Great information! Thank you. I like the advice about using some grease on the bellow. Like you mentioned, those green bellows are stiffer than the oem red ones. I believe they also added updated springs that need to be used with the green bellows.
My old 670 ho motor has a spring steel wire clamp(similar to fuel line clamp) holding small end of bellow onto shaft...I've had many Rotax engines over the years, I've seen zip ties....safety wire...spring style... My bellows are the black stiffer ones, not sure if original or aftermarket...
Bought 2 2001 RX DI's and when I pulled the motor/ top end, i found that these RAVE valves were catching the piston like you said. So must have been bored. Now i'm looking for a person or engine to replace.
Maybe but usually when they stick you lose top end power band ..like can't get 5500 rpm sort of thing. Bogging is usually a fuel delivery issue and often because the carbs need to be rebuilt
Ahhh. Not the carb then I guess lol. I'm afraid I don't know much about DI/RFI. I've heard people talk about low fuel pump pressure ..which I could see.

Thanks for that tip on the spring ..I didn't know

I've pretty much settled on zip ties and file the corner to round it out so it doesn't poke a hole in the belows like the OEM metal ones do
Great video! Your hand wounds look like mine 90% of the time. lol :)
Lol I'm pretty accident prone like that. I try to wear gloves more often when working on stuff

Sadly it's a common oversight to not trim those guillotines back 1mm.
i lost my small spring, any recomdations on how to get a new one or if I even need one?
You can try eBay or .. I used a zip tie
If these are bad, could it cause the motor to bog down on acceleration?

I lost my compression spring when I pop the cap. Im an idiot.
I did that too. Looked over the floor for an hour. It had fallen down near the manifold. Check there
Il mio Rotax 787 ha difficoltà di accensione la causa potrebbe essere questa valvola?
@@yurimantegazza4065no the valves are only for tuning the power band and nothing to do with starting or idle
@@jonparkmac ok. Thank you 👍
