My rope has a carabiner at the tip. I tether my gun and blind bag with it while paddling plus I tie my horse up when I get to my spot....which leads to my tip... you don't have to hunt out of the yak as I almost never do. Where I hunt I use the natural cover and hide my yak. No layouts, not mesh and no brushing in to deal with. Keep up the great videos!

I hunt with one arm out of my old town. Definitely tether off the shotgun and the paddle. First hunt of the season last year buddy dropped his gun in 6ft deep water and weeds. Got lucky he found it but diving into the water at 4am and 40 degrees couldn't have been fun
I have a layout boat. Still haven't used for hunting yet but it provides alot of room for maneuverability. Just trying to find a good set of wheels to place under it so I can roll it in instead of drag. Most wont stay under the boat
Them all were good advice`s . I have a Jackson Big Rig it`s 37 in. across the bottom very stable also have a gun rack for my track but i also tie a shock cord to my shotgun .

Water hose works well as a handle for rope also. gives a little more comfort.
