For those that don't like the look of the quick latch, you can salvage the piece by impregnating the bumper and lip piece with some fine mesh from a food strainer and a flat tip soldering iron. Doesn't add thickness if done correctly and pretty rigid.
I cut out the hole with a knife because I didn’t have a big enough drill bit 😂 it was off a little but looks better than the bumper sticking out on my mustang
As usual a well made video. Thank you. Bill, have you heard anything about a Ford Performance Power Pack 2 for the 2018 Mustangs? 2018 production is over and still no Power Pack 2.
Am I correct in saying this issue doesn't apply to 2018-23 "Gen3" cars? .... I've only seen the 15-17's with the issue. IMO, major fail on Ford's part, and I'm surprised someone hasn't come up with a solution that keeps the car looking stock.
The springs will make it easier to remove but I don't feel they are needed. For something like a hood yes since you open it often but you probably aren't removing your front bumper that often.
Bro you don’t have to get a quick latch just go to your local body shop and they’ll simply apply some black glue let it dry and it works great for only 20 bucks
I installed these on my 16 GT, however i wasn't able to retain the black rectangular support bracket. When i try to install/keep it it pushes my bumper too far out and prevents the latch from engaging and getting a flush install. Without it, it seats perfectly and aligns they way it should. Any suggestions?
Make sure the bracket is seated properly and not sticking up because of the pin. The bracket is not 100% necessary but usually provides a better surface for alignment.
Got the same installed on my 16 S550 but my installers didn't use lock tight and I'm constantly having to re-tighten the quick latch! Now even the quick release features isn't releasing from the base and on stuck mode!
Just because there’s a quick latch on the side of the bumper doesn’t mean you can take off the bumper easily… there’s like 8 screws up top, 10 on bottom and numerous push pins everywhere lol

Wow these quik latch kits blew up, when I got mine installed it wasn't seen much now I see everyone with them. These latches are amazing!!!
Can these be used on a 2014 ?
@@quany9113 yes
The description for this video should be revised. This install and product will not work on 2018+ as the brackets are similar but not quite the same.
How do you fix the 2018+ with this issue?
I think you need a bigger band on that watch.
I cut out the hole with a knife because I didn’t have a big enough drill bit 😂 it was off a little but looks better than the bumper sticking out on my mustang
My rear bumper clips are weak, is this possible on the rear?
Cool! Nice install video!
As usual a well made video.
Thank you.

Dang where was this vid when my dad bumped my bumper on a pole a while back, my bumper came loose at the same spot he's putting the latch.
Another great video. Thanks Bill
Is it possible to purchase a factory clip.
Hey i just bought the 1.5" diameter one. Which step drill bit will I need to for the bumper hole? Thanks

Correct! Ford made a change to the bumper design on the 18-23 GT and Ecoboost that is way less prone to damage.
There is a zip tie fix that works well and leaves the car looking stock. Proven to hold up to high speed and all.
Do you have to use thread lock also on the hood pins?
Will it work for a 2014 GT ?
Definitely needed this! Great video!
Saved me a lot of money!
Hey, Bill. I'm in the market to buy the quik-latch for my s550. Would I need the assist springs as well or will I get by? Thanks!

@@cjponyparts 10-4! Thanks! Placed my order last week on the latches.

@@renegarcia7591 Already have the latches. Doesn't look bad on a black vehicle so no complains here.
@@ToxicatedValentine link please. Can't find em on site

Just installed on our 2017, had the same issue and shaved down the plastic bracket with a dremel and a sander. Fiddly but fits much neater

I barely can see anything. A brighter car would have been better in sense of a install vid.
Al year
They used black because black on black isn't as noticeable & hidious looking as most all other colors will be.
We used black because that was the car that had a broken bumper.
Bill Tumas do a white one so we can see how that looks 😁
I imagine they didn't just break the bumper of this car for the purposes of making an install video lol. This is likely what they had.
Why not use Dzus tabs like a pro? And a lot cheaper!!!
Beautiful
Hey Welcome to your channel I have a question What is the best type after Mustang Shalaby? How many prices in America are used?
33
Option 3, Zip ties
I have a inch gap cause my clips are broken and they won’t line up
Option 3 use jb weld and never brake like I did still on after 2years
Jose Velasquez please explain more
Now can weld the plastic on any bumper you can buy a weld kit and fix you bumper and it’s like nothing happen that’s how it looks like after
Damn wish I knew about this 2 months ago. Just replaced the bumper .... $700 after parts and paint
Kevin Manuel damm. I was literally thinking of doing the same and TH-cam just saved me a ton of money! Sorry about the big expense
100% there will be a man that will steal your bumper :D

Song name?
Sounds like Jimmy Kimmel
I would figure a way to zip tie it or SOMETHING else before all that. Just not a fan of how that looks. At all…
Can this be used on a s197 ?
