    QUOTES:
“You've never mastered really anything, you can be great at something but there's always another level in sports to be better.” [3:53]
“We underestimate what people might be going through inside, even if they look like they have it all figured out on the outside.” [12:06]
“If you don't know how to manage the beast inside, you could really be struggling.” [12:20]
“I only let myself lean into the darkness until I know that now it's in danger of being corrosive.” Tom Bilyeu [15:05]
“To just know, if someone wanted to do something, I would be able to take care of myself, that gives me inner peace, that eliminates anxiety” [18:16]
“The discipline of doing something painful every day, I think, is one of the most important disciplines that any human being can have. Whatever that pain looks like for you, I believe we must lean into the pain every day.” [18:36]
“It's not enough to do the work in the past. It's a continual process in the present. That makes me feel at peace every day.” [24:19]
“Love is not enough for a long term committed, healthy relationship to fully work.” [29:28]
“I'm willing to grow and improve but I'm not going to just do something to create peace.” [39:51]
“The ability to have a beginner's mind, find and surround myself by great coaches, and be unapologetic in asking for feedback. Feedback has been a huge indicator of my success.” [43:55]
“Just because someone's giving you feedback doesn't mean it's true about you. So, don't take it personally. And see where is the truth in there, and how can you apply it” [45:16]

I love Lewis because he never stops learning- about himself, about relationships, about people, business, life. He's aggressive about his own personal development and it's paid off. Love you Lewis. (and Tom) :)

Never stops learning is something I did when I started the journey of stopping nailbiting habit. This really changed the way I was able to solve this issue. Now after finding the solution, we decided it's time to help others. We started posting videos on our youtube channel and this is something we are really excited about. (Especially the smile we see on people's faces after they are able to stop :))

I agree with you. Lewis Howes was a person who really motivated myself when I started the journey of stopping nailbiting habit. I invested more than $10k into myself, different courses, consultants, teachers -- after some time I was able to control my urges and stop nailbiting habit for good. Now we help other people stop nailbiting habit, hundreds of success stories. We even post videos on our TH-cam channel on how to stop and control those urges. Anyway, Lewis Howes is a legend himself!

I feel like I can relate to Lewis a lot. I've been told that I can see patterns in life and I've had internal anger/hurt/resentments/life ending thoughts pent up (still do to some extent). I'm trying to grow and figure out what I really want to do and how to apply myself, but I keep getting stuck in my own head. Getting help is honestly where I'm heading, but as Lewis was speaking at the beginning, I literally was like "omg it's me". So thank you Tom for having Lewis on, it's helped me feel not so alone and that there is a future for me.

Interesting point Lewis brings up about taking input from anyone and everyone and using it constructively. For a long time I've used the same general idea. The instances I still struggle with is when someone approaches and, under the thinly-veiled guise of "constructive criticism," begins to insult, knowingly and in bad faith, the topic at hand. They just want to try to minimize you and try to make you as small as possible. I despise people like that, and always feel compelled to call them out on it and ask them if such regressive behavior is really benefiting their life.

  • @Danielle-Mah

I think both Lewis and Tom shared interesting perspectives on paid coaching. I used to think that coaching is the only way to uplevel ourselves but over the years, I find that it’s only a good option depending on the season of life you’re in. If you are seeking outside support a coach is great, but if you’re in a season of silence and solitude, you’re better off self studying or attending a quiet solo retreat.
While I do agree with having coaches to spot blind spots and give us feedback, we still have to be in a state of willingness to receive it. I don’t suggest people hire out coaches without self reflecting on their current needs and goals. I also believe coaching is beneficial if you find the right match and your expectations are clear. But many people hire coaches without enough self awareness and that usually ends up painting a negative light on paid coaching, or the coach themselves did not properly vet their clients.

It’s very interesting how much my Life parallels Lewis. I literally just got into a fight on the basketball court a few weeks back. I have all this pent up aggression and I have these triggers. I served 5 years in prison and never went back. Worked for a Music /magazine, went to film school, owned a skate shop and yet I feel tethered to the past emotion that don’t allow me to fully realize myself…but this was a great interview. I like this concept as well! Something I was using when I stopped nailbiting habit-now helping others do the same through the free videos we post on our TH-cam Channel on day-to-day basis.

Biggest 3 take aways... 1 Tom's interviewing skills has increased 10 x because he allows Lewis to speak and not interrupt him. 2 Lewis's biggest SUPERPOWER is the way he articulates his feelings. 3 Welcome back Tom on IMPACTING your viewers. Classic
