I got a pair of froggtoggs and they have last me 5 years and still going no holes or tears and i hunt in flooded timber to walking through ice with them
@@thedrifttheorymy froggtogg fishing waders are amazing. I have maybe 10 years with them I use to belly boat fish every weekend in the spring-first ice that kicked us off the water.
Can't believe you just dropped this video!! I ordered a pair of rogers waders last year hoping they'd last me years... but they didn't even make it through the season! And I just ordered high and dry yesterday... SUPER happy to have you confirm this purchase
Public hunter here, in the duck woods, about 30 days a year. Good set of waders, but just like every other wader I've worn, leaks in the seams somewhere in the middle of my second season. Bought these because Joel recommended them, but in my experience, just another leaky wader.
I bought a pair of H&D waders on your recommendation two seasons ago. They’ve been great! Surf fishing and ducking a lot of days each season and no leaks. I also bought their neoprene surf jacket. Great company and great products. I wish you and them the best.
Bought my High ‘N Dry breathables 4 1/2 years ago. They are still going strong. Used some Velcro that is for cable management and use that to wrap the straps that hang around your shoulders. Now they fit great.
@@SurvivingDuckSeason I learned about them from your video a few years ago and having watched your many videos was convinced to take a chance by your sincerity. By the time they made it to me in Canada they were pricy, but worth it. At 71 years of age that zipper is gold! Have great season!
Joel, thank you for posting this very timely video. Last duck season was just about the end for my current waders and as a result, I have been shopping around. Two of my friends have recently purchased the $1000 brand of waders and I just can't justify that and have been looking at others. I was very close to pulling the trigger on another little-known brand until I saw this video. I will be ordering a pair of High and Dry waders soon. Thanks again.
Gotta add my 2 cents, after years of buying waders every year like you I finally bit the bullet and got a pair of Simms stocking foot waders……..their GoreTex waders are the toughest breathable wader out IMHO. Mine are going on their 8/9th YEAR of hard duck hunting and also wade fishing on the Texas gulf coast. Maybe if H&D made some stockingfoot breathable waders I’d give them a go.
Rogers makes a good wader and the boot is incredible. most comfortable ever...wader is holding up good. I think it's the Elite 2-1 wader...love them..buckles dont' get in the way of of mounting gun either.
I've been wearing the same pair of frogg toggs for three years with no issues and they've been fantastic for me. Super comfortable, warm, and their customer service has been great any time I've had a question.
I have been using high and dry for three seasons. I purchased them after hearing Joel talk about how good they were. Last year they got a small leak on the inseam by the boot. I do a lot of walk in hunts and usually walk over three miles on a hunt. It looks like the seam is starting to wear from all the walking. I used 3M 4000 and the leak stopped. My only complaint is the shoulder strap and the straight cut at the top of the waders. If you tighten the strap to keep it tight at the top it will cause it to be really tight at the legs. So you have to keep the straps loose in order to walk around.
I guess I was one of two who returned. However; great product just couldn't get fit right tight in the knees on a breathable set. The company was excellent to deal with. Went to warehouse and tried other sizes to no avail. They definately went the extra mile for me. Even gave me some free merch before leaving. Will try again.
Same here. I ordered them and loved the waders but I just couldn’t get them to fit right. I sent them back and I must say that they run an excellent company. I’d recommend them to anybody who isn’t as fat as me. Lol
Same here! I’m 5’8” 185 Size 9 and they felt too short with the waist belt loops being to low and knees tight when you sit down. What size are you all? They are tough and I’ll continue to use them but would like a better fit and don’t feel like I’m out of the norm on sizing.
A couple years ago, I was excited to try my first pair of HnD neoprene waders. Opening day at midnight, after setting the spread and grassing in, I decided to take a snooze in my boat, with my heater keeping the chill off. In my sleep, I felt a hot spot on my leg, half asleep, I stuck my hand into the hot goo that used to be neoprene….. apparently I roll around in my sleep. Lesson learned…. Now I wear breathable waders, and sleep in a chair!
We have been using Oak Street Gear, formally USIA waders for years. They have been working great, and they will fix holes and replace boots once they wear out. The company also makes dry suits for divers and the military so they understand having a quality product.
Alright Joel, I might have to finally break down and try out these High N' Dry Waders. Everyone I talk to loves them. My buddy has been using them the last two season now. Perhaps we'll give them a shot. Thanks for another solid video.
I bought a pair of Bayou Metos from Mack’s probably twenty years ago. About five or so years ago they developed a couple of pinholes so I got a new full size pair. But I still keep those waist highs for emergency backup!
