Nice video! I first visited this area in 1996, around the time it first became a national monument. I made it back a few times after that first trip, but haven't been down that way in about twenty years. Your video was a good refresher on the area, but it sure looks a lot more crowded at those trailheads these days! Did you find the crowds to be oppressive, or do folks still get pretty dispersed out there?
Thanks for the comment. I’ve not been back in a few years. It was not too bad though with regard to the crowds a few years ago when on the trails. Parking lots have grown in size over the years though. I’m with you in that I don’t the crowds. The parking lots were the only place that it felt crowded to me and close to full at times. There’s still a ton of space out there hiking to get away from it all. 👍👍👍
Just the video I wanted to see, thx. I have been going to Escalante since 1978 and tried a few times to go down "Hole in the Rock" road. I is just to washboardy for me, and now I have a Ford Van and it is WAY to jittery to drive, it will destroy my van (it is actually a Class B RV). I can barely take the 500 feet it takes just to get to the boondocking spot, which like you said, is right of high 12. But i just watched a video of hiking thru Coyote Gulch, it looks fantastic. But also over the many years I have been going here, the BLM has had to rescue people stranded on this road after one of the many August's flash floods, which tend to wipe out the road.
I’m glad you liked it. Ive seen a few RVs on that road, but they appeared to be rentals. Yeah, I would not take your class B down it. Yes, flash floods are an issue. I’ve also heard about getting stuck in the sand down near Coyote gulch. Thanks for commenting. 👍👍
Wow. I personally would not pull it down that road if you own it. Dust is crazy and you would rattle it to pieces. I’ve seen rented RVs at Spooky Gulch (20 or so miles) which shocks me. Most people park and camp in there RVs just off the road on the right in the boondock area within the first mile to avoid going down that road with an RV. There is plenty of sites to camp there and save your RV.
The upbeat enthusiasm in your voice is captivating....did you hate this drive or something? Holy Lurch!
😀. Yeah. That drive is awful. 👍

Wow! looks like a beautiful place to camp under that arch, I have to add that to my future travels list.
It was one of the best places ever to camp for scenery. The wind abs sand were bad at night however.
Awesome scenery
Thanks for watching. Yeah, scenery is interesting. The slot canyons and gulches along the road are awesome.

Looks like crazy terrain. Nothing like im use to seeing here in Canada! lol. Dont want to break down. Found your channel from Angling Spiders!
Yeah. Not a good place to break down. Thanks for watching.
How many miles down the Hole in the Rock Road do you think a tier drop camper can be pulled?

Thank you so much for the response. I’m going to tent it then. Appreciated.
@@MoutainGuyAdventures I agree 100%, this road has terrible wash boards.
