    If the device produce more than it's needed energy, why
    1) does he need a battery at all?
    2) does the LEDs go out? Shouldn't they stay lit forever?

      Don't you know motor can have better efficiency than 1, just as heat pump (more than 5 ), so where is the matter with harnesting energy from its environement. Why electric motor couldn't do the same and harnest energy from wave and magnetic fields when heat engines coul do the same with heat. Get an open mind at the closest store, would be better for us all.

    • @leoberges1705
      @leoberges1705 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      István Kiss I'm just saying all claims of overunity are not the same, and can be true, and thinking we know every thing is the real bullshit, that's not because one experiment doesn't fit the common thinking that it is bullshit. Look at cold fusion for exemple. And efficiency is just the energy you get in your device divided by the input energy. So yes a heat pump does provide you more heat energy thant the electrique energy you use first. This energy comes from the surrounding space, as it always does and as it might do the same with some smartly design device.

      Reids cells can put out stable power, and have lasted over ten years with no drop in output power, and has the data logs to prove it. They do however require very expensive materials hence the large price tag to acquire one. Labersabers cells are nothing more than galvanic and are not at all comparable to Marcus Reids cells, not even close.

    EEVblog , I know that you you're an expert with this 'math', 'science', and 'engineering' that you speak of... But there are mysterious and magical forces that govern our universe that nobody, but the best garage hobbyists can possibly understand! I was able to create a flying car by sprinkling the blood of a captured pegasus on an old junk that I got off Craigslist. Rather than having to put that 'gasoline' rubbish in it, or a battery like those crappy Tesla cars, I was able to power it with the tears of leprechauns! (They were crying because I kept their gold locked away from them.)
    Once I finished the car, which also required that I duct tape a number of cool fins to it, I realized that it was getting late in the evening and so my maiden voyage would impact my next work day. In a stunning leap of scientific faith, I broke my watch with a hammer. I realized that if it can't keep counting time, then that means that I've effectively stopped time! Brilliant, right? I can't believe I never considered doing that before, but sure enough, it stopped ticking!
    I would totally make a video about these miracles of innovation and magic, to show you how they all work, but my camera battery died before I could. I have it attached to a free energy quantum vacuum system for charging, so once it's charged up, I'd get right on making that video for you. ;) It shouldn't take long to charge, you just plug it in, and 'Bob's Your Uncle'... Or possibly Larry, or whomever is a brother of your mother or father.
    It would be so much faster charging the camera battery if I had a trusty infrastructure of solar freaking roadways! LOL :)

    Dave, I qualified as an electronics engineer 35 years ago, but since then I moved into electronics manufacture and then QA. And I was always much more into digital electronics than analogue, even though there are analogue considerations in digital circuits, particularly where synchronisation and timing are concerned. But your videos are so clearly explained and argued that I was answering your rhetorical questions on cue, in an instant. Everything came back to me: "Then that BJT turns off, and that turns the Darlington pair off, and so the inductor shoots for the sky, but it's clamped at diode forward voltage, and that whacks a mess of current through the LEDs..."
    But I am pleased I spotted the non-inductor inductor before you mentioned it. When you said the video poster had said there was no inductor, I just pointed at the screen and laughed. "That's a buggering _huge_ inductor right there! Why bother with the ferrite ring at all, if you're solely looking at DC?"

    Great video thanks for making it. But you've touched on a real problem with our education system in the US. I am a college professor teaching "kids" physics and technology classes. From what I have seen teaching thousands of students is we have several generations of kids who were taught anything is possible as part of the"No Child Gets Left Behind" education pol;icy. This generation of kids believes anything is [possible if you can believe it. You are also asking people to use "critical thinking" skills. Politicians in US tried to get the teaching of "Critical Thinking" outlawed in the US not too long ago.
    We need more people like you debunking these ridiculous claims.... The only problem is we have generation of kids who believe the laws of physics can be broken if you think they can and they won't believe what you just showed and proved to them. Even though you have just showed them no laws of physics have been broken, they will still won't believe you and think the laws of physics can be broken. It's something I see everyday with college students.
    Why we did this to our kids I still can't figure out. But I suspect it was connected to the "Wedge Strategy" where religious creationist ideologies where attempted to be taught as science. The first step in doing so is to get people to believe anything is possible when it comes to science.