Well I broke down and ordered my first set of neoprene HND waders today, I hope they are as good as you say. I know you use breathables instead so it will be interesting to see how good they are my last set of supermag waders lasted 4 seasons.
Banded Black labels have been great for me. First pair lasted 7 years and 2nd pair on year 3. Biggest thing is dry them after usage if they are going to sit up for a while and store them in climate controlled area during the summer. I hunt 3-4 days per week so they do get used regularly during the season
I got my High N Dry waders when you first recommended them. I got a puncture hole from a huge thorn once but that’s not the waders fault. They told me to use that 4200 adhesive and it’s fixed. I want the zippered waders but can’t justify replacing waders that are still perfect. Here’s something to be aware of. I thought the seems were leaking but I got in the pool with them on and they didn’t leak. So I looked at what I was wearing under them. Long story short, I was sweating and they couldn’t could breath. I think it’s because I had a similar breathable pair of wading pants under them. I later heard from another manufacturer you shouldn’t do this. I now wear wicking layers next to my skin. And add layers for the temp. Early season in NC can be warm so sometimes I only have the lightest base layer on and nothing else or very light weight fishing pants. As it gets colder I’ll add warmer bad layers and the LL Bean wool guide pants. I stay dry and comfy.
I'll be starting my fourth season with a pair of HnD. They are well built and tough. However, the no flex straps are a pain! They're tough to adjust because they either fall off your shoulders or cut you short when you bend. A little elastic would really help.
I had my neoprene waders on this morning. Didn't see the screw sticking out of the top of the pail top. Quarter size hole in the seat of my waders. Not a good opener. Shot 4 short of a 3man limit though.
I had a pair and the leaked and tore the first season. I’ve tried multiple brands and seems like I buy a pair every year. Bought a pair of chene last season and leaked on the first hunt. Sent them back and they repaired them and seemed to work fine the rest of season. Got a buddy that hunts probably 50 plus days a year using simms stocking foot and loves them.
I ordered my new Banded waders online from a reputable midwest sporting goods store in the spring during their clearance sale. Never took them out of the box until our waterfowl season opener was the next weekend. Being a slightly round fella, I bought the "husky" in my boot size. Little did I know, that husky meant tall, as well! I'm thinking a guy about 6' 8" could fill these out! Too late for me to return them to the store. I kind of look like Randy from A Christmas Story in his snow suit! Oh well, they keep me dry!
Bought mine early 90s (about $250) for fishing salmon and steelhead from Lake Ontario. They are heavy, too big for me and insulated so I can fish till December. They have no boots connected, you buy boots to wear with them(sims are my best pair $300). Good waders don’t include a boot. I often walk into stomach deep water just to cool down. Have walked into hundreds of sharp sticks with no punctures or leaks.
I picked up a pair of H&D 4 years ago. Last year I developed a leak in my boot. I tried all year to fix that leak w no luck. I was ready to throw them in the trash and get some chene or Sitka. Just out of curiosity I dm H&D and asked if I could pay for a repair. Maybe I could use these as backups. I shipped my waders to Brian. I had them back 3 weeks later and free of charge. My buddy w Sitka has to pay for his repairs, my buddy w chene can’t get his to stop leaking. H&D for the win, they have a customer for life 👊🏼
The very first pair of chene waders I was around filled up with water in 20 seconds ! The guy spend nearly 4000.00 for a complete out fit For absolute junk !!
My High N Dry neoprene waders have been great. Their size tall is the only wader that fits me, no leaks going on 3 years. The inside lining of the boot heal is wearing thin though. Too many long walk in hunts I guess.
I had a similar experience with banded bought a new pair, and second day of the season it started leaking. Took it back got a replacement and it leaked on the very first day. I don’t give a crap if they allow lifetime returns, why don’t they just make a product that works! Then I bought into the Sitka hype lifetime warranty and when I had to send it back in the middle of the season to be repaired I waited a LONG 6 weeks to get it back. My wife bought me some high and dry waders and now all my other pairs sit and collect dust. Good job boys!
I have been in Sitka waders for 6 years, I have had to send mine back one time because of a leak that was my fault. I was able to put a patch on them and make it the last 2 weeks on the season. I sent them off and had them back with a free hat in 22 days. I picked up a 2nd pair a few years back to use as a back up incase to have a leak during the season.
I bought HighNDry waders last year and so far best waders ive own i also used them for my job and they havent fail me unlike my rogers waders ive previously had . The boots would be a crack and water would get in the longest theu last was only two seasons .
