This song makes me think of my mom and what she went through before she died. Today is her birthday, and as long as my mind still remembers her she'll never be gone.
My mother passed away after having a stroke and being paralyzed and mute for 18 years. We read the lyrics from Wings for Marie/10,000 Days at her funeral. "Shake your fist at the gates....give me my wings" 🪽
100% !!! One of the most beautiful sections of any song ever. Chills, tears, all of it. I'm here for it. And Sevsimo's eyes bugging out 😳 makes me think he agrees.
The way the guitar cascades during the "reminding myself of this" section is nuts. Adam is a master of textural guitar work... Reminds me a lot of Jimi Hendrix weirdly enough
TOOL is one of those groups whose music, if you're new and wanting to check them out, has to begin with something familiar...like The Pot or Sober. Once you train your mind to accept this higher level of music creation and execution, the true appreciation comes through in every song they have. As you said, "You cannot go wrong with TOOL", and it's absolutely true. Been listening and appreciating their music since 1993 and it never, ever, gets old.
Your passionate reactions to Tool were the main reason I instantly subscribed to your channel; thanks for another great reaction! This song is an excellent example of how Tool has a fulfilling restorative effect on me: it doesn't matter how many times I listen to it, I always experience a state of enhanced mind combined with clearity of soul. You'll also love the song "Invincible" 👌
Just seen Tool for my 3rd time a few days ago, they are mesmerizing!! The Grudge, 46&2, Fear Inoculum, The Patient, The Pot, Pushit, Pneuma, Jambi, Invincible and Stinkfist was the set. I had never seen 46&2, Jambi and Stinkfist live so it was extra special! You HAVE to see them live my man
Aussie, it's 6:19 a.m. in SoCal, and that CD, is in my disc changer, and I will be working out to it soon, in my home gym, (vacant bedroom) Alice in chains, temple of the dog and perfect circle 13th step, and Iron Maiden fear of the dark, are also in there, it's old school 5 disc changer ...tool army est.1993!!!
The first thing that grabbed me with this song was that chuggy breakdown about 2/3 of the way through. Then the more i listened to it waiting for that breakdown the more i began to appreciate and love the rest of the song and the way its put together with all its subtle tones and intricate details. One of my favorites.
They really capture the struggle (both musically and lyrically) that goes on in our minds about being patient, should I quit or stick it out. Be Patient...Wait it out. Your success as a human being requires patience. Great song, great reaction.
We could feel you feeling the song brother, loud and clear. That final movement that leads in with, "I certainly would have walked away-" then crescendoes with instruments pushing hard but that all coalesce around a beautiful harmony and vocals, "-by now, and I still may. And I still may. And I still may. And I..." That whole passage is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Twenty-two years since Lateralus was released and it still hasn't lost its power or grandeur.
Hope all is well bro! Been waiting a while for you to cover this one! Pure succulency! 22 years later and an unimaginable amount of listens, this one still gets me. I mean every track of theirs does. Can’t wait for you to check out Ticks and Leeches. Make sure you’re ready for that one lol. Take it easy brotha!
I'm praying this is on the setlist for either Aftershock, or the show in Eugene or Portland as I'm going to all 3!!! Also, I wonder how many people chucked when you said this has to be the best song. Of course, all their songs are best songs though!
I would listen to this song on my way home from work from Hollywood to Palos Verdes every day… and saved my life once when I gave into patience just as a semi truck smashed through the lane on the 405 that I almost moved into. Everyone in the car hit and the car in front of them died. I would have been car number 1. “Be Patient” was the lyric being played in my ear seconds before this crash.
This is “quintessential” Tool. Maybe that’s what you were looking for 😁 Also …. Ahem …. *clears throat*…. Invent Animate - Shade Astray Periphery - Satellites #teamchoppydrops #blastintillwegetin 🤘🤘
I’ve been travelling for work so only catching up now. Great song and another excellent reaction. Love that you love this. “I must keep reminding myself of this, be patient” .. a song to live by. Grá Mór from Ireland 🇮🇪
Quite possibly my fave drop by Tool. That first one. You hear it coming. they tell you it's coming. And you just have to wait. Powerless to stop it. Sort of like when Larry Bird would tell defenders, "Inbounds pass coming to me. I'm going to pivot, fake right, then drain a three.
and it's another home run for this album! another band who gave us many home runs is RUSH! another very deep rabbit hole to fall into! keep having fun!
Awesome reaction ,this song creates an atmosphere that a lot of people had been through or might have to go through in life! Great review & reaction!..🤘👍
Bro I love this channel! For 20+ years you can just throw on Lateralus and heal your soul from start to finish 🙏 love to see new listeners experience it!
Another banger of a reaction, thank you my bro, keep them coming! Just an idea, as you always say you listen to the song on repeat after the first listen, maybe you could record a reaction after you have delved deeper into the songs and looked at the lyrics and meanings etc. would be cool to see that.
Pure succulence! Definitely a very well thought out track, the picking of the guitars is like a ticking clock. The Patient could be MJK’s Mom, or MJK being patient, or being patient in general. Tool has an incredible way of immersing you into the lyrics and music. Sev, another banger is Ticks & Leaches on this album that you still have to check out. Love the reaction bro, see you on the next one! 🌀🤘
Certainly great at leaving subliminal messages which makes the tracks so much better spiking intrigue! Can't wait for Ticks and Leaches man have read nothing but juicy things about it! Cheers my bro glad you enjoyed the reaction! 🤘🤘
Choppy Drops! Your reactions are so good, we can feel your joy. I’m also impressed that you have restrained yourself and not listened to the whole album, well done! I have also just discovered the industrial metal band called 3TEETH that is so, so juicy. Just in case you haven’t checked them out before. Rock on 🤘🤘
It's been a challenge not hitting play and just vibing out to their whole catalogue haha Will have to check them out, never heard of them thank you! Really appreciate the comment glad you're enjoying the reactions!! 🤘🤘
I love you man. Your energy is what this world needs.
Thanks my man!

