Alas, my hiking days are behind me. Your videos are so enjoyable: a man and his dog. How I wish I were with you. The Glen Canyon Dam, after Hoover Dam, is the most abominable dam ever built. It was good to see life returning to that once pristine land.
Stunning video! I camped at Lake Powell in the 80's and the water was so clear we'd waterski over spires 10 feet below that looked like you would trip on them. There was no biodiversity like you've shown and I've always wondered was below the surface. Mystery solved! Nature does reclaim what it wants. Thanks for bringing attention to this issue. Give your pup a hug for me. They're great companions.
In the 80's Lake Powell and Lake Mead were spectacular back then. They were over 1000 feet deeper. It takes 26 minutes to walk to the new Boulder Beach from where the beach was in 1984.

This is easily THE most beautiful hike you've taken me on to date. Breathtaking would be the word. I don't know if anyone else noticed all the extra stuff all along the way...... I cannot help but comment. Rocks that look like giant fish, giant seashells, whales, dragons, saddled horses hitched to posts in the side of cliffs, angry birds, giants, giant bears, enormous snakes, huge cats, mermaids, and so many more. Hell, toward the end, I even saw 2 witches. ( I mean they were riding brooms.) The opening scenes on the inside cave walls, I easily spent the better part of an hour looking at all that. Lots of gigantic animals and birds. There also appeared to be a couple of vessels, drawn on the water as if you're looking down on them, boats perhaps, sparkling, shiny lights, pretty colors, I think a pretty lady on board? Even saw a car somewhere along the way.
That was just so mezmerizing!! So well done!! Thank you, i truly enjoyed it!!! Thabk you for showing me this amazing journey you took. I doubt ill ever get to do anything close to this for financial and physical reasons so your videos are treasures for me, thank you and please be safe on your journeys.
Thank you for doing such a difficult & unusual hike. When I was about 6 years old (1953) my parents, who were on the forefront of the movement to preserve wilderness areas, took me & my twin brother to see & hike in Glen Canyon which was soon to be under water. I feel so grateful for the heritage they gave me of love for wilderness areas & the desire to see them preserved.
Thank you taking us with you on such a beautiful hike, it really was spectacular. The blue/green of some of those algal blooms in some of those more stagnant pools, would have made me worry, not, just for my self ,but, particularly for my dog. I different parts of the World & even in dull, old England, they can - if its the wrong kind,be dangerous to fish animals & humans. Years ago having swum in rivers, lakes & waterholes Al over the world, I - with a group of equally drunk friends swam across The Serpentine in the middle of Hyde Park,in the centre of London,we all made it home, the ones who "chickened out" ,but, kindly carried our clothes, were absolutely fine. The rest of us idiots were not only on antibiotics, but,in some case had to deal with a really itchy rash over the whole body. There were two who swallowed water while swimming & they were so sick, they spent days in hospital! I do understand the need for infrastructure when you're building a "better" environment for the humans of the present, but,it does make one wander justvwhat has been lost - forever - worldwide? If you've heard of GöbekliTepe &,other sites in the region, you might know that the discovery of this incredible place, quite literally rewrote the history of humanity overnight! It's stunning, I went to see this incredible site that is more than 6 000 years older than Stonehenge & met Klaus Schmidt, who luckily was already in the area trying to save what he could from the soon to be built dam. Thanks to some hopeless archeology students from The University of Chicago, who were shadowed in the field by Turkish archaeology students, this incredible site had been dismissed as unworthy of saving, have said itvwas little but a 2nd rate example of a Byzantine Graveyard! As a result the site was a couple of weeks away from being dynamited to rubble to be used in the creation of the dam. Thank The Goddess for Mr Schmidt, who using every contact he had was able to combat human & bureaucratic indifference and sadly died after working one one of the most important sites, found so far. In the area there are now,I believe 12(?) similar sites but we're still no nearer an answer. Sadly for everyone one of you,in America there is a group of MAGA supporters, who couldn't care about history or the indigenous cultures of North America, with amazing discoveries made if not daily then at least monthly. Of the amazing earthworks, mounds etc found right across the continent by early European incomers there is now less than 10% of documented sites still in existence! Unlike Europe, many sites on private land are utterly ignored by owners of the land,if they themselves haven't already dug into them with heavy machinery hoping for gold, not realising, like you so eloquently displayed, that not all treasure is to be exploited. It's hard having grown up,visiting Egypt at least every 2 years,Greece every year & sailed all around the Mediterranean both Northern & Southern Coasts,up into the Black Sea & even sailed from Gibraltar to The Azores,I find it hard to comprehend the mentality that would flood or destroy a part if the history of a land so many now call home. I still find it hard that the quality of your awesome filming & editing is done by you alone and you are only accomplished by your legend of a dog & your drone/s. Kudos, for such awesome content & it's very quality you also have an excellent voice for narrating you videos, impressed & very appreciative. Have a great weekend.Very best wishes to you & yours,am as ever looking forward to the next one.

I am glad you bring us these video's , for most of us will NEVER see these places. I will be gone but man wants to control EVERYTHING on this planet EXCEPT MAN. Not unlike ants that move once they exhaust their food supply , Man will do the same and have no place to move to.
Ants are just like men. Half of them carry the ant eggs in one direction, half in the other direction, the large half usually wins, and ant life goes on in spite of the absurdity. But ants aren't very intelligent, are they?

This video was the most scary one I have watch ! Very beautiful ,very challenging waking ,all extremely hard to do. ❤
Awesome Nolan! Thanks for taking us here!
A very loyal trooper to follow you through thick and thin! Thank you for sharing your adventures. I loved it!

Excellent adventure. Its so very beautiful..I love You and Your beautiful dog. Thank You Nolan. Shared.
Awesomly well done video! This was incredibly lovely. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us!
