My Avus silver TT has severe paint degradation on the offside. It’s either been keyed some time or it’s been parked that side to the sun. So it’s been painted to repair. No where near the paint quality of factory paint. So I have decide how to get it painted too ! I enjoy your videos. 👍🏼
Good to see you back bud, my TT 225’s been off the road for a month as it’s got a possible driveshaft or gearbox issue… haven’t had it seen to yet as I’m worried to the core over the possible cost to fix, biting the bullet and getting her back on the road after seeing this😊
Bought one in November for 2k, it has 84k miles, drove it for about month then broke down on me & has been in the garage since for lots of work done...i get it back 2moro. Cost me nearly 2k to fix various issues but I think it's worth it...well that's what i have convinced myself 😂. Good luck with yours & can't wait to see your progress.
I have a 180 with a snapped belt. I have a full replacement top end including a new head. Desperately hoping the bottom end is ok. Quoted £400 for the head replacement, water pump, oil change and timing. I think that’s a bargain. Just really crossing my fingers that the bottom end is ok. 🤞🏻
I'm in a similar boat with my 225 TT, 151k miles, servicing - it needs everything, (cambelt etc) plus thermostat, bushes, rear shocks. I'm thinking is it worth it and its looking like a restoration project.
I’m feel selfish in saying this, but I’m keen to see you fix as many things as you can, in as much detail as possible. I have personally, have watched many of your videos multiple times, when fixing my mk1 TT. I can’t thank you enough. 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀☮️ PS. Coil wiring fix😊
My 2004 TT225 has 250,670 miles as of today. (The car is actually now my son's. Had to keep it in the family!) I changed the engine oil every 5,000 miles, Haldex every 20,000 miles or less, and the gearbox oil every now and then. I put the Haldex Blue Sport controller on when they were still available. The timing belt, tensioner, and water pump every 65,000 miles or less. The clutch has been replaced a couple of times. And the front struts and control arms once. The steering rack has been replaced, and the rear differential has. Brake fluid not as many times as it should have been. Can't remember if I ever changed either front axle(s). And spark plugs every 50,000 miles or so with NGK Iridium plugs. The car has a Revo tune. That said, not bad for a 20 year old car. Just this week, I replaced the front strut mounts (collapsed), the gearbox oil, the Haldex oil, fuel filter, brake fluid, spark plugs, front sway bar links, and rear shocks (which looked like they were original). I suspect the front struts are a little tired, too, but didn't get to those. The rest of the rear suspension is in amazingly good shape with minimal rust.
My lemon bought in December ran fabulously. Until the clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there. The AA man said convincingly, ;that's the clutch master cylinder gone'. Fixed that, it wasn't the issue. It was the clutch slave cylinder and whilst in there a new clutch and dual mass flywheel, as they were both on their last knockings... Enjoy!
I still love the styling of the TT outside and inside. The newer versions kept the iconic styling of the mk1 just modernised it. Whenever I see I wish I had it...
I'll certainly be weighing up the options, if the bottom end is usable then the quickest solutions is just to refurb the head, but if the bottom end is no good, then a replacement engine would be more likely, that is of course if the rest of the car proves to be worth saving!
First time I’ve heard of only 200 s lines….. they were basically facelift before facelift became the standard, so they’re really nothing special at all

Sounds standard. I stopped counting the expenses after a while...lol
Definitly the right man for the job, looking forward to the journey👌👌
Happy to see your back in a new way. Can’t wait to watch this show again.

Sounds like a keeper for sure!

You just described the last major thing on my own TT 😂
Yeah I tend not to listen to the AA man 😂 sounds like you’ve got it sorted now though!
Good to see the Mk1 TT don is back!!
Gonna love watching all this being done!
I still love the styling of the TT outside and inside. The newer versions kept the iconic styling of the mk1 just modernised it.
Whenever I see I wish I had it...
Nice buy, the votex kit's worth over 1k on its own. Looking forward to see what you do with it.
Yeah it’s the only thing of value on the car! Well that and the cup holder 😂
I think you could turn this around Bryn, maybe find a cheap low mileage engine for a swap, look forward to the tear down 👍

I love that kit it’s got on it. Tbh mine for £950 seems like a bargain!
Great too see a new instalment !
🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀☮️
Brought mine on 90k, did 20k miles with one issue. Fuel filter pipe popped off (my fault). Can’t fault it.
Get some wet and dry 2500 grit on that body work
Cool car though, looking forward to seeing what you do next. Feels like it should be OEM+
It’s an option- it can’t make it any worse can it 😂
Bit of colour magic polish and it will be fine.
Got some products on the shelf to have a try with, see if there’s any way to save it
Looking forward to this😊
How many tt's do you have to your name now and how do you keep up with all the monthly costs???
Only 3 at present- my low mileage black coupe, this moro coupe and a mk2 TTS
Could this be one of the 200 mk1 slines if so worth saving?
First time I’ve heard of only 200 s lines….. they were basically facelift before facelift became the standard, so they’re really nothing special at all
Heavy compound on that paint will bring it up I reckon
Fingers crossed
The MK1 TT has ageless beauty.
Where do you buy your brave pills?
Looking forward to the new content. Just subscribed aswell. Dont live to far away if you ever need help
Thanks for the offer
even on a south african standard, i cant believe how little you paid for it
Your videos are to short geezer,I love my TT and have learnt a lot from your knowledge
That paintwork is a mess, so you bought a votex kit that came with a free car 😂😂
In a nutshell yeah 😂
you got a microphone!
Had it for a couple of years, just don’t always use it
how dm? hope sponsor
You already sent me a turbo to review- which I’ve not posted the video yet because the product isn’t up to a good enough standard to be fitted
