I love the wholistic approach of this routine. Not just static stretching but also moving through your range. I use this routine in the morning because it's not all about pushing limits but also working within them to make your body happy and comfortable.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the years. If I remember correctly, I believe you have all three of my courses. It means a lot and I hope you enjoyed the stretching routine :)
@@donavantkd Thank YOU for generously sharing your knowledge with us! I’ve learnt a lot from your courses. I hope I could be as flexible as you are one day. I am especially grateful for your work since I’ve seen a lot of holding back in teaching in seminars held by Korean masters. This makes me just this little bit more thankful for other Taekwondo practitioners sharing their experience selflessly. Please keep up the great work and wish you every success as a creator and an entrepreneur! 💪🏻🦶🏻👊🏻🥋
I've been following you on Instagram for a while, and I love your content! Finally decided to try out some of your follow along videos, and I love them! I'm a third dan and my flexibility is... not at a third dan level... But your content is helping me change that, thanks so much! 💪🏼🥋♥️
:D I saw my review!!! The review is 100% genuine and the functional flexibility program is worth it! Thank you again Donovan for such an great program! You're amazing! :)
It's reassuring I don't have to do those sadistic stretching techniques from the east. If you can do it I can too. Flexibility and stability have always been an issue for me when it comes to taekwondo
Nice video as always!!! Donavan I have a "strange" question, I can do the splits, however, I spend 2 or 3 days without doing it again due to the pain, it is strange because I already manage it completely, but my body apparently does not respond quickly to recovery! This kind of discourages me, because if I stay more than 3 days without doing the splits, it is practically impossible to reach it again, I find this very strange! What is your opinion? Should I do the splits every day (in a shorter amount of time), or do I continue on this 2-3 day recovery schedule? or just change my workout? * If anyone here has been through something like this and knows how to guide me I will be grateful! :)
Of course I recommend checking with your doctor...as I'm not one. But it sounds like you're stretching your muscles cold and/or are only doing static exercises. It's important to mix dynamic stretches throughout your stretching routine like I did in this one. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the video! Quick question, when doing side to sides obviously your legs are at 90° to you body, but for those of us with a less wide split (still at 45°) should I still go left and right at 90 or go inline with my legs? Hope the question makes sense!
Hey Donovan, im a second degree black belt in my school where I train and I'm having real bad flexibility issues. I had stopped training for a while due to my heavy work schedule and I just can't seem to break the stiffness problems in my legs. Like I can't get past 90° for nothing. What are your suggestions for me to achieve fast results by March for state tournament?
Hello... Ive been trying to do front splits and at the 5th month i guess i pushed my self hard thinking i could reach the floor, i felt a popping feeling but no pain.. then after that event i couldnt stretch anymore.... The 5 month progress where i almost couldve done it was gone, i suddenly feel very sharp pain when i try to stretch a part of my leg... Its been 2 months since the incident and the pain is still there whenever i stretch.. is my leg okay??
Definitely see a doctor on this. i had a similar thing happen. The injury is no joke. A combination of rest and stretching helped me personally but it's JUST NOW fully recovered and it happened over three years ago so I would definitely advise you see a doctor.
Do you have a beginner or is your flexibility coarse for beginners. Like very very beginner. I have very little flexibility, partly because of age. I'm 40 and didn't get into TKD until after I had my children. I'm not very flexible and want to be better for my kicks and TKD moves. Is your flexibility coarse for beginners that are not very flexible yet?
If you have any questions about any of the workouts or my courses, I always respond to comments or you can email me at info@donavanbarrett.com
Looks like people in your comment section are too innocent, but dude you seriously got a big ass, wonder how hard you smash the bags

Tempest took the words right out of my mouth haha
How oftem should you do this?
That’s my question too. I am going to start with three times a week and see if that helps.
Do I need to warm up before doing this?
I heard that TKD is a mix of Taekkyon and karate
What should I do if my knees won’t bend when I do gravity splits? Or any kicks
Edit: my knees sound like they are creaking am I alright 😨
I have a question. Can I do this routine everyday or not?
I'm just replying because I also have that question.

I am also making videos on taekwondo
How could a shorter person succeed against a taller opponent in sparring, tournament, or street self defense fight
God dam... do ballerinas find it hard to keep up with you? lol
