Great video because you speed through some of the mundane parts. Also like how you show some of the difficulties we're likely to encounter, such as getting the pump cover off. Great job.
@Zpe3ddyGonzalexx I used a socket extension, and by going through from the opposite end and just catching the edge of the bearing, I taop it out slowly and carefuly. You'll want to change position of the tool often while doing this process so it comes out 'square'. Don't force it, just take your time. Use a large socket as a tool when installing the new one from the outside of the pump. Tape the socket evenly across the surface and it will seat the new one. (Remember how it should look)
#1, pull plugs and turn motor counter clockwise by hand!!! If o.k., make sure it has injector oil, grease the driveshaft coupling if there is, change fuel lines if they are the gray factory ones, fresh plugs. You might want to siphon out old fuel and put in 92 octane. Check compression after engine is warm. Be sure to ground the plug wires properly and never boost from a running vehicle or you could blow the ECM. Post more questions if you like:)
Thank you so much for the info! I did notice one problem once I was ready to start ski did not want to turn over, I purchased new battery since it did not seem to turn did not help, pulled plugs turned over no problem. any ideas?
Other possibilities at this point: Dirty or loose contacts preventing full power = turning over torque. Also, can you turn the damper wheel (at back of engine) over by hand without the plugs in? (counter clockwise) Seeing it's a '95, could be a dirty or weak starter too. I just did one a few days ago that had a sticky Bendix. You could open it up and clean parts and check the brushes. Might be time for new (brushes). I have a vid on that too.
I appreciate what you are doing with these videos but I do suggest ANY time an o-ring is removed it MUST be replace with a new one and please dispose of oil properly.
Thanks for your post cuv4xd ! I just bought a 97 seadoo xp and when I start it, its hard to start then when I do get it started its hard to stay started, but after awhile it will be ok and run pretty well once it warms up then if you ever tke a break for awhile get back on it, its the same thing again, do you think I need plugs ? thanks !
how can i remove the bearing from the housing,i just orderd a new housing pump 3 vanes were almost gone, guy at the dealer said check ur bearings and if good use the same ones,
Good trick for the oil cap that he was hitting with a rubber hammer. You spray WD40 on the cap then tap with the hammer. The spray will make it fall right off!!
@lilcritchy Just watched YOUR vid. Your a stupid disrespectful punk kid who hasn't grown up yet. I'll leave your stupid comment here for a bit so others may witness what a 89 IQ looks like. You should become a cop and fight against Liberty and Freedom. And before I block you, good luck in life looser.
Its 2022 and we're keeping these vintage skis alive . They dont make them like this no more. Great video
