Great video! There is also a striking parallel between Jonah's message for Nineveh and Jesus' message for Jerusalem as described in the Olivet Discourse. Unlike the people in Nineveh, the Jews did not repent. For the chosen ones Jesus was the Way to escape from Gods judgement on the city.
You’ve made an insightful observation! The parallels between Jonah and Jesus highlight profound lessons on repentance and judgment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
So i have come to understand that Jonah had died. His spirit called out in prayer while drowning. He claimed to have been in the depths of Sheol. The fish transported his body, and God raised jonah from the dead. Hence Jesus saying “i will give you one sign, the sign of Jonah.” More fitting that Christ had acknowledged the depth of the truth of that Jonah spent three days in the grave, and consumed, than by the Power of God rose from the grave.
"I descended to the root of the mountains" the Mediterranean Sea is between 1500 and 5000 feet deep. I can't imagine Jonah could hold his breath sinking that deep. "Weeds were wrapped around my head." That sounds like a guy at the bottom of the sea. Water encompassed me to the point of death." and "The earth with its bars was around me FOREVER" These sound like death. I'm not saying for sure that Jonah had died, but that the descriptors are making an amazing and prophetic analogy for Jesus of his death and resurrection.
2 youtubers I listen to Sam Shamoun and George Janko say their ancestry is Assyrian. They are Christians because God spared their descendants/ancestors because they were the few Assyrians who ended up listening to Jonah and turning to the Lord. And centuries later, they are on youtube sharing their faith and spreading the word of God .
Sorry but why do you feel the need to tell extra biblical stories? The hypothesis that Jonah went saying what happened to him to the people of Nineveh is not in scripture. This needs to be clarified. This assumption takes away from the biblical narrative.
Seriously, this sounds like some History channel gobbledegook at times. Let the ancient story told remain the story and stick to the factual context around it without imposing wishful thinking.
You two have great insight into the Scriptures complemented by archeology. Great job! However, instead of the rock music (Hell's Bells) at the end, why not play edifying music which complements the teaching instead of detracting from it?
Thank you for your comment! While some groups hold the view that the Assyrians were the German people, it’s important to stay grounded in what scripture and history tell us. Historically, Assyria was located in the Middle East, around modern-day Iraq, not Europe. The Bible consistently refers to the Assyrians in the context of ancient Middle Eastern kingdoms, and there’s no direct biblical link connecting them to Germany or the Germanic tribes. It's essential to remember that the Bible’s accuracy, supported by archaeological and historical evidence, points to Assyria as a key player in the history of Israel and the surrounding nations, but always within its ancient geographical context. The beauty of scripture is in its clarity and historical consistency. While we can debate various theories, it's vital to be anchored in what the Bible reveals. God’s truth is timeless and doesn't change based on newer interpretations. We believe it's important to align our understanding with what the Bible teaches directly, and it is clear that the Assyrians were a Middle Eastern people. God Bless.
Another thing, sir, Jonah, while God did not destroy the city, automatically loses his title as Prophet. Now hes worried about him and not all those Germans. So God the Father taught him a lesson with the gourd. Now, later, Jonah does save a king and Israel out of certain disaster, therefore regaining his prophetship...

I have the same understanding as you... hallelujah 🔥
Jonah did not die...
@@defensaiyans. There's no way a person can live and survive inside the belly of the fish for 3 days. He must have died and resurrected in Nineveh
The bronco got me to stop and watch your video and got me a a subscriber. Great material

🙂
There was also a solar eclipse that went right over Ninivah during the time Jonah wouldn've been there

It would have indeed been better if he had shared the Assyrian cult beliefs as a possibility rather than asserting it as a fact.

Where did you hear that?
The true Church of God has understood for over 50 years that the Assyrians were the German people.

Upkalu, fallen angels?
The Assyrians sound like Hamas.
Scripture says, GOD prepared a fish. I could survive in a fish that was made to do so by GOD himself
The text is clear. He died in that fish and was brought back to life by GOD. For Jonah prayed even in sheol
