Audi TT convertible top trick

In many cases this will get the convertible top to function on an Audi TT.
Although this is an extremely common problem, there are lots of other switches and components that can malfunction. NOTHING BEATS A QUALIFIED REPAIR SHOP, but saving a few bucks is pretty sweet too.

Thanks for the advice however mine is 9 years old and it just started having this issue. Besides this one issue (unlike other German cars) the car design is great and it's a very fun drive. Haven't found anything comparable as far as materials and quality goes. Everyone loves their plastic door handles and plastic painted silver. This model has metal door handles and aluminum inlays. I love my ride!

I was cleaning my similar TT today prior to selling at a dealer in 2 days time. On testing my roof to make sure it lowered OK I got the "roof cannot be used" error in the dash. After a short panic I found this video and bingo!! After a wiggle of the left and right roof flaps, the roof worked flawlessly again!

I have a 07 A-4 & Besides changing the convertible top motor that I found @ pullofpart I realized that the trey in the trunk of the car was the issue
