Just executed my first jump out of a Blackhawk. I have to say it was the best jump I've had in the 82nd. It may seem intimidating having your feet dangle out of the bird while seeing yourself elevate 1,500 feet in the air, but when you're up there about to jump, all nervousness clears your mind and you feel nothing but excitement. I was the first man to jump and man was I ready to go.
It reminds me of a poem by a soldier:
"If i die in a war zone,
Box me up & send me home
Put my medals on my chest,
Tell my Mom I did the best
Tell my Dad not to bow,
He won't get tension from me now,
Tell my brother to study perfectly,
Keys of my bike will be his permanently
Tell my Sis not to be upset,
Her Bro will not rise after this sunset
And tell my love not to cry,
"Because I am a soldier Born to Die...."
.
There's less opening shock too because there's less forward throw. From a cargo plane you don't see anything until you're out the door unless you're the jumpmaster. From a UH-60 you see everything the whole time. I always thought that it was rather frivolous because the helicopter could just land on the drop zone, but jumping is more fun.
@@joecitizen4116 Any MOS as long as they are on jump status, but I happened to be Infantry.

I just wish he was prepaird for any thing that could've gone wrong especially in the air like jumping out with parachutes maby hell still be with us. RIP Kobe.. and all others may the lord be with u all....
Hot Damn ! nothing like a good "Chopper Blast" even better, at night on a moon lit night !
Super badass. Wish I had had the balls to do something like that when I was that age... sigh
What parachutes are they using to be able to land like that?
There mighty soldiers
nice jump soilder
That's military aircraft. There's no such thing as a perfectly good one.
I’m just hearing dollar signs every time I watched them jump off
Was that a standing landing from an MC4
i wass one off theme, Rodhe Island , leapfast 2.000
All the f***ing way !!! 💪🏽
My absolute favorite jumps were from Helo's.
It's a lot better jumping out of a perfectly good chopper than to have to jump out of one that isn't!!! I've done both...
Probably won’t get a reply since video old but how does this feeling compare to jumping off a plane
Never attempt to do a standing landing
kabenitezguy lol
How come he didn’t PLF??
Love them Chopper Blasts
Folgore!
Did anybody else see the crop circle
How the hell did he land on his feet?
Out of a "perfectly good" chopper, one of which recently crashed and killed all onboard... How perfectly good, eh? :p
Human error is common.
Name 1 model that never crashed
You're talking about Raider 7, RIP. It's unfortunate that happened.
Folgore
The GoPro must have been on a non-US paratrooper. We activate a canopy release assembly to keep our chutes from re-inflating on the ground.
Not in SOF. Only use it if needed
Give me a like I this is scary
