Heroes. This word is thrown around A LOT lately, but it is just a word, that does no justice for what the men and women of the USCG commit themselves to on a daily basis. Not many people sign up to get paid little and to sacrifice their lives daily. This is the definition of a hero and I thank each and every one of you for what you have done and continue to do for people you do not know, but care deeply about. My mother, three brothers, 4 crew members and myself were rescued by the USCG when our boat capsized, due to extreme weather conditions. We called for help once and they were there, no questions asked, and within a few hours. We were in a remote area, 9nm off the coast of Alaska and were in the water (freezing) for 35 minutes (felt like hours). They had to make 3 trips, but I believe it was the swimmer, that stayed with us, until they returned. Best and worst experience of my lifetime. I wish, that I was able to get their names and buy them all beers for a year, but once they got us back, they refueled and went out again. HEROES!
I have an older cousin who broke multiple ribs during BUDs training, he was unable to complete and the Navy told him he would not recover in time to try again. He joined the helicopter rescue swimmers instead and I never heard him express regret. The way he handled himself when we wrestled in the pool one summer is one of the most remarkable memories I have. I am grateful for his service and for the rescue swimmers in this video.

Hopefully more videos to come of that in the future
God, my heart rate doubled inside 15 seconds. I was a USCG Blue Dolphin at Yorktown, and my age group was my extended-family from the age of about 5, until we each either went off to college on swimming scholarships, or to be rescue swimmers, or maybe even moms and dads. But 6 mornings a week, for 14 years, before school, we were in That pool slapping tiles. The USCG puts great pride in its swimming talent, and I love seeing them get the recognition they deserve. Whoever shot and edited this, kudos! You did an awesome job!
@@thisguy-yv5so how is that high speed its what they teach you. I love the water, used to spend as much time in it as possible. As a person who's a sf para and a firefighter, I can tell with a confidence that these guys are the real deal. This brings a tear to my eyes because I’m going to boot camp for the coast guard soon and here right after. I am so grateful to even have the opportunity and I hope I have what it takes to be one of these men.
just in case this comment isn't a joke: the reason they probably train for that is because when someone is in the process of drowning, they instinctively reach for anything floating and try to get on top of it/them - in this case the people trying to rescue them, which can result in both of them drowning which is why they need training to get someone off them.
I started watching the Coast Guard series in here and the rescues these guys do are amazing… crazy weather, impossible conditions and they save lives when no one else will go out. Amazing! Im a HS teacher and will keep this one in the back of my head for some of my kids searching for careers.
I love these videos. It reminds me of my goals for life. I’m a 15 year old girl in a family full of veterans and people who are deployed. And I want to be the first woman in my family to be like his. It’s a passion ever since I was little it’s always been my passion and goal to serve
This comment made my day a bit better. I also want to work in the military, but often I worry that I can't be strong enough. Sometimes I wish I was a dude, since it looks like (to me at least) that they can get way stronger naturally then women can. It can be a little discouraging from time to time. I'm working out 4 times a week at the moment to try to catch up. I think it's great when other girls also want to do this kind of stuff.
I’m not living with a family of veterans, but I would like to do this, especially because I wouldn’t be shooting and killing people (which I don’t want to do but I also want to serve in the military) instead, saving lives. But I dunno how my family would react, so I don’t know if I would take that job in the future

It takes one special individual to do this job. Selfless service and personal courage are given for a occupation like this but it goes deeper than that. "Love for man" is as close as I can get. To throw yourself into a situation VOLUNTARILY; a situation where the odds are stacked against you. A situation where you find yourself submerged thrashed about by mother nature in the dark abyss that is the ocean to rescue people who are encountering one of the most terrifying times of their life that will stick with them forever and YOU choose to be their saving grace. Love for man is the only thing I can think of that drives these incredibly special individuals. God Bless you.