I bought a pair of Rogers toughman, in size 13, I didn't realize how bad the boot fit, as I was new to waterfowling, boots kept slipping off in the muck.. After contacting Rodger's they informed me there was a boot sizing mistake, making the 13s actually size 14's. I asked if I could exchange them, and they refused because I wore them once, even though they admitted there was a defect with sizing. My next pair of waders will not be bought from them.
Going on season two with High & Dry and couldn’t ask for a better wader. I had a question when I was first looking at them and Ian reached out to me himself. What other company owner does that. You just not a number.
Guide gear (sportsman’s guide) extreme 2,000 gram neoprene waders have been great for me, and I haven’t been easy on them. Snagging them in sharp sticks, stopping sharp sticks from sticking me in the leg, haven’t had a hole yet after 3 seasons. Best neoprene wader in my opinion
The number 1 problem I have with any brand is waders its the boot getting ripped or tear. The seams doesn't go as quick or leak before the boot rips on me. If they can guarantee no rip boots then I will think about it. Might have to go stocking foot waders if that's the only way.
I was tired of cheap leaky waders after one season. Broke down and bought the Sitka waders. They leaked right out of the box. Sent them back and they fixed them no questions asked. They are without a doubt the most comfortable waders I’ve ever owned. I’ll never buy another brand.
Well I believe I am the minority here. But me and my friends have had nothing but issues with the HighNdry waders. It wasn't just me or one of friends but several of us have all had leaks within a year of ownership. Maybe us on Long Island just got a bad batch. Who knows. Everybody seems to love them so I have to assume that maybe we just got a few lemons. I'm not knocking the company like I said maybe we just got a bad batch or maybe the salt marsh here is just a little harder on gear. 🤷♂️ I wanted to love these waders. I liked what the company stood for and was doing. But unfortunately I didn't have any such luck that it seems many of you have had.
Yea unfortunately, I gave HnD a chance and while I liked them, I did get a pinhole my first year. When you say 'leak proof' you better make sure it lasts at least a season. I hunt about 30 times a year in a salt marsh. I did patch mine and hope I can go at least most of the way into this season before taking stock again on what to replace it with. I am resigned to the fact that I am always going to be patching. To be fair, a pinhole is something I can deal with pretty easily - it just is an annoyance for the day you discover the leak. For the record, I've had Cabelas, Frog Toggs, TideWes - nearly 7 in 10 years. That tells you what I've gone through. I don't really trust any of them.
@@keithlohbc I would look into an NRS( or similar company) dry suit, and just wear anything random camo jacket on top of it. They're literally made to take a beating and still keep you dry.
I bought the zippered HnD breathable and honestly it has been ok. The fit is probably my main issue. Just looks goofy on me. They lasted all last season so there is that. I wish they were slightly more “stylish” in cut and features but that’s my personal opinion. My suggestion is save your money and skip the zip. It is t as useful as I was hoping.
I work a survey crew in rural Virginia and go from field to mountain with sometimes walking a creek for miles. Slipping isn’t an option. I hope I can find a success story. That said, snake/water proof boots aren’t.
I use stocking foot waders. I used to buy cabelas camo neoprene. Those lasted 3-5 years. Then the evil empire bought out cabelas and discontinued them. I bought a pair of camo Chinese waders and the whole seam leaked chest to feet. I used sealer and sealed them up. Crotch leaks. I then looked at the camo simms waders and went to order them and the next week their price went up almost $200 to I think was $770 ? So I bought a pair of bass dash stocking foot waders in funky camo for about $90.. This will be their 3rd season without a leak . They are thin breathable so I stay out of the brush. In KC area it was warm last year so they worked great. Problem was all my upper camo are coats . Too hot. Do you have any recommendations for maybe a long sleeve button down in a brown grass pattern ???
@@EastonTriftshauser I usually get 2-3 seasons out of them. Most companies don't just replace your waders that you make leak. Rogers will repair them and get them back to you as soon as they can. If it is a manufacturing defect they will replace them.
High n dry sucked for me. Leaked in my knees. Leaked in my butt. Sent them back to be patched. Got them back this summer. Went teal hunting and had water in my waders. Rogers seem better for me so far
Bought a pair of Banded 2.0 Breathable waders a few years ago. Put them on for the first time and walked 30 yards out to my blind in knee deep water. By the time I got there, both boots were full. It angered me so much I threw out everything Banded I owned and refuse to buy anything from them again. Have a pair of Drake Front Zip Breathable waders now (I bought on sale) that have been great for the two seasons I have had them.
Just torn a hole in my avery breatvhable waders. They made it one season on public land. Which means lots of hicking. Already had cracks in the boots. Ive tried cabeles, banded, avery. Im tired of buying a new pair every season.
