In videos like these it usually helps cutting out from 300Hz to 500Hz, just don't cut above 600Hz otherwise you lose guitar emphasis
Listen, if some of you guys wanna riff on Marty (no pun intended), so be it. You're entitled to your opinion.
BUT, one thing I haven't seen mentioned is this.
If there was no Marty Friedman there would likely have been no Jason Becker. Jason, as technically great as he was at 16 years old, when he hooked up with Marty, who is a few years older than him, he wasn't so good at improvising, according to Marty. But he said that Jason learned extremely quick and that was it. Jason became who he was pretty quick. Maybe he knew his fingering days were limited. Either way, Marty taught Jason some of these things and Jason was amazing. Better than Marty in my humble opinion.

I’ve been to plenty of clubs in the 90’s and didn’t see guys with his skill. He’s not going crazy with distortion and he does something with every note. I love his melodic stuff.
Only album hat was good was dragons kiss but u can tell that he punched in everywhere on the album. Now he just puts out crap . If u want to hear awesome music . And songs that make sense and awesome guitar playing check out scar symmetry. There tons underground players that crush this fool

Marty is a God in his own mind . His philosophy about guitar playing and solos is a joke . He rips on people that play sweep arpeggios... probably cuz he failed miserably at . Tons of guys crush him including john petrucci. His song writing is horrible. Tons of slop on his solos . His songs don't even make any sense!
Why are you here? We all know he's not Petrucci. Pretty much nobody is. So fucking what? Marty's music is excellent. I can't even listen to Dream Theater anymore. The lyrics are infantile, the vocal melodies are retarded, and the vocals are grating. I'd much rather listen to Marty even though I practice playing Petrucci and use Petrucci picks.

in my eyes marty beats petrucci in every other aspect than picking technique.
The 6th Senz, both Marty and John are geniuses and they are better than each other at everything that they do individually, no one can play Marty like Marty and no one can play Petrucci like John can because they are the masters of their own playing styles, and Marty's thing about sweeping isn't that he rips on people who do it, it's that he was never interested in the more common and sought after techniques such as sweeping, hence his awesomely bizarre playing style and technique.
Also, just because you think someone is bad at something or is not as good as someone else doesn't mean you have to be a dick about that person, keep that in mind, and last time I checked he was ranked as one of the world's best guitarists, not you.
