I have been on the previous Vanquish series from HED for the past 4 years, making it my longest run with any wheel brand - and for a good reason. The wheels made in Minnesota boast not only impressively low drag values, but also excellent crosswind stability.
For this year, they have brought out an overhaul for the whole range. For me, this means a new wheel setup for my TT bike. In this video I will talk about the new wheels in detail, and I will show you how I prepare a standard set to be my race wheelset for TT days, including bearing upgrades and the tire setup + the reasoning behind them. - กีฬา
Good review, Rony. I believe they are making very solid products, not overly hyped.
Thanks 🙏
another spectacular bike. What ceramic bearings do you use? The combination of white logos on the frame and the wheels gets 5 stars.
Thanks! I’ve used Cyclingceramic this time.
good vid rony, if I may suggest, use some kind of rubber cover for vice grips
Thanks. I have soft aluminium jaws in there, so there’s not much point in that
i don‘t really believe that they are the fastest wheels 24 spokes in modern era and external nipples i think there is still a lot of room for improvment less spokes, carbon spokes (thin an wide) and internal nipples and internal valve eg NEWMEN
Luckily it’s not a question of belief 🙃
Internal nipples do absolutely nothing for aerodynamics, as it has been proven many times. Same goes for carbon spokes. Also, good luck making a durable and stiff DB wheel with fewer than 24 spokes… not that those would anything to the frontal area either. As for the valve, aero valve covers do exist.
Hey Rony, amazing bike (again)! I'm wondering why you moved from the Hanzo?
Just fancied a change? I'm envious of either haha 😂.
Hope it gives you some seconds so you can win Nationals again.
Thanks! I really liked the geometry, that was the main reason.
I am currently on a Hanzo and use a Black Inc. Zero Disc. The disc is wide. Would like not to have to unload it. Wondering if it would work on a TT1?
I can’t see why not
Hi, do you by any chance ship the decals overseas or do you only do it locally?
We can ship them anywhere
And now for the most important factor, does the new disc make that chopper / womp sound??
Yes! Not super loud though, as the cover is very stiff.
Rony, do you have any data to back up the aero advantage claims of Hed over the competition?
Yes
@@ronykuba will you share? ;)
@@YtseHWSW it’s on the Aerocoach website
Could the rear wheel be re-centered if it runs out of true?
Yes
What about Roval wheels? Allthough they wouldn’t quite match with the Colnago bike
Not even Roval sponsored teams ride them… so no thanks 🙃
@@ronykuba Alex dowset mentioned they are good, combination Factor ostro vam with rovals in his case
@@QrankChannel the hubs are crap, the disc is fragile and they have no TT front wheel at all, so I can’t see why that would be the case.
Why you change Factor to Colnago? 🤔
I like the geometry
What happened to ur Factor TT Bike ??
I have sold it