My local "honey pot" had a beaver damn break, now instead of 1-2 feet of water, there might be a few inches at most. Very muddy as well. Not looking good for this season.....
Mine leaked in the knees and on a inseam weeks after the warranty very disappointing for that price Contacted the company they were nice but only offered advice on patching them. They have very little flex in them making it difficult to get in and out of a boat truck or pit blind unless your suspenders are loose. I hunt 3 days a week mostly pit blind. Mine definitely did not fit the commercial fishermen label that these are being touted as.
I can’t complain about my wader company of choice. I’ve had the same pair for 5 years. I hunt 60+ days a year. If I get a leak I send them back and get them repaired for free. Worth spending the money. SITKA 4 LIFE!!!!!
I know I'm gonna get cooked for this, but after many years of getting a year or two out of my Drake, Cabela's, Hodgeman, or Lacrosse waders I got sick of it and sprung for the Sitka waders after they had been on the marked for a couple years. I'm on my fifth season with them, and I've had one leak in a heel seam that wasn't my fault and a hole in the back of the leg that was my fault. They are the most comfortable wader I've ever had, but the biggie is that warranty. Both times I sent them in for maintenance or repair they have fixed the problem and either updated the zippers and/or the boots at no extra charge (over the maintenance fee). I also realize this is a High N Dry commercial, but my buddy tried them and wasn't happy. He said the quality was fine, but they just didn't fit and move well. He went Sitka and also said he'd never look back. I'm sure Chene are good, I've heard the Divebombs are nice (they look almost identical to Sitka). When they get north of $500.00, I'll go with the brand that has treated me right and who were the first super premium Cadillac wader on the market. Roast away, boys!!!!
@@swamp_rat_fla1126 It's the maintenance or inspection or whatever you want to call it where you can send them in and they'll go through them and pressure test them for leaks, check all the seams, check the boots, check the zippers......the whole nine yards. You don't have to do it, but I do it about every third year or so just for peace of mind. I don't mind it, and it's absolutely worth it to me. I had some gift cards and rewards points and Rogers had a year end sale going when I got mine, so I'm about $500 into them, but I'd pay full boat in a heartbeat after owning them compared to the other crap I've owned over the years. A wet crotch on opening morning with my third pair of Drake waders leaking out of the box or halfway through the season was the straw that broke the camel's back. That and the two pair of Banded waders that didn't last a year.
I spent $120 on tidwe waders from Amazon I hunted out of for four seasons. Kayaks, walk in, sitting waist deep on a mud stool, boats, walking creeks...all the hunts you can do. Finally started to leak at the seams last season. I got new ones with better insulation in the boots, but I could have fixed them with some seam seal.
Frog togs bought em cuase they were recommended and they lasted 2 hunts and a fishing trip before ripping and leaking and the seams decided to pop and leak while I was electro fishing so yeah then it took a year to get the warranty Done once this pair dies they have lasted one season I will buy better ones
My secret is cut the boots off your leaky neoprene waders slide them over new ones the outer takes the abuse keeping inner like new plus better insulation just zip tie buckles together cutting old strap off don’t need to do anything else they grab each other like a scuba diving suit
I was sold on HnD when the first thing I read on their website was “We’re commercial fishermen and are sick and tired of leaky waders” Sold and been wearing the same pair ever since 😂😂😂
rogers breathables suck at waders, didnt even last a season, used to be able to return cabelas dry plus yearly and that was acceptable...not as great a return policy anymore
I’ve hunted in November in North Dakota with them when it was in the teens with 30+ mph wind. I don’t know what you consider cold, but that was pretty chilly.

I got mine! High and dry! 😊
I’ve heard this several times from guys. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Would love to try a pair, but every time I look they are out of stock.
Been wearing a budget pair of waders from Dry Code 3 seasons and no issues whatsoever 😅 maybe I'm lucky.
I’m on my 6th year with mine. No leaks.
meanwhile I've gotten 3 seasons out of a cheap pair of nylon/PVC waders from amazon, $40 well spent. Still going strong.
My high and drys only lasted a year and a half beaver trapping took them out
The number 1 problem I have with any brand is waders its the boot getting ripped or tear. The seams doesn't go as quick or leak before the boot rips on me. If they can guarantee no rip boots then I will think about it. Might have to go stocking foot waders if that's the only way.
High & Dry are the best!!! You’ll regret buying any others!
I just looked it up, they still make the cabelas super mag waders? That’s my go to wader brand, like you said you can get 3-5 years out of them
I used to buy when cabelas changed hands I don't know if the are made in the same place.
