If an entire slate of movies turns out to be terrible, the responsibility likely falls on the producers or studio. However, since the studio is capable of producing masterpieces like Spider-Verse, it's almost certain that the producers themselves are the real problem.
Hiring the wrong writers who don’t have the ability to plan their things together to crossover. Marvel was setting a standard that Sony couldn’t keep up with. Now even Disney can’t keep up with their own formula. I guess these actors’ contracts aren’t easy to work with 😂 So producers hiring the wrong people and not giving them the ability to cook and the studio being hamstrung by contracts that massively favor the actors and not easily allowing for cameos that this franchise desperately needed. Instead they had to just work with what they had. Keaton probably contracted in for multiple appearances so they had him showing up. Hardy had 3 films so they didn’t want to waste him on a cameo. Early marvel had Chris Evans coming back every year. I don’t think we see that again from Hollywood. Doesn’t feel like a big ask but agents of actors don’t want them under such contracts. This franchise could’ve worked if they had Hardy Venom showing up in the spin off movies but the writers couldn’t incorporate him coz Hardy’s deal was only for 3 films. (Probably what do I know lol)
Venom: “Eh pretty fun.” Venom 2: “Eh pretty fun but…” Morbius: “This is joke right?” Madam Webb: “Was that a fever dream” Venom 3: “Eh I give up” Karven: “Who runs this studio?”

I think that there are 3 good movies possible with the 3 NON-Venom films, but they tried to stretch them out to match the financial success of the first Venom. The studio saw that success and thought "oh we can just put any of these characters into a movie and it will make a ton of money" which doesn't work. In the end if you go into it trying to make a "hit" then you still only have as much of a chance of making a hit as you would if you just went in trying to make a good movie. The difference is that if you go into it trying to make a good movie then even if its not a hit, you'll still have good movie that will in time find a version of success. What Sony did was make a bunch of films that were not commercially successful, not artistically or technically appreciable, nor simply enjoyable to watch.
I genuinely feel bad for the talent. Yes, they took the role. I get that. But there's a lot of really talented people who now have this garbage attached to their names forever. I don't think they knew going in these movies would be this terrible. But, I do think they knew before they wrapped. However it was probably too late to do anything about it.
When a studio's main goal is to make money, it is incentivized to cut costs as much as possible to increase its profits. That's the difference between Marvel Studios and other studios making hero movies. Marvel Studios prioritizes the content and storyline before trying to cash in as much as possible. Sony knows exactly what they were doing... They prioritized making money.

It's too bad Sony didn’t just go with 3 Venom movies, the joint Spiderman movies, and the animated movies. We would be singing their praises. And they would have made several hundred million more dollars.
Honestly, Andrew should've been in the Venom movies, and Tobey should've been in Morbius and Kraven. And Madame Web could've easily been a prequel to ASM
Feels like sony wanted/ expected these movies to be prequels for characters to build into this "universe" they needed to come out with those characters strongest arc and hopefully build enough free karma to get a prequel lore of that character that led them into being compelling villian / arch villian
Honestly, I blame the audiences for the venom movies. Not a single one of them was good, but they all made money at the box office. Sony saw that success and thought they could implement it with other characters they had no business trying to turn into antihero protagonists. This was a failure of an idea since 2018 and the viewing audience is part in parcel to blame, we told Sony “yes, this mediocrity is okay”
Naw, I love the Venom films and I’m happy I went to go see them. Blame the company and not the fans for making the other movies not as enjoyable for the mass audience as the Venom films were.
@ the company made those other movies based off of the success of that mediocre trilogy, you can’t tell me you saw a PG-13 carnage movie and thought it was a good idea, especially after dropping a hard R Kraven movie, Sony took y’all’s money and ran smh
@@alexandermoshenko4416 I’ll tell you right now, I saw the film and I enjoyed it for what it was. I never had a bad time watching the Venom films but other Sony films didn’t even work as decent films you can have a good time seeing.

I hope they never go down a path like this again.
I have this crazy theory where people who worked on these movies did a terrible job on purpose so Sony would feel forced to give Spiderman's IP back to Marvel
Sony is legit telling us what they are doing without out right saying “These films are created to serve Beyond the Spider Verse “ . Why is it not obvious?

Sony:The kings of giving us what we didn't ask for.
Sony you went wrong with the PS3, I’ll keep playing my 360.
Anyone who was smart didn't wonder what the title of Venom: The Last Dance meant
Carnage should have been a straight up R rated scifi horror film.
Erick just mad that his daddy spider -man’s wasn’t in the movie 💀😭
Can you guys please stop using critic scores. Use the popcorn meter instead of tomatoes. Fans no longer care what critics say
Feels like sony wanted/ expected these movies to be prequels for characters to build into this "universe" they needed to come out with those characters strongest arc and hopefully build enough free karma to get a prequel lore of that character that led them into being compelling villian / arch villian
The guy playing Sup looks the part... but I'm going to wait for streaming, we'll when it's no extra cost.
I couldn't have put it better myself, thank you
Naw, I love the Venom films and I’m happy I went to go see them.
@ and honestly, if you’re saying you enjoyed the venom trilogy as a whole outside of just the first movie then that’s all I need to know lmfaooo
@@alexandermoshenko4416 I’ll tell you right now, I saw the film and I enjoyed it for what it was. I never had a bad time watching the Venom films but other Sony films didn’t even work as decent films you can have a good time seeing.
It was all for money. There was no direction, care to the character, and above all no spiderman. Besides Venom, all those movies were TRASH. They called turned into memes and Sony didn't seem to care as long as they made a profit.
Eventually casuals realized that these aren't Marvel Movies. I hope they never go down a path like this again.
Damn I was waiting for that Hypno Hustler movie 🥲
Erik, as a die hard survivor fan, I need to hear your season by season thoughts, survivor 47 finishes tomorrow so I need your thoughts on every season
I have this crazy theory where people who worked on these movies did a terrible job on purpose so Sony would feel forced to give Spiderman's IP back to Marvel
Not me watching this whole thing even tho I haven’t watched a single one of these movies 😂
I have a huge fear that beyond the spiderverse will fall into GTA IV limbo
Sony is legit telling us what they are doing without out right saying “These films are created to serve Beyond the Spider Verse “ . Why is it not obvious?
