Man that blind is literal kayak duck hunting gold man. I've been looking for one for almost 2 years now. My homemade blind is alright but something like that would be money. Let's go smack some teal!
How much does pulling a loaded sled slow you down or kill your kayak’s efficiency? Does it wear your arse out a lot quicker? How do you have things rigged to tow the sled?
It's not bad at all. I've hauled over 10 dz decoys once before. I put about 3 dz in a bag and strapped it to the back of the Perception Prescador 12ft with about 7 dz stacked in the sled for about 6 miles round trip. Buddy hauled about 4-5 dz on his. The only this is make sure you're not going to drag bottom and you will not be paddling a strong head wind. I had little to no wind and I just maintained a steady pace, nice and easy, and kept the kayaks momentum going and was able to paddle in and out without stopping no probs. If you're going to be facing a head wind, keep the big bags of decoys off the kayak and just put 3-5 dz in the sled and it's no problem. I paddled that way with a 20 mph head wind and made a mile paddle that way. I definitely was a little tired but it's not hard at all.
Any reason for using the top water kayak vs a sit in? I've got a 9 ft sit in laying about that I've been considering but I've only seen people use top waters
@@northernrider4874 I appreciate the feedback!! I figured it would be hard to paddle due to the wide size, that’s the price you pay when you add a lot of cargo space. When looking for a kayak my main wants were, lots of cargo space, a tan color to blend with reeds, and lightweight. The H10 checked all those boxes for me. As for stability, I haven’t tried one out so I wouldn’t know exactly what you’re talking about but usually as long as you distribute the weight correctly you are fine. If need be I can always return it if it doesn’t work!
@@nelsonoutdoors9510 i think even the H12 might be better. Don't get me wrong, I killed a bunch of ducks out of mine before i bought a boat but my friends both had nicer kayaks and i could hardly keep up with them. i also find its bit to short to lay down in comfortably especially because of the tunnel hull it isn't comfortable.
@@northernrider4874 I would love the H12 but my wife won’t let me spend the $100 more to get it… I am hoping to make some modifications to the H10 once I do get it to make it more functional. We’ll see, I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!
Probably will get the DiveBomb dry bag for my yak, and maybe the M1 mallards they’ve got killer action with slight water movement. Probably take my lucky duck HDI because it’s waterproof and mojo brand sucks ass
Hey do you have a video that talks about duck vs goose hunting? Which takes less skill Or which requires less prep or is less likely to discourage new people? Cost of each extra? Thanks and keep up the good content.
Been trying to find one of these kayak blinds for over a year no luck. Cabelas and basspro don’t carry them anymore really stinks I bought the ascend h12 specifically for that reason
I contacted Bass Pro/Cabelas and was told they will be back in stock this fall. Didn’t get any specific date so hopefully by mid September we’ll see them online.
Hey buddy I see most everything in the drop down that you use but the kayak blind who makes it. Thanks keep up the good work
If you're hunting in the cold its a good idea to bring disposable handwarmers. My hands get cold super fast some days and those have been life savers

Finallya clear concise kayak tutorial
Thank you for this. I’m trying very hard to do this very thing. This helps me know what I’m getting into.
Just got my first kayak last weekend! Can't wait to hunt with it!
Love this, very helpful for a new Kayak hunter like myself. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
@@OutdoorLimits What Old Town kayak paddle is that, what color, and what length...?
And how did you determine what length would work best...?
i have a cheap little solar panel to charge my batteries for my lights, works great
Just got an old town 119 solo sportsman for the upcoming season. Thanks for the info man
I liked that kayak, but it was a bit small for my style of hunting
I use a gun holder on my Frontier 12 to strap the gun in. You will want that with the dog possibly tipping you over…strap everything!!!
one thing you didn't mention and what I would be most inclined to purchase is where and what you got that blind on your kayak
Thanks Josh it won`t be long and you have to make room for Cora .
This is awesome content. Good work!
I’m looking at the new dive bomb bag for the kayak
Great video, 10 stars!
Been waiting on this one!
I hat brand layout blind is that the link is not working to see it. Awesome setup
What brand of layout blind is that and did you just cut the bottom out of it or is it for kayaks?
Were I hunt I have to walk in a ways to get to the water I want to hunt. How would you transport it for a 1/4-1/2 mile before you can put in?
Need Basselas to get the kayak blind back in stock already.
Do you work a jerk rig? Last season I tried, but I'd always pull myself towards the jerk rig and flair birds.
Stake your kayak. Either tether the kayak to the stake(s) or stake through drain holes if you're able to.
Do you have a link to your shell holder?
What’s the brand and model of the blind you’re using? The link is broken.
Where did you get the blind? That's all I'm missing
What’s your plan with the dog in the kayak?
what are you using in front of and behind your layout blind? Is it snow fence with raffia grass?
No. It's the blind. The blind is an actual kayak blind so it is made to cover the front and back of the boat
Where did you get the blind??
How much does pulling a loaded sled slow you down or kill your kayak’s efficiency? Does it wear your arse out a lot quicker? How do you have things rigged to tow the sled?
Its really not too bad. You definitely notice it, but it doesn't add much drag

Nice rig, what type of grass is that?
Raffia Grass
Any recommendations for doing this out of a canoe?

Where did you get the layout blind for you kayak ? It wont load for me I'm trying to find one and I can't
Just about to buy an Ascend H10 just for hunting so thank you for sharing this!!
DONT, I HAD ONE WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO PADDLE
not streamlined enough, like trying to paddle a bathtub, and surprisingly unstable

Where'd you get your kyack blind?
Essential items: he forgot thermos with coffee! Lol.
Where can I find a good Kayak blind?
Where did you make your logo at

You bet!
Where did you get that blind?
Great video! Where ya from? Wanna go hunting? 😂
Good tips !!!
Glad you think so!

It’s about the same…
It’s all about
Scouting
hide
Calling
Decoys
Duck decoys can be cheaper
Duck calls are normally easier to blow
Where does your dog sit?

@@tomalbright6568 awesome thanks that’s great news
You don't bring a gun when you kayak hunt?
Where's cora gonna fit
What is your current setup with your dog in the kayak? I'm currently thinking of getting a kayak and hunt with my dog. Thanks
hey man, all your links are broken. thanks for the video.
Ok, your getting wayyyyy to excited
Is that a problem?
No, not a problem at all. He's just jealous. @@OutdoorLimits
Do you paddle in with the seat the kayak comes with then take it out later? Plz explain
When using the blind I do not use the seat. I kneel in the kayak when paddling
dragged decoys off the back of the yak my first year kayak hunting, NEVER again
🤣
Did you say graphite i thought that was in atomic bombs
Graphite is what you use when you write with a pencil.
