So much great, free content like this in AMS2. This style of car and track combo is where the game excels, along with all the classic open wheel race cars. The ai has come on loads since early access and coupled with the fantastic weather system & day/night cycle AMS2 is a go to racer for a single player gamer like myself.
That was great Mike, very atmospheric, what a lovely circuit. Interesting thing about the car feeling light, I remember Jake from GPLaps saying some cars feel better when loaded with fuel but as the fuel used up they would start washing out.
Over the years, I've had hours of amazing racing in Skip Barber and Star Mazda cars in iRacing. Low power open-wheelers provide some of the purest driving and racing experiences, hopefully this changed your mind.
Great video. Those cars are nice. 1. Do you also find that the AI performance varies quite a bit from track to track and also from class to class? Sometimes I run circles around them on 100 and then on a different track or in a different car, they blow me away when set at 95 (keeping the aggressiveness constant at 100). Makes it tricky to set up a single player championship. You kinda have to run practice and see where you are and then quit and adjust AI strength for qually and race to be closer to your own abilities. 2. That stuttering - I find it also from time to time. More so if I run SimHub in the background. (Both on my Laptop with a PS4 controller (when on vacation) and on the main Rig.)
As much as we all have the Need For Speed runing through our hearts n minds. Sometimes we forget the real reason we race and that's the SPH. The Smiles Per Hour! The difference here is that zhese cars have wings which actually give you a considerable amount of dowmforce, so the driving experience is vastly different to say, the Formula Trainers. If you haven't yet, you owe to yourself to try DanielKart's custom ffb files found on the Reiza forums. It actually saved this game for me from being uninstalled. One more thing: what's your AI aggression setting here? They behave quite well.
I totally agree Mike. The guys at Reiza have done a great job here. I really love driving these new Formula Inters. I’ve spent the last two days trying to get in the top 5 in a 50-minute race with varying weather conditions and AI set to 95% at Donington Park (starting at the back of the field). A superb open wheeler to learn your race craft as you have to be be precise with your driving style in order to progress through the field. It’s also worth pointing out that the FFB is particularly detailed, and there is good sense of weight with these cars. I haven’t tried this track yet and I play largely in VR, so I would imagine that this circuit is going to look epic! Keep up the fab content!
I love this track, will try this out whenever I have the time. One comment I'd like to make about this game after playing it for so long is that I wished the AI had the ability to defend. They still only stick to their AI spline and doesn't deviate from it which 9/10 allows you to send it down the inside of a slow corner. I hope that their coming updates and their constant tweaking of the AI will allow for that later in the future.
@@jrrs8692 not in my experience. That's why I said 9/10 times, there are some cases where they do so but they only do so when you are on their outside for the entirety of approaching the corner, if you are approaching the corner to the inside even a car length back they just back out.

These cars showcase how far the AMS2 AI has come. Much better than everything except iRacing. (iRacing has the benefit of training its AI from billions of laps by real drivers.)
They need to fix the cars that do not work and the random loss of traction issue before they add more content. Very disappointing. I have only seen one TH-camr bring these issues up

Lesser open wheelers are my favorite type of race cars in sim racing. Some of my favorite ones are RSR F3 for AC, VRC GP2 2008, Kunos Tatuus...
Ibarra is such a fun track with any of the south american vehicles.
Looks like a great combo for beginners to get their feet wet. Much easier to control than an 800+hp 200mph F1 monster. And the scenery is stunning.

Love this track. If you have the Reiza pack for RF2, the tatuus single seaters are great fun around there too.

I actually found that de Default+ was BETTER with this car than the custom one. Its gotten really good

But they do defend, you can actually see it in this video at 3:40 the blue car starts to cover the inside line.

They need to fix the cars that do not work and the random loss of traction issue before they add more content. Very disappointing. I have only seen one TH-camr bring these issues up
