That was a 25 second long primal scream to let out all the grief, anger, resentment, pain, sadness, and grudges. This song is about letting go of the negative feelings that hold you back from becoming your authentic self. This song incorporates astrology and psychology to get this point across. The mythology of Saturn and how it relates to the morality of forgiveness and personal growth is important to understand the concept of the song, but not necessary to enjoy the song as a whole. Welcome to the Tool Army.
24/25 seconds of pure primal scream Let GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO … I had the pleasure of seeing Tool play in Dublin , in May 2022. They played this and Maynard gripped the rail , deep breath, walked to the front of the podium and gave it all he had. Amazing moment 🤘🏼
I first heard this song live. I was aware of Tool and a few of their songs. A friend of mine wanted to go see their show in our city. They started with Sober, which was my favorite of theirs at that time, and then played this. Hearing Maynard do that yell live was something else. I went to the store the next day and bought that album so I could hear it again.
Their first album (Undertow) is about addiction and abuse. Their second album (Aenima) is about facing the real world and not really caring for what you see. And their third album (Lateralus) is about rising above and becoming one with it all. Some bands make concept albums that follow a theme. Tool is the only band that I know of that has made a concept discography. In my opinion anyway.
Interesting take, I like it. How does Fear Inoculum fit in your opinion? To me it's about being older and wiser from your past experiences, and ready to fight for what little beauty you have found.
In the beginning, he says "clutch it like a cornerstone, otherwise it all comes down." At the end, when he finally "gives away the stone" and lets go, after something has been BEGGING him to let it go, the sound of the drums rolling is everything coming down finally and resolving.
Bro as a fellow skippy...I am becoming addicted to your reactions. We would probably never have associated in school years, yet I am drawn to your pure honest reactions. Massive respect bro, finally subscribed after many reaction vids. We are brothers of different mother's, thank you and please keep it up...loving your spiritual journey bro. X
Every time I listen to another Tool song, I say, “this is my new favorite!” That list is an endless injection of hand tapping, finger strumming, head bobbing, high energy grins!!!
TOOL does an outstanding job at captivating you with their lyrics as well as the visual content of their videos. Please when you're listening to these songs for a second, third or whichever time, I'd urge you to watch along with the videos to immerse yourself in the complete TOOL experience.

