      Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re truly grateful to hear that this content resonated with you. For those of us who don’t always think about things like constellations or astronomy, it’s incredible to realize just how much God’s Word and creation are connected! The heavens were placed by God to declare His glory, and even though many of us aren’t experts in how constellations work, it’s clear that God used them as part of His divine story.
      It’s amazing to think that the Magi, who studied the skies so diligently, saw something that was so clear and compelling they traveled hundreds of miles to worship a newborn King. That star wasn’t just a coincidence-it was part of God’s perfect plan to announce the birth of the Savior, as Matthew 2:2 says, "We saw His star in the East and have come to worship Him."
      We're so glad this was valuable for you! We may not all understand the specifics of astronomy, but what matters most is that God’s creation is speaking to us. Psalm 19:1 reminds us, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." Even if we don’t understand every detail of how the constellations move, we can be confident that everything in the universe points us back to the greatness of God.
      Thank you for your encouragement, and we pray that this helps strengthen your faith even more! God Bless!

    I love the celestial connection that appears in the heavens and i'm sure that's exactly what happened. i actually saw a planetarium presentation of called the Star of Bethlehem years and years ago from a secular astrological perspective that made the same conjecture that the star was not a supernova or anything flashy that all would notice. they talked about the conjunction of Jupiter and Regulus too and how rare that was and the retrograde motion would have "led" them just as the scriptures say. hard to believe a secular source on a liberal college campus did a program like that, but they gave that presentation every year for a long time. i'm glad i saw it then bc i'm sure they don't do it now. anways, i love that you confirmed this idea that I heard so many years ago when i was in college. i don't doubt it at all because it's just like it says in the Psalms that the heavens declare the glory of God. and what is more glorious than the announcement of the birth of Christ!! people often joke about wishing that God would write His will in the sky. Well, apparently He did!!
    One question though.... i dont see how the words of John in Revelation chapter 12 could have played into the motivation for the magi coming to bethlehem though. that letter wasn't written until around 90 AD, right?. There wouldn't have been a prophecy about the woman clothed with the sun, a crown of stars and the moon at her feet nor the serpent set to devour the child at the time they were studying the sky. Are you implying that the same info John wrote down later was somehow revealed to the magi at the time of the birth of Christ.?

    • @underthehoodFL
      @underthehoodFL  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you for your thoughtful comment and for sharing your experience! It’s amazing how even secular sources, like the planetarium presentation you mentioned, recognize the rare and significant conjunction of Jupiter and Regulus as something powerful. The fact that they connected it with the Star of Bethlehem, just as scripture does, speaks to the undeniable order and design God has woven into His creation. Truly, as Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God!” What better declaration than the announcement of Christ’s birth?
      As for your question about Revelation 12 and the Magi, you’re absolutely right! The Book of Revelation was written long after the Magi's journey to Bethlehem, around 90 AD. So the Magi wouldn’t have had Revelation’s imagery of the woman clothed with the sun, the moon at her feet, or the dragon trying to devour the child. What’s fascinating, though, is that the signs in the heavens the Magi followed and the vision in Revelation 12 seem to reflect similar divine messages written in the stars.
      I think the Revelation passage wasn’t something the Magi would have known ahead of time, but rather it shows us, in hindsight, how God’s story was unfolding on a cosmic level. The Magi were guided by the conjunction and the signs they knew to expect from prophecy, like those in Daniel, Isaiah, and Numbers. Later, when John wrote Revelation, it acted as another layer of confirmation, revealing the cosmic battle that had been ongoing since Christ’s birth. So while Revelation wasn’t the Magi's direct guide, it mirrors the heavenly signs they saw and shows us that God’s plan was written in the stars from the beginning.
      It’s amazing how God used the heavens to announce His Son's birth and continues to speak to us through His creation. Thank you again for your great insight! God Bless!

    Good explanation. Lots of constellation stuff going on in Bible. It’s been hidden on purpose. Best explanation I’ve heard is from John Mchugh on cuneiform polysemy. His explanation needs looked into. It explains most things.

      I’m glad you appreciated the explanation! The Bible does have fascinating connections with constellations and celestial events, like the Star of Bethlehem. It’s true, much has been obscured or lost over time, but when we dig deeper, we uncover how the heavens declare the glory of God. Checking out John McHugh’s work on cuneiform polysemy sounds interesting. It’s always good to explore how ancient texts align with biblical truths. God Bless!

    Now when the magi are in Babylon or Persia or wherever I get they probably were following the constellations and started their journey. But I'm guessing the star they saw that was set over Bethlehem to lead them there since herod and his crew didn't know what was going on. I think that star was probably a angel that could move and direct the magi. Astronomers acknowledge that both stationary and moving solar bodies still wander and move and move with respect to where a person is as the person moves.