Same!! 🖤💯🖤
my mom's birthday is also today wtf

Tool fans always say their favorite song is the one they're currently listening to. Every track is a banger, keep up the Tool reactions!
Just imagine waiting 6 yrs for this album and "the grudge" and "eon blue/the patient are the first 2 songs you hear to start the album off. 😵💫
The change starting at 8:50 gives me the chills every time. One of my favorite parts of any tool song
100% !!! One of the most beautiful sections of any song ever. Chills, tears, all of it. I'm here for it. And Sevsimo's eyes bugging out 😳 makes me think he agrees.
When maynard goes up an octave or two on the third, "I must KEEP RE.. MIND... ING.. MY... SELF... OF... THIS..." Man, I get goosebumps every time.
LEGIT chills. Every single time.
@@edrueter9 yup absolutely

Bro hasn't done Ticks and Leeches yet?????? CHOOOOOOPPPPPPPPYYYYY DDRROOOPPPPPPPP
Yes bro! This was my favorite for EVER until I heard Descending. You can hear Jazz Danny a lot in this one.
You HAVE to see them live my man
They are UNBELIEVABLE live!! Absolutely great!! 🤘💯
Sounds like the same set as the last show I saw. A couple months earlier they changed a few songs up.
dog i wanted to see them so bad when they were in STL but i was not gonna pay $700 for a pit ticket xddd
@@thepersonwithaface45 Prices are wild
Ahhh!! Freaking awesome love, love TOOL!! One of my absolute fav bands ever!! Stay awesome Sevsimo!! 🖤🤘 love it when you do a TOOL song!!
Thank you for the awesome reaction to some juicy Tool! 🤘🤟
Adam had a Great Dane called Eon Blue. The "..Apocalypse" was his passing
Yes I totally agree, this is one of my favorite Tool songs that gets lost in the sauce sometimes
I sent an artwork to the band a year after this album was released, surrounded by the words;
Powerful
Uncut
Raw
Emotion
There's
Only
One
Leader
One word to describe tool you don't hear often: cuddly. But I will go to my grave saying Adam is a GIANT CUDDLE MONSTER!

……one of my favorites 🌀👁🌀 but than again, I say that to myself about every T⚙️⚙️L song that I’m listening too at the time 🤪👁
Definitely one of there most underrated songs.
Not sure they are underrated... I saw them in 2020 and at the moment Eon started the crowd went nuts. We all knew what was coming.
Best part about this song is that you get to hear every aspect of TOOL
This song is that gourmet, succulent, most satisfying sonic and lyrical meal your soul has been craving! Excellent reaction!
Now that's a damn good statement right there haha!
Cheers my friend 🤘
One of Tool’s best
Haha TOOL is Succulent!!!! You know it's a masterpiece when you get stank face before it even drops 🤣🤌👏🤟
Nobody really under-rates Tool songs, but if they have one in their discography that is not appreciated enough, it's The Patient.
Loving your Tool reactions…I never get tired of seeing people discover them.
My favorite metal band. Not ashamed to say so.
There's no shame in that. ✌️
My fav band all genres.
Yep, it doesn’t get better than Tool
Yes!! 💯💯🤘
Why would you be ashamed? They're one of the most popular and praised bands ever
sevsimo, this ALBUM is EPIC. ✌️
YESSSS! Another epic Tool Reaction!

Yes, TOOL is both a noun (the band) and an adjective (description of their unique, otherworldly sound)… 👌
Good form doing the little russian 'Eon Blue Apocalypse' intro thing first , the whole album is gold

I'm warming myself up from now for Ticks and Leeches then haha!
Thanks my bro hope you've been well also!
@@sevsimoouhh, TICKS AND LEECHES!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love this one!
They should have named their group TRUTH, because that's what their music in addition to their lyrics say to me.
This one has such a powerful sound, especially when it builds to the end
I must keep reminding myself of this I must keep reminding myself of this I must keep reminding myself of this I must keep reminding myself of this
The second half of the is song is some of the most perfect music ever written.
I'm praying this is on the setlist for either Aftershock, or the show in Eugene or Portland as I'm going to all 3!!! Also, I wonder how many people chucked when you said this has to be the best song. Of course, all their songs are best songs though!
The patient...referring to you, the listener as a patient being healed by the song, by learning the value of patience.
Possibly TOOL's most beautiful piece. Just stunning....and so powerful.
Very underrated song, but my fav.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that "air drums". Catch myself sometimes, people probably think I'm crazy. Probably am, but hey we are TOOL fans.
Ah Tool!!!! I need a chefs kiss here.
one of my favorites. awesome light show when played live

Many years of listening to this album in my garage with my hookah. Good times
You still have Culling Voices, Invincible, Jimmy, H., Eulogy, HWAP, and more songs off undertow to discover lol
Omg yes, Sev still hasn’t heard H.! H. was my introduction to tool and I’ve never looked back
Eulogy is probably gonna break his legs!
It's their most underrated song IMO. Have you done Intolerance? Please do.. another one to keep the socks off for. 🔥
I haven't but will definitely be checking it out my man haha I'll keep the socks in the drawer then!
Yeah to the comment below, you such a funny, energic and seems to be a great guy. Thank you again for the review :)