Don't delete this video! I've got a playlist of 58 military videos that I made for workouts, and this is my favorite of them all.
I truly thank God that there exists men such as these.
Hi
The kids of the present... we need more videos of these things dude
When the US navy is grounded WE GO OUT!!!
When Hurricanes destroy cities and ports WE GO OUT!!!
Josh Spivey saw this movie again last night😂
Great movie
What movie? I’m interested
I am Ian « The Guardian »
Best movie change my mind
I was in the Coast Guard 30 years ago. Wish they had rescue swimmers then. I probably would have tried my damndest to join this elite group. Much respect to rescue swimmers everywhere. Stay safe and Semper Paratus. Bravo Zulu.
I don't care who you are, if you work in a job and your motto is "So Others May Live" you're an ultimate badass.
These people go through a very tough training to become the best, and they are the best! THANKS to everyone single one of them from me. Thanks for posting!
Q sufocooooohhhh 😘
Just plain BADASS !!!!
Thank you USCG !!!
They should put this on Day time tv !!! All the people that have no idea what our Military does !! 75% probably can’t do one task !!
Thank you for your hard work and keeping us safe!!!
J. R. im a 20 year veteran , its ok if the other 75% cant , we voluntarily take on these types of roles to afford those the opportunity to not have to ..it’s their right !
Vodka
Awesome video! Respect to people in the coast guard that helps keep us safe who is willing to give their own life to give others life.❤❤
Every way of giving yourself to my country is a special thing for me. I'm a member of the Mountain Rescue Service (Search and Rescue) as a volunteer. Every colleague in the service is a volunteer. In the future, I want to line up RESCUE3.
Well done boys. Keep it up.
What a great video and recruiting tool! Both my boys just got inspired/motivated to be future Coasties, and I’m a formal “squid” sailor. Mad respect for US Coast Guard. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
people talk like only the seals save the world. every armed personnel have my respect 💯
Differ, some of them save, some of them kill
In the UK most of the coppers are not armed.. They have my respect too.. Well this vid is about the helicopter swimmer coast guards... Let's just send them our thanks and respect.. That's it...

@Veganism Kills btw stay in the cave then.
This has a higher attrition rate then buds
This is seriously the coolest Coast Guard video I’ve ever seen! Excellent production! Thank you to these Coast Guardsmen for their hard work and dedication! Love seeing them enjoy what they do too! (From a proud Coastie Mom)
Hello pretty lady how are you doing
Big respect for the determination and self-discipline to keep pushing, not only through the training/selection, but no less all the years of PT just to get to selection. Staying dusciplined with PT, diet, sleep and not going the path of least resistance is tough. Hats off.✔
I'm coast guard to the bone and to the core.its the job of the military to train us and break us down and build us up stronger than we could ever believe. Hooh rah!!!!!
I am a retired US Army "wolf / mountain lion." My small unit went nowhere near the ocean, but good luck finding or coming after us in the mountains. I am amazed at you "fish / sea mammals," because I ain't going anywhere near the water (ocean). LOL I love how diverse and and different we humans are. If everyone were a carpenter, we would starve (if that makes sense). Great video, and thanks for what you do.
International Oppa just as the wolf/mountain lion is useless in the sea so to is the shark in the mountains and forest. We all have different strengths and weaknesses.
Thank you to the brave men and women of the coast guard. Thank you
This video is what makes me want to be a US CG coast guard when I am older
I really appreciate this USCG going though this training to help others so they don’t die. Thank you USCG.
Bruhs working out chest deep on concrete, showing the brothers with their chests in the grass how it's done. Respect
Great video these guys are nothing less than heroes putting it on the line every day. The hard work and dedication it takes to become apart of the eleit life savers is extraordinary and they have my upmost respect. From a US Marine to all those who take on this calling thank you Semper Fi Semper Paratus

The story of the USCG rescue swimmers In the book A perfect storm brought me here. These guys are incredible legends and their positivity is so inspiring! :-)
The bodypain it takes. Really, it makes the person strong mentally also. I find the music really motivating. Like it will make a really good music when working out. Not a native english speaker so sorry for the grammar.
U DO WELL WITH UR COMMENT NO WORRIES MY FRIEND :)
Definitely a strain almost constantly
I severed with several brother Coasties that were AST's! They are the toughest, strongest, selfless, humble and hardest working men I have ever known. Their love, respect for the ocean and saving lives was immeasurable and probably one of the most dangerous jobs on earth. Semper Paratus!
Thank you so much for helping us and you guys deserve much respect
These guy's are world class athletes and as Elite as they come . Hearts of Polar Bears
Met a couple of them while serving in The USCG. They are truly dedicated🇺🇸

Semper Paratus to The United States Coast Guard, especially It's MSRT Operators and AST Rescue Swimmers.Hooyah!!
Thanks for posting this video. I am an ex-Coastie in my seventies now but people would never believe me when I told them how rigorous our training was back in the day. I see nothing has changed in that regard. Semper paratus
Wait, you’re 70!? If you don’t mind me asking, could you tell me some experiences you had as a Coast Guard?
@@umhi5743
Hmmm . . . In a nutshell, saved a lot of peoples' lives, took several as well, some adventures were classified and still are. Six years translates to a lot of adventures; where do I start?
@@WhatDadIsUpTo Yooo, this is so cool! Maybe start with your first experiences?
@@umhi5743 And maybe not. Wanna know more? Enlist!
Bye
When i was a MA in the navy we worked a lot with MSRT and TACLET. I always felt better when we had a couple rescue swimmers watching us from above. Great bunch of puddle jumpers
Massive respect to these guys! I've been watching this video since it came out and i still love it😁Please bring another video like this one, I'm very excited🤩
That's why USA is number one ( excellence in everything) 💪💪 love from algeria
we need an update on this class . everytime this comes up it is hands down the best recruiting video but also shows some true CORE strength
