knows what melodies and notes go together. He knows what people with good taste want to hear. live forever is one of the best songs ever written.
We needed Oasis in the 90’s. They were a breath of fresh air.

Blink is incredibly similar to Oasis. Terrible musicians, cliche 4 chord songs, silly lyrics, and caricature like personalities.
The difference is that Blink is self aware. They know they suck. And they know that we know that they suck. And that is what's fun.
Oasis is kind of the opposite, which i assume is a cultural difference in taste and humor between the US and the UK. They act like the are amazing, even though they know they suck, and we know they suck, but everyone seems to be in on the joke.

Yeah, the first 2 albums are good but after it’s just the same bit regurgitated unoriginal pop rock anthemic by the numbers uninspired tepid shite. Liam solo is dreadfully dad rock dull and Noel solo just redundant and boring. Oasis is overrated.

@@joshd8777 My opinion is based on the fact that I am 45 years old. I went with my friend Omar to Sam Goody to buy Definitely Maybe when I was 15 years old weeks after it came out. I bought Be Here Now when it came out days before heading up to college. I even bought the Standing Shoulders Giants crap still giving them a chance. Every album after that is worse and worse and worse.

Oasis may not be to your taste, but the immense success, respect from other bands (as seen in this video), and influence on other bands speaks for itself.
