That’s what I do. Or often times if I don’t want to use a vitamin C serum, I just moisturize. Learned that stripping my face of my natural oils in HS was not good 🤣🤣I use the Ava Naturals one, and it also has salicylic acid in it. Is it normal that it will break me out? I’ve taken it out of my routine, and my face is much clearer now, but Ik that SA will bring gunk out

Me personally I do cleanse my skin in the morning and it's not negotiable. I did try twice to just splash water and another morning with a cold washcloth and I seriously did not like the feeling of my skin all day long at work (combination skin) even in winter. It felt like an accumulation of my night products and my morning products. It was just too much. So I prefer to gently cleanse my skin and feel fresh and clean for the day.

It feels so gross and uncomfortable and I end up breaking out, too. I just can’t get over feeling like I’m layering more product on top of grease. honestly my skin hates cleansers, i had always checked the ingredients before purchasing a cleanser, non comedogenic, no essential oils, no alcohol, non fungal acne stuff no this no that u name it. But when i used that supposed to be "safe" cleanser, my skin would either break out or become "bumpy", clogged pores everywhere.
and now im thankful that ive finally found my way to cleanse the face, i only use garnier micellar water (the pink one is the best for me due to the good and simple ingredients), then i splash my face with plain water and thats it (then followed with toner and moisturizer).
i do this every am and pm and my skin has never been this clean and soft. cuz for me, textured or bumpy skin is my #1 pet peeve so finally achieving a clear and soft textured skin is my greatest achievement yet!

My only issue is in the morning I only wash my face with water and no cleansers as my skin is sensitive and dry, but I am worried that when I apply sunscreen in the morning it is not forming the proper layer of film it needs to form with my skin to provide that sun protection??? Due to the Vaseline being an occlusive and not letting the sunscreen inside?? So should I be washing my face with a proper cleanser in the morning to remove the Vaseline off my face before applying sunscreen in the morning??? I wash my face with Cerave hydrating bar face soap in the evening and in the morning I only use warm water..have done for decades b/c I was stripping my skin doing it twice a day.. I use the Cerave face bar at night b/c it's the only face cleanser that did not leave my face feeling too tight and irritated.

I’m black. We use oily products in our hair & wash it every 2 weeks and I have acne prone skin. If I don’t wash my face in the morning after sleeping on a oily pillow i breakout…

I'm on the oily side and I cannot really imagine applying serums and creams on my skin after night without washing off the excess oil first. How can plain water take that off? I think the golden mean for us the oily squad would be using a gentle cleanser like a squalane one.

Oily people is better of doing a gentle wash in the morning. Not just splashing water. Also, chances are if you are oily you have something else going on like acne, at least blackheads, so you are better off washing your face and doing your morning actives on a clean face. It’s hard for people with dry or normal skin to comprehend.