    • @underthehoodFL
      @underthehoodFL  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love your insight here! It’s fascinating to consider how the Magi, while following constellations and celestial signs, might have been guided by more than just a physical star. You’re absolutely right-astronomers do acknowledge that solar bodies, while appearing stationary or wandering, still move in relation to a person’s position. But the fact that Herod and his crew didn’t notice or understand the star that the Magi were following could indeed suggest something supernatural was involved.
      Many believe that the star the Magi saw over Bethlehem wasn’t just a regular star but could have been an angel sent by God to guide them directly to Jesus. Angels are often described in scripture as delivering God’s messages and guiding people on their journeys, and it’s possible this "star" was an angelic presence shining brightly to lead the Magi right to the Messiah.
      God often uses both the natural world and supernatural means to accomplish His purpose, so your idea makes perfect sense. Whether it was a celestial star or an angel, God clearly had a special plan in place to ensure that the Magi found their way to Bethlehem. As Psalm 19:1 reminds us, "The heavens declare the glory of God," and sometimes, God’s glory is revealed through extraordinary signs that go beyond what we can fully understand.
      Thank you for sharing your thoughtful perspective! God Bless!

    500 yrs previous daniel in Babylon knew by words of an angel. Imagine daniel puts money into usary ( interest) accrues for that long time. Gold for the king. The Lion is the constellation of kings of the tribe of Judah or sons of David as our king was called. In Moses time it was known of each tribe a constellation for each in the story of future salvation. 12 tribes and 12 constellations round about yearly. Biblical promises verified.

    • @underthehoodFL
      @underthehoodFL  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow, what an incredible connection! The idea that Daniel, 500 years before Christ, received insight from an angel and set the stage for events that would unfold centuries later is so powerful. Imagine, as you said, if Daniel had literally put aside gold that would accrue over that time, destined for the King of Kings. It’s a beautiful reflection of how God's plan spans across time, connecting the dots between prophecy, the stars, and the fulfillment of His promises in Jesus.
      We love the point you made about the Lion of Judah and its connection to the constellation. The lion has always been a symbol of royalty and kingship, and of course, Jesus, the King of Kings, descends from the tribe of Judah. It’s remarkable to think that even in the time of Moses, the constellations were known to represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Each constellation telling the story of future salvation-it’s another way God wove His promises into every layer of creation.
      And when you look at how these biblical promises were confirmed in the stars, it’s just further verification that God’s Word has been true from the beginning. The constellations, the tribes, the prophecies-all leading to Jesus. Thank you for sharing this amazing perspective! God Bless!

    Doesn't Genesis say that we are supposed to look at the stars for signs

    • @underthehoodFL
      @underthehoodFL  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Great question! Yes, in Genesis 1:14, it says: "And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years.’" From the very beginning, God made it clear that the stars and celestial bodies were not only created to give light but also to act as signs to guide us.
      Throughout the Bible, we see God using the stars to declare His messages-whether it’s the Star of Bethlehem guiding the Magi to the newborn King or the constellations that align with prophetic imagery, like in Revelation. The stars are part of God's creation and are used to show us His sovereignty, timing, and the fulfillment of His promises.
      The heavens were made to declare His glory (Psalm 19:1), and they’re there to help us understand the seasons and the divine signs of His plan. So yes, from Genesis onward, God gave us the stars as a way to understand the times and seasons we’re living in.
      Thank you for bringing this up, and it’s a beautiful reminder that God's creation, including the stars, speaks to His greatness and plan. God Bless!

    They followed a "star", an angel...

    • @underthehoodFL
      @underthehoodFL  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      While some believe the Magi followed an angel, the Bible tells us they saw a star in the East that led them to Jesus. This star wasn’t just any ordinary celestial body-it had specific signs pointing to the birth of a king in Israel, as mentioned in Matthew 2. The Magi, being astrologers and scholars of the sky, saw something extraordinary.
      Through research like that covered in The Star of Bethlehem, we see that God may have used a rare conjunction of planets to draw the Magi from the East. What's fascinating is that the event was perfectly timed with prophecies, showing God’s hand at work in the heavens.
      This aligns with the Scriptures where the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1). God used this divine sign to guide the Magi to the Messiah, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies. Angels are indeed messengers of God, but in this case, it appears He used the heavens themselves to proclaim the birth of His Son. God bless!

    There are verse's that are left out the NIV Matthew 18:11 is not there totally skeped

    • @underthehoodFL
      @underthehoodFL  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for pointing that out! Yes, in some translations like the NIV, you’ll notice that Matthew 18:11 is either omitted or placed in the footnotes. This verse says, "For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost." It’s an important verse, and many of us are familiar with it from other translations like the King James Version (KJV). The reason for its omission in the NIV and other modern translations has to do with differences in ancient manuscripts. Some of the earliest Greek manuscripts do not contain this verse, so scholars chose to leave it out to maintain accuracy based on those sources.
      However, Matthew 18:11 is still found in other parts of the Bible, such as Luke 19:10, which says, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." This truth is central to the mission of Jesus, and it’s reflected throughout scripture. While it’s always important to be aware of these differences in translations, it’s also a reminder of why studying multiple translations can give us a fuller understanding of God’s Word.
      It’s great that you’re noticing these details, and it’s a good practice to study deeply, compare translations, and seek God’s truth across all of scripture. God’s message is always consistent-He came to save the lost! God Bless!

The purpose of such images is not to worship them, but to help us reflect on Christ’s love and the gospel message. Jesus Himself took on human form, making Him visible and relatable to us.
