She takes the new Mercedes-Benz GLB (2020) for a day of city driving with a fun detour through muddy off-road terrain - a flashback for the native Namibian, who learned to drive all-wheel vehicles around her family ranch at a young age.
While its exterior design already hints at the inherent DNA of the classic Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the interior of the new Mercedes-Benz GLB wows with a spacious cabin, room for seven people, a stunning level of comfort and up to 1,805 litres of luggage compartment capacity.
Follow along as Leonie discovers the fully digital cockpit including MBUX with “Hey Mercedes” voice control and augmented reality navigation as well as intelligent safety and assistance systems coming from higher tiers. Oh, and did we mention the built-in spa treatment? Nobody said a car that can go off-road would need to go without the innovative luxuries that make life easier.

@@MercedesBenz I picked up my brand new GLB on 22/07/22. It is a beautiful car and drives really well, however, there is one very, very disappointing thing with it! There is no automatic tailgate - why? It is a very heavy door and having no automatic option is terrible. Even my old previous GLA had it.
You harp on about practical the car is but you gone directly against what you are saying about this car.
Why have you done this? I have paid enough money for it and I just can’t believe it doesn’t have thus options. It has really spoilt my excitement of buying the vehicle. I am not happy at all.

I am hoping there is more of this in the future-even with other SUVs like the GLA, GLC, GLE, and the others. I love watching off-road videos with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Going off-road in luxury. When I buy my dream SUV, I am taking it off-road with the E-active Body Control. 😎
That thing would break down in real offroad, all the car did was go over light trails that even a Lowered supercar can do, it’s fucking trails. Not rock crawling or big sand dunes.

I have never seen this car on road, so I had no idea how big it will be and when I saw this vehicle I was nicely surprised. From outside it was looking phenomenal as well as in the interior. It was spacious, practical and I really liked it. However the other things were below my expectations. First of all it's seats. I will never understand why european car maunfacturers make so uncomfortable seats. I was even more surprised that even in other and much more expensive Mercedes cars such as GLC, GLS seats were as poor as in GLB. Even my girlfriend's used VW Polo has little bit better seats. And second thing I am really scared about is the engine configuration you can buy. I am not demanding and for me even the most basic engine would do the job. We are talking about 1.3L petrol engine with turbo charger. You also have diesel variant 2.0L turbo charged with aluminium engine block. It also has catalytic converter in engine bay, DPF filter and other technology which should help reduce CO emissions. I fully understand that car manufacturers on European market are forced to make engines which produce lower and lower amount of CO, but nobody cares about reliability. I know it's not Mercedes's fault, but I dont want to buy product which will last 8-10 years and then it will break down. My 2001 Chrysler Grand Voyager with 2.5L CRD engine without DPF filters and other modern crap still has the original engine and transmission after covering 343000 km! And I am still not convinced that Mercedes-Benz GLB will be able to survive for 20+ years even when I will make service checks regularly. It's still very nice looking car though :)