      It's amazing how stupid the current generation is. This is mainly observed from what you've just described and even more, from what we can see on the social media.
      Their current trends are _"revolt against the system"_, _"elites"_, _"lame schools"_, _"science is wrong"_ and many others like _"flat earth movements"_ .
      What they fail to realize is that they are indeed following dogmas, and being indoctrinated by an alternative system that is literally screwing their minds.
      No, we don't _"essentially"_ need this kind of things. The change mustn't come from youtube.. We need to establish a correct environment for the next generation in which critical thinking is a *crucial* component.
      Unfortunately, this what exactly the politicians *don't* want, for whatever reasons.

    Dave, i know you have good intent, but you honestly are wasting your time. The reason people believe in snake oil is not an issue of ignorance(even though it CAN be).
    There are many people in the world who feel they did not get their fair piece of the pie, and settled on the conclusion that the fault lied not on themselves, but the system. Now, these people could easily be talked into realizing the fallacy of that mindset soon after, but when allowed to sit there and fester for years, they start building their life on this assumption.
    The mind is a fragile thing, and when there is a faulty block in the foundation of it's logic, it will try to reinforce it. To do this, some will go after the so called 'impossible', because they are smart and the system was just lying to him to keep him down. All the other failures were the system silencing those people to hold them down. And all this they believe, not because it makes actual sense, but because it makes sense to them as *ANY* other belief would make their whole house of cards fall down. Accepting that they were wrong all along, and that there isn't someone holding people back from their potential, would mean accepting the fact that you are to blame for the state of your life, and not the system. This is such an ego shattering thing to accept, that the mind may make it impossible to accept. It is much more convenient to pass off people trying to talk sense into them as 'proof' of the system holding them down. They have set the whole thing up to reinforce a fallacy in their logic, you cannot win here. Denial is not by choice, but a defense mechanism to prevent a serious conflict in the foundation of someone's logic.
    It is very likely most of these people will take their fairy tale to the grave. The fact that it is a fairy tale is too much for their mind to accept.
    With that said, even though most are a lost cause, there is *one* thing you can take home from the wasted time, and that is a lesson about yourself. Do not box yourself into your own assumptions based on a classical education without allowing for the possibility that something may in fact be flawed with our current understanding of physics. Don't get me wrong, I am no pseudoscience follower, but I do keep an open mind, just not so open my brain falls out ;) I owe that much to *myself*, not others.

    • @1wibble2

      Well there we go, we're on a video about free energy, replying to a comment about free energy, you mention the guy that supposedly made a car that runs only on water and now you're moving the goal posts completely by talking about machines that run on hydrogen. Laughable. Hydrogen is an established fuel source, not free energy. Splitting water requires an energy source to do the splitting, there's nothing magical or free about it and there is no self sustaining machine that can split water AND power a vehicle at the same time without some form of additional battery or power source. I'm afraid the only person here thats dumb is you, dumb for not paying more attention at school, but instead following like a blind sheep conspirtard videos posted on youtube. Seriously go pick up a physics book, try doing some actual experiments yourself and come back to me when you've made a free energy machine powering a tv set, good luck, you'll need it (along with some magic beans)

    There's a lot of noise out there and a huge amount of wishful thinking amongst the over unity, free energy community. However, infrastructure that provides free energy purely from ambient conditions already exists and I've been benefitting from it for years; photovoltaics.
    I would like to sound a cautionary note. Whilst there is a healthy dose of dodgy science in many of these offerings and thanks for your work showing this, it's worth noting that history has shown, time and time again, that 'accepted wisdom' is always temporary. This also applies to our current understanding of physics unless, of course, you think we no know all there is to know on the subject.

    • @jort93z
      @jort93z 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      energy from ambient conditions does exist of course. but energy out of nothing but thin air does not exist and it will never.
      Photovoltanics get their energy from Nuclear fission inside the sun. Thats not free in my book.

    • @earthwizz
      @earthwizz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thin air is neither thin nor full of nothing. If it were, spacecraft wouldn't need heat shields for re-entry. Free energy contraptions produce energy from ambient conditions. There is always input; magnetic fields, gravity, whatever. Your claim that it will never exist is an absolute declaration that we know all there is to know about physics and that's not even remotely true.
      My infrastructure has zero moving parts and energy from the FUSION generator in the sky is definitely ambient conditions on our planet. Whether we use it or not it is freely available and my wallet insists that it's free.

