808s or similar...amazing for Ironman when you're railing along in a straight line for a long time. Sometimes scary (especially here in NZ) in the wind, but once they're spun up they absolutely rock.
@@props651That thing is stunning and looks like it would be a super fun ride! Been running a fixed gear on my gravel/packing monstrosity and there's really nothing like running a single gear offroad. Painful, but fun!
As owner of the Super X, I agree colourway is RUBBISH, very happy for you guys to sand it back if you want more practice? It's needed an annual headset bearing replacement as the "cone" still lets lots of crap into bearing (thanks Cannondale). But it does ride fantastically and you don't have to look at the silly paint while pedalling it!
why do you guys not like planet x? I've had a planet x titanium fram for seven years, the geometery of which was actually designed by Mark Reilly of Reilly works and the frame comes from the Walty factory in China. It's been a great light bike
@@paulm5662 The original frames designed by Mark Reilly were: The Spitfire (the raod bike), the Hurricane (the endurance frame) and the Tempest (thw gravel frame (a bit ahead of it's time really and originally 2x). I got the Spitfire. Once all replaced all the alloy finishing kit with carbon it weighs at just on 7kg. The only thing slowing it down is me. The penalty for going with the road fram back in 2017 is, no disc brakes and only tyre clearance for 25s
I have a titanium road frame from them, for about 10 years. The ti proroad, that preceded the frames designed by M Reilly. It´s still as good as new, many thousands of km later.
hey, dunno if someone already pointed out, but you can buy flush topcap for Canondale headset - part number is KP253, i think it's for 15eur or something like that

Elves uses names from the universe of The Lord of The Rings: Vanyar, Falath... Orome is one of the Valar (demigods) in that universe, so I'd guess it's the inhouse wheel brand of Elves haha
The elves rider is probably not that small, the top tube is just REALLY high. Top tube is at the same height as the bars (normally it's at least a couple centimeters below the stem) and the top tube is nearly straight. Seatpost to bar drop doesn't seem that big, but I think because of the heigh top tube it looks small. Stack/reach is probably quite reasonable!
that s-works does at the min look repainted with a replacement sticker. the hyphen looks a little off, head and tail ends of the 'S's look the tiniest bit too thick, something looks off on the 'R' and 'K' also don't the forks just have an S logo?
Frame manufacturers need to talk to firearms coating manufacturers; cerokote, Diamond Like Coating/DLC, TiNi Carbide, etc. all phenomenal in their respective ways and durability that lasts from high wear to extreme environments!

Usually not - if you think about it, half of the chainring is wrapped in chain regardless of its orientation on the oval - although the top and bottom runs of chain are very slightly different in angle depending where in the rotation the chainring is, the effect on chain length overall is minimal.
@@DL-mv8ii in a perfect world, yes, but as someone who rides singlespeeds (but has never tried oval rings on any bike) I know that even supposedly round rings aren't perfectly round and can result in some transmission noise due to the chain tension changing very slightly. A titanium hydro formed shape can go up to 60 centimeters, so yeah they could do bike frame. But it's only used in very specific aerospace applications since the companies who master the process know they can charge a shit ton of money for since most who have tried failed miserably 😂
Love that Jimmy trys to be tactile about Elves branding, while Francis goes for the jugular: Jimmy: "It's not a great looking logo is it..." Francis: "It looks like ovaries"
I echo Jimmy's opinion about titanium bikes: They all look the same, like literally. Because there's no coloring. If I want metal, I use steel or aluminium. It's way cheaper and you can get an actual cool paintjob. Corrosion is not really a huge concern if a steel frame is coated internally and if you look after it once in a while. If weight is that much of an issue, I wouldn't really go metal in the first place. But even steel bikes can be brought close to the UCI weight limit. So for me, there's really no obvious argument for titanium. It's just expensive and seems to have an aura of exclusivity that some people seem to go for.
Hunt Wheel, big thumbs down from me after one failed on me big time 40 miles from home when 4 spokes gave out. I re-spoked the wheel with stronger spokes and the wheel failed again. I will never touch another Hunt product.