If you want to feed your greed check out the Holy Trinity. It is 3 Tool songs (Disposition/Reflection/Triad). Play them in that order and treat them as one. It may be the indulgence you seek. An incredible experience for the mind.
Dude this song helped me let go of a grudge i had with past abuse and man.. it made me cry tears of love and compassion. These guys are wizards. Shining like gold now
I really enjoy genuine reactors like you.. It gives a lot of us Tool fans a chance to relive our first time .LOL.. It was '93 and Sober was on Mtv ..Undertow has great Bass riffs .. Give Swamp song and intolerance a try next.
Could double up and do the original Pushit + the one from Salival in one video. I feel as if heading straight at the Salival version is sort of skipping prerequisites.
When we become of this world in the womb we hear the beat of two drums. The heartbeat of your mother and your own. They are 'polyrhythmic', by nature. Add the rest and you have Tool. Great reactions. All us Tool fans (including you), feel what you're saying:)
Top 5 Tool song on my fav list. Brilliance on another level right here. Love your reactions, keep em coming. Let's just react to Tool songs from here on out. There's plenty to keep you busy
This is one of the greatest Tool songs of all time, so I see you've spared no time diving in ;) Love that you're loving Tool. They're one of my all time favorite bands, and im telling you that if you dig Tool you should definitely give Sleep Token a listen.
Everything song these guys release is a Masterpiece, thats why we all wait years, sometimes more than a decade between album`s being released, like fine Wine...it must be aged to perfection!
Ha! What's up Dr. Choppy! Love your primal reactions, discovering a band like Tool is a once in a lifetime experience, especially when it resinates like it does with all of us. I think you would benefit from listening to their entire discography starting with the EP, Undertow, Aenima, Salival, Lateralus, 10000 days and then Fear Inocculum. You'll have a great experience plus get to see how they've matured and changed over the years. Every album bangs. Spiral out my friend!
Hello amigo - it's just sublime experiencing your initial experiences, your recent introduction to this band and their music, and these early, first dives for you into various songs off various albums recommended by your friends and your community. On the one hand, I could go on and on about their music trying to sound as eloquent as I can on how unique and truly special and fucking cool they are, how they do what they do, how we experience their music alone with headphones, or together and connected, or LIVE like communion, the impact of the music on our lives, changes to how we listen (to others and to music) if we might see certain things under a different light now... But on the other hand I'd ultimately be simply blathering empty nonsense. Absorbing the music of Tool and the time over time you give to that 'process', and all those things going on in your mind, heart and soul and beyond, any and every time you put on a song or album or see them live - they're all emotions and firing sensations that cannot neatly be put to words and that transcend description and tidy definition. The fun & joy experiencing you being drawn in to this band, vicariously feeling my earliest days with Tool long ago, well fuckin' A man, it's worthy of celebration and "welcome" because this music is fucking righteous awesome and Tool is in a league all their own... Keep on this path and spiral out...
that look of confusion of a juvenile tool fan is universal you cant unhear it now and the journey begins. IE Aperfect circle , pusifer. KING CRIMSON, ect
that scream! EPIC! that song! CLASSIC! that album! ICONIC! it's not right for you to listen to just one song at a time when we listened to the whole album when it came out! but by now you are on your way to have listened to all of it so just hang on! I guess?! T00L army for ever!
I think the Tool army is very happy to have all these reaction videos of people becoming Tool fans. Weve been telling everyone Tools the best our whole lives :P maybe the fan base can some across as pushy to some but I believe most Tool fans just want to share how amazing the music is.
I do really like getting stoned and listening to this lol. The title refers to the saying "the pot calling the kettle black", hence the "pissed all over my black kettle". Tool lyrics have a million layers!
This entire album resonates so much with me. Feels all the way through, helped me through roughest parts of my life. Sweet emotional release. Cheers to more wonderful reactions!
yay you did the one i asked for. lol this one of my faves. the lyrics are incredibly helpful and really helped me "let this go" i feel like you would love Aenima. its angry tool. They literally have a total of ZERO bad songs.
I saw an interview with Adam and Justin about this specific song. They said the foundation is pure CHOPPY, but they introduce CRISPY BITS to juxtapose the CHUNKY.
an underrated Tool song, imo. the more you listen to it, the more you get it. And yes, DO THE LYRICS. Its quite deep, as is usual. And try listening to this one loud-with a drink or two:)
team choppy drops," DON'T DO IT" stay with the unbridled reaction, and share the experience with us, we dig the unique reactions to one of the best bands you'll ever hear, " PERIOD". "Saturn Ascends" relates to the theory that mid-life crises tend to happen in people's lives around the time that Saturn returns to the same position in the sky as when you were born - roughly 29.4 Earth years
glad you found TOOL and appreciate the artistry. if you REALLY want to go down the rabbit hole start reading the lyrics AFTER youve listened to a song and see how "deep" it goes. JAMBI is an AWESOME tune ;)
If I could go back and start listening to a Tool song for the first time to get the full effect I wish I would have done the following: 1. Find a song synopsis to frame what the song is about. 2. Read the lyrics thru first. 3. Listen to the song with the lyrics in front of you. The songs are so deep in so many ways. I would recommend that for Lateralus.
If You want a long Tool song, 7empest is around 16 minutes!! My fave Tool song is Descending, it's off their latest album (as is 7empest) and it just takes me to some other place in my head.
Bro if you want 20 something minutes of tool in one hit then I think you're ready for what's known as the holy trinity 3 songs that must be listened in one hit. Disposition, Reflection and Triad. And go back on your own a few times make it an experience for yourself, sit down and close your eyes cause it has the ability to make you weep like a widow. Love your energy my man look forward to seeing more
Mate, you’re on your way now! Enjoy! Oh and the singer Maynard has two other bands too! “ A Perfect Circle” and “Puscifer” you have a lot to get through! Enjoy! 😎😂

Love your reactions mate! Really nice to see you enjoying exploring their music, absolutely captivated by it. One for the best stank faces in the react business rather helps as well, most people just seem flabbergasted and get this blank stare halfway.
I appreciate your honest reactions . You reminded me of my first experience hearing Tool. So It’s enjoyable too see other first timer’s experience Tool . I can say if I were in your in you shoes I’d been able too maintain such discipline .
46 and 2 is a masterpiece! THEN...one of the most complex written songs Lost Keys / Rosetta Stoned. Lyrics needed. It is about a alien abduction from a man tripping out in the hospital!
If you want to be greedy tempest is 15 minutes of every guitar melting rift that you can possibly think of. Maynard literally John wicks it and you forget he is even there because he goes so long without singing.( Keanu only speaks 380 words in JW4) lol
"If you dont like Tool, you dont like music" is an agreeable statement

TOOL fans had to wait 13 years, 3 months, and 29 days between albums. They're all bangers, enjoy the journey
Good news their new album is scheduled to be released in 2047 can't wait.
...29 days, 11 hours, 30 minutes and 8 seconds.

Gotta check out Parabol/Parabola - Parabol being a sort of intro into Parabola! Glad you are doing the audio only at first, keep it up!
That drop where the 4/4 kicks in is my favorite part in a Tool song. Keep going. Spiral out.

I've been a part of Tool since the 90s... There is never a dull moment, a let down or a reprieve. Welcome to the collective.
Just wait until you delve into their writing and mythology 😉
OGT!!! 🤘🤘
Lyrically this song is amazing as well. All about letting go of grudges as they can hold you back as a person
“Descending” will blow your mind. 7empest is a Grammy-winning tour de force. You’re welcome. 🤩

They’re a group of artists. who get together sometimes. Their music is evocative. Playful. Nuanced lyrics. One off time signatures. Concise mucianship
