Tysheen, Andy was born in 1958 so he was only 10 years old when his brothers were singing here. He died in 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. I'd love for you to react to several of Robin's leads, "I Can't See Nobody", another song from this same time period, as well as "I Started a Joke". You'll really get to know what a beautiful voice (with that wonderful vibrato) Robin really has. Please use their 1974 Melbourne concert for your reaction for "I Can't See Nobody". This is a great source for reacting to many of their late 60's to early 70's hits where Robin often had the lead or shared leads with big brother Barry, like on "I Gotta Get a Message to You". I always suggest their 1989 Melbourne concert for "I Started a Joke" however, because I really feel that this performance was his very best one. The audience agreed since they gave him a standing ovation that lasted almost one minute. If you react to these two Robin leads using the concerts suggested, I promise that you won't be disappointed!

I was 15 when this came out, I loved it. My favourite was 'I started a joke'.
I was 8 years old and cried buckets lol i was a sensitive kid - which means i spent a lot of time in both laughter and tears in the 60s and 70s lol; we had all the music. If you love this and are knocked out by the harmonics, please try Jethro Tull, Yes and of course Pink Floyd. I'm following your channel , this is so much fun for us old people! Almost makes me want to do an "old people react to young people" 😂💞
Very nice reaction. Maurice had a sweet and soft voice. I adore when he's singing lead. He did it on several songs , for example: "Man in the middle", "Trafalgar", "You know it's for you", "Man in the middle", "On time", "Railroad", "Lay it on Me", "Country Woman", "On Time", "The loner", "Walking on air", "All by myself"(1966), "Hold her in your hand", "Dimensions", "House of shame", "Suddenly", "Overnight", "Omega man", "Country man","Angel of mercy", "Above and beyond", "Wildflower", ‘’Lonely winter’’, ....and don’t forget his unissued LP "THE LONER" etc,. ...

Andy was 30 in 1988 and died that same year soon after his birthday.

So Interesting, any younger person wouldn't even know "you ain't gotta dime, there's not time for the phone.." in the song, meant, it took 10 cents to make payphone call back then. Most won't even know what a "payphone" is/was?
Maurice was there playing base and wearing a vest over a white shirt. Barry would be about 21 and the twins 18, so Andy (12 years younger than Barry) was only about 9 at this time. Maybe react to ROBIN GIBB SAVED BY THE BELL for one of Robin’s early solo songs written and recorded without Barry, and MAURICE GIBB ON TIME for one of his early solo songs written and recorded without his brothers. Andy had a different quality (almost hoarseness??) in his voice that sets it apart from Barry, but they are similar. React to ANDY GIBB SHADOW DANCING to help you hear his voice.
Andy brought out his own album which I bought and I loved that too. I can't remember what year it was though.
What's always so thrilling to me is the way, they bring the verses, whoever does lead, to their three-part-harmony choruses, which are unbeatable good. Barry dominates here, so he's always singing the first voice, Robin second, what's kinda difficult, so he's singing first voice on verse and Maurice with his great sense for music, doin' third voice so easily, but it's not if you try it. Over the years, Maurice did lots of leads on songs like 'Lonely Winter', 'All By Myself', 'Where Are You', 'Kitty Can', 'Suddenly', 'My Thing', 'Railroad', 'Lay It On Me', 'It's Just The Way', 'You know It's For You, 'On Time', 'Country Woman', 'Trafalgar', 'Wildflower', 'House Of Shame', 'Dimensions', 'Overnight', 'Omega Man', 'Angel Of Mercy', 'Above And Beyond', 'Closer Than Close, 'Hold Her In Your Hand', 'The Bridge', 'Walking On Air' and 'Man In The Middle'. Rather complete list, so go on! But did you know, that he was on british singer Lulu's (his first wife) TV-Show, where they did a heartbreaking duet of the Bee Gees classic 'First Of May'. To me, a must to check out!

Maurice was up there. He was playing guitar/bass I can't remember which. Andy wasn't a part of the Bee Gees. This song is about a man who is being executed for murder. I have now seen five reactions and only one got it.

Words and Run to me are great ones. I like Robins voice best.