I pretty much don't buy things that are made in China.
Love my Rogers Waders
How long have they lasted?, whats the return on them being leaky?
@@EastonTriftshauser I usually get 2-3 seasons out of them. Most companies don't just replace your waders that you make leak. Rogers will repair them and get them back to you as soon as they can. If it is a manufacturing defect they will replace them.
I buy for myself wife and daughter we finally
Is their a chain store who sell these waders?
High n dry sucked for me. Leaked in my knees. Leaked in my butt. Sent them back to be patched. Got them back this summer. Went teal hunting and had water in my waders. Rogers seem better for me so far
My rogers leaked from day 1, my buddy as well. I haven't tried HND yet.
Went 2 seasons with Rogers end of my 3rd they started to leak in the crotch
Bought a pair of Banded 2.0 Breathable waders a few years ago. Put them on for the first time and walked 30 yards out to my blind in knee deep water. By the time I got there, both boots were full. It angered me so much I threw out everything Banded I owned and refuse to buy anything from them again. Have a pair of Drake Front Zip Breathable waders now (I bought on sale) that have been great for the two seasons I have had them.
I got the banded 2.0 elites, going on year 4 and no issues yet, i think its just luck of the draw man
Just torn a hole in my avery breatvhable waders. They made it one season on public land. Which means lots of hicking. Already had cracks in the boots. Ive tried cabeles, banded, avery. Im tired of buying a new pair every season.
Why dont they make a stocking foot wader ?
They do.
Been wearing academy neoprenes for going on 3 years
Man I bought a pair of Rogers tough man 2 in 1 I'm really excited about and now you guys have me scared
My local "honey pot" had a beaver damn break, now instead of 1-2 feet of water, there might be a few inches at most. Very muddy as well. Not looking good for this season.....
Mine leaked in the knees and on a inseam weeks after the warranty very disappointing for that price
Contacted the company they were nice but only offered advice on patching them. They have very little flex in them making it difficult to get in and out of a boat truck or pit blind unless your suspenders are loose. I hunt 3 days a week mostly pit blind. Mine definitely did not fit the commercial fishermen label that these are being touted as.
3 pairs in a year… warranty department told me “waders just leak you’re gonna have to get used to it”
The only thing I don't like about my high n dry waders is that every cocklebur in the county sticks to the Kevlar knee pads
Haha! I’ve been in this same boat! Buying a new pair every year… Smh
NOT ANY MORRRRRE!!! HA!
I can’t complain about my wader company of choice. I’ve had the same pair for 5 years. I hunt 60+ days a year. If I get a leak I send them back and get them repaired for free. Worth spending the money. SITKA 4 LIFE!!!!!
Never heard one bad thing about high n dry waders.
lol I just bought a pair last week
Simms have been successfully making hard wearing breathable waders for longer than anyone else….
Sitka, Simms, and Gore are sister companies all based in Bozeman. Been wearing Sitkas for the last 5 years with zero issues. I hunt 45+ days per year.
Problem is, they are never in stock!
You had to pay over $1000 for the waders and you also have to pay a maintenance fee? What’s that all about?
@@swamp_rat_fla1126 I sent mine back and never had to pay a fee and the leak was 100% my fault.
Do you have any Discount codes for this company?
I w been really disappointed by drake waders lately. They don’t last a year. And I take care of my stuff.
Have you tried the Sitka waders?
I’ve had a neoprene 600gr waders for 12yrs. If it tears i repair it.
My secret is cut the boots off your leaky neoprene waders slide them over new ones the outer takes the abuse keeping inner like new plus better insulation just zip tie buckles together cutting old strap off don’t need to do anything else they grab each other like a scuba diving suit
Aren’t they heavier and harder to walk in?
I was sold on HnD when the first thing I read on their website was “We’re commercial fishermen and are sick and tired of leaky waders”
Sold and been wearing the same pair ever since 😂😂😂
rogers breathables suck at waders, didnt even last a season, used to be able to return cabelas dry plus yearly and that was acceptable...not as great a return policy anymore
So this is an infomercial
Amen!!! If it were me, I would marry the breathable material to a Muck Boot. That would be an awesome combo
Muck boots are comfortable, they just aren't made to last.
Just wear the leaking ones.
If they only made waders for 5’7 130 pound people 😆.
Yeah you're talking about cold weather but I don't see you hunting in cold weather with them waders
I’ve hunted in November in North Dakota with them when it was in the teens with 30+ mph wind. I don’t know what you consider cold, but that was pretty chilly.
I’ve hunted many days in the teens and twenties in my HNDs 🤷🏻♂️
