different style of metal...that japanes rock/metal instrumental thing is different from american thrash, i grew up listening to alotta j-rock stuff and anime type theme music and it's very guitar heavy, Takayoshi Ohmura is like my fav japanese guitarist, check out Ohmura's stuff too, he's in like 10 different bands haha