    • @jort93z
      @jort93z 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Robin Harrison i am not claiming that.
      energy from ambient conditions is not free. if you call energy gained from ambient temperature "free" then "free" energy exists. thats how solar cells, stirling englines and geothermal generators work.
      "free energy" does not mean that its free of charge. free energy means that you create energy out of nothing. perpetual motion pretty much. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion that is what i am referring to with free energy. Not energy you dont have to pay for. Energy you dont have to pay for is very common.

    • @earthwizz
      @earthwizz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Solar cells don't work with temperature they work with photons in the sunlight which constitute the ambient conditions on the earth. Stirling englines and geothermal generators require heat input.
      Free energy contraptions all need input of some sort, be that magnetic fields, gravity, whatever. My free energy contraption uses photons for which there is no cost; financial, physical or metaphysical, and produces actual free energy. Maybe not more out than in but definitely in a usable form that previously didn't exist.
      Of course there's a lot of codswallop out there on the subject but an absolute belief free energy contraptions can't exist can be misleading. For instance, my free energy contraption which works can't be a free energy contraption because free energy contraptions can't exist.
      Yes they can, I've got one.

    • @jort93z
      @jort93z 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Robin Harrison there is a phsical cost. photons. you take a high energy photon and remove its energy. its not free. it costs a photon which was created by nuclear fission inside the sun most likely(or by a flame, a lamp...). thats not free. you just take a photon and convert it into electrical energy. that photon would normally have used its energy to heat something up or even accelerate something else(since light is a wave and a particle at the same time for some reason).

    The fact that whoever originally designed that circuit used a darlington pair to cut off the inductor implies to me that this was deliberately designed to fool the "over unity" crowd. With its extremely high gain and consequently extremely sharp transition to cut-off, whoever originally designed it knew that the "quantum vacuum bullshit generator" was just a plain inductor.
    Yeah... After looking at the BDX33C, its got a collector-emitter voltage rating of 100V. This.. thing.. would have probably still lit all 23 LED's just fine if they were put in series, and with no FET gates anywhere, all those hideous voltage spikes from the LEDs' turn-on time don't have anything to destroy.

Plus everyone loves a bit of schadenfruede! And it makes a great point, that there's no knowledge gained from saying 'I think this circuit is doing something exceptional'.. if you were going to replicate the effect or actually gain knowledge, you'd have to analyse it and then find 'actually this is not exceptional at all'.

    Oh wow that first debunking section really hit me hard, i actually have a single led light that has been on for over 2 years now, and i was wondering to this day how it was even possible. It's very dim because the phone battery i used to make the thing (homemade flashlight) had it's overcharge circuits burn out during an accidental overcharge, so i could not recharge it. So i left it on and weeks went by with the dim light still being on. Then a year went by, and now over 2 years. Not claiming at all that it breaks the laws of physics, but i am still unsure how its still on, is it somehow sucking power from the air?

    Dave, you taught more basic EE in this video than most of the free-energy types would ever experience in their whole lives. Hopefully, going to this level will help more of them tinker more intelligently & reduce the number of nonsense claims posted on YT--but, I doubt it because newbies often come across things when tinkering that they don't have the ability to understand or mathematically evaluate (given that they don't have much physics, electronics knowledge, & zero EE knowledge). It's simply easier & cheaper for them to make & post a video with bogus claims & wait for others to explain to them why their conclusions are wrong. Today you did that! Excellent explanation!

    The best solution is to build a 3000 feet antenna to collect atmospheric static electricity to a multi plate capacitor battery and use it to power your establishment , any exes power can be grounded . There are no moving parts except the switches and breakers , and transformers . The initial voltage will be high but can be brought down with an electronic switch board to 120 or 240 volts . You will need a permit and license to build it up also an electrical contractor license . Plus you have to pay tax on the amount of power you will be using , otherwise it will be illegal .

    Many of these 'over unity' circuits rely on pulsed currents from switched inductors, transformers or motors. The experimenters assume that current times voltage equals power in such circuits. If this is questioned, they will buy 'True RMS' meters and claim this answers any criticisms. It doesn't. V rms x I rms still does not necessarily equal power in such situations. Measurement of power in pulsed circuits is not easy, and this is where a lot of the mistaken results come from.
