The truth is, growing up I always thought Oasis was the best band. But as an adult I can see that Blur was doing shit that Oasis would not even get close to. Damon knows that their simplicity was more welcomed by a younger audience, compared to Blur’s more layered and thoughtful music.

@@raydoalonsozorrilla-riese7098 Very true. Oasis are great at what they do but their musical vision is very narrow. Blur however, really push the boat out when it comes to experimentation. And the lyrics are WAY better.

Also his solo career is by far the best out of the four. “All Things Must Pass” is honestly good enough to be a full Beatles album. Maybe so, but they have very strong personalities between them, and that is all that people see. I think that's defining feature of Oasis, their attitude outweighs their musical abilities. Phil Collins' music is grocery store, "waiting in line at the deli" or "on hold" music.
You don't hear Phil Collins when you're out enjoying a grand time. You hear Phil Collins when you wanna GTFO of wherever you are and go home. It's there as not only a reminder, but also an extra incentive for you to leave.
I don't recall ever hearing Oasis at the mundane grocery store, in elevators, or while waiting for medical procedures.
Phil Collins is here for that.

I think George Harrison is allowed to say what he thinks, but in this case it was kinda rude and mean, because he definitely knew that he was Liam's idol and that his words would hurt his feelings.
He didn't even have to lie about it, just being quiet would have been enough.
