I used this video to do my 2004. Except instead of toothpaste to mark the studs I heated the tips up with a lighter and pressed the bumper against them and they melt the exact spot where you need to drill the holes. Hopefully someone finds my way useful

This seems to be common on a lot of newer cars that are using these urethane bumpers. My 2013 Lexus ES 350 has the same issue and I'm about to put some on mine.

Thanks a lot. The front fascia of my car weights a ton, brackets are not holding the piece as they should, it doesn't help that the car is lowered. This is a perfect solution for this problem.

Great video. But i noticed that with the quick latch in the middle of the bumper end, it was kind of wobbly on both ends. Due to not having a solid grip across. I would not use this on my car unless i had to take my bumper off every now and then. I had broken tabs and used soldering iron and nylon zip ties to repair the tab and holds as strong as they are supposed to. Then again, i already had a $20 soldering iron and $2 zip ties.
How's it holding up after 3 years? I just broke my clips on the driver side when installing my BOV 🤦🏽♂️... I've seen the band one but I feel like they would randomly rip due to do the summer heat 🔥
Bought some similar ones on Amazon around 2 years ago and they are still holding on quite strong. Only problem was that they faded and became a gold color instead of black

How often do you need to remove the front bumper? Why use quick-latches for that? The only time I removed my bumper cover from my car I owned for over ten years is to replace it after an accident. Seems like a waste of money to me - over $60
If you work on your car constantly and add things or need to access other parts behind it... then it is beneficial to have these quick releases since it is VERY time consuming with all the clips and awkwardly angled screws that most cars have at the top corner of either side of the bumper which is only accessible from the wheel well behind the fender liners along with a couple scraped knuckles
@@romagrigorenko Also, and I know this is a bit niche, but my vehicle crosses the border from RHD to LHD countries a lot. Those beam bender stickers chew, and leave goop on the lenses. I want to be able to get the front bumper off and lights swapped in a car park asap and these look like just the job. Handy video, thanks.
I show/race mine and try getting a car on and off the trailer without removing the bumper or destroying $1200 in bumpers. Car has 6 inches of clearance.
Lol dude the bumper on the S550 mustang has a ton of nuts and bolts under the hood that need to be taken off it’s not being held by only two quik latches on each side 🤣
@@abaddonguecubu6588There’s a bunch of tabs and bolts and screws that support a bumper. These are just to replace the broken screws/tabs on the side. I guess you can technically hold a bumper up with nothing but quick releases, but that’s pretty situational & dangerous
Baffling??!!! Why would someone want a quick release bumper?? 50 bucks EACH to make an easy to steal bumper... Why not just use a big lag bolt?? Maybe a gate latch??
this only takes off the hard to reach bolt on the corner of the bumper. it’s in an awkward spot on these cars. you still have to pop the hood and remove 8 lag bolts, as well as all the fasteners and bolts on the bottom of the bumper

depends on the car, but you can put two next to each other to help control that. i don't think it'll be easy to do that with the S550 though

My car is notorious for bumper tabs breaking. It’s either getting a new bumper $500+ or a quick latch for $60
