Some of their early hits were "Spicks & Specks", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "Holiday", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "Words", "The Singer Sang His Song", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.

I have just looked up this song because I used to sing it on my way to school in Hanwell, West London in the 60s. I can vividly recall walking through the Cuckoo Estate which was built to help sort out the overcrowding in the denser parts of London, and singing this song. The words just caught my imagination as did the voices. Happy, happy times when London was a joy to live in. I was blessed.

Released in 1968 and was a #1 hit on the UK charts. A turbulent time in history, Martin Luther and Bobby Keenedy were assasinated, a year later we walked on the moon, Viet Nam was blazing with the country ripe with war protests as many caskets were returning home. Richard Nixon was president and later resigned in disgrace. And then there was the music that somehow held the world together..... songs like this that I remeber so well when I was only an 11 year old. My older sister had a huge collection of 45s and I used to sneak in her room when she was not home to play them. I used to wear this 45 out! I loved the Bee Gees, especially their early stuff like this song, How Do You Mend A Broken Heart, To Love Somebody etc etc. Always enjoy your reaction Harri, TY.

Then came the 1975 songs Nights on Broadway, Jive Talkin’, and Fanny Be Tender, Songbird, and Baby as You Turn Away. Then came 1976 with You Should Be Dancing, Love So Right, Subway, Wasn’t that the Way It Was,You Can’t Keep a Good Man Down Feel free to react to any of those. Robin doesn't sing higher than Barry in either natural voice or falsetto. According to Kennedy Center Honors site, Guinness World Records & Billboard also lists Barry alongside Paul McCartney as 2 of the most successful popular song writers of all time. Barry will be one of the 2023 honorees, which will take place on Dec 3rd.🎼

This is a great song. Like you Harri I love the music from the Bee Gees they are the best. They have written more than a thousand songs. Many number one hits for other artist as well. So much talent!! Thanks Harri

This record dropped when I was a kid. A neighbor lent me the reel to reel tape and when I heard it, I froze.
It was so amazingly beautiful. also on it was the BeeGees, mining disaster song.
I also heard that day Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, and Miles Davis. A good day to remember.

At 1:17 that sound you’re talking about got me obsessed with this song!! Did not realize it was a guitar, i thought it was some sort of synthesizer or something! No idea what technology was available in 1968 tho 😂

Great pick Craig. Robin can sing with the best of them. Very good reaction Harri. 🙃👍🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🤴
