Pureblood Moon - 1BW Non-Vampire, non-Werewolf creatures lose all abilities and are Mountains. "The age of mankind has come to an end. Long may we reign." -- Edgar Markov (probably)
Good god, I did not realize the price of sneak attack cratered that badly. Especially considering the last time I even thought about that card, the price of it was almost forty plus bucks!
As an honorary mention for non-competetive I'd like to throw Blood Sun in. Draws a card and shuts down every land ability that isn't a mana ability. Especially in utility heavy formats like EDH it is a nice addition without screwing everyone too much. Also I just built 2 Commander decks including Sneak Attack and Phyrexian Reclamation for some little loopy fun times. One is Rakdos demon reanimator, the other one a Mardu angels and dragons with flicker sub-theme, which also helps with keeping the cheated in beaters.
"Blood Moon is a premier card in hate decks." means BOTH that it hates on certain decks AND it forces the deck's player to LOATHE YOU WITH AN UNDYING PASSION.
@@michaelcollins4534 Great Henge is a green commander staple, but I dont think its ever seen 60-card play? only the "legendary creature" lists so far have counted commander on this channel
It's actually a bit crazy how Blood Moon is the nonbasic hate effect modern gets to have while BtB is a premodern effect. They work slightly differently so they have distinct advantages, but I have seen people talk about how Back to Basics main advantage is that it can be played in nonRed decks, since BtB still gives you a chance to make colored mana if you make more landdrops or had mana up. With blood moon if you don't play around it preemptively then that's that.
Vintage has a ton of instant win hate that Modern doesn't, leading to a lot of decks in Vintage being "fair" decks that win by attacking with creatures and such. Of course, these decks often have Bazaar of Bagdhad or Mishra's Workshop or a bunch of general nonsense backing them and almost always have Power, so fair is relative, but in the format where you can get Fable out T1 and expect to still be playing on T3...
So how does Blood Moon ACTUALLY work? Yes, it shuts down nonbasics already in play, but what about ones played with Blood Moon in play. Do they become Mountains AS they enter, thus preventing use in response to the effect?
Might be my boomer magic showing, but knowing that Fable stands a really good chance of dethroning B Moon from the #1 spot makes me a touch sad. Classic simple design losing to overtuned fire design new stuff hurts a little. So much old gold is at risk of being pushed out by the new.
Good shout. Splinter twin banned too fast to collect more points, I guess. Is why I do not like title 'best printed ever', but I guess 'best tournament points according to my point-system' does not sell as well ;) I trd ieto tell Nizzahon before that bannings have to be a real factor if you sell a vid on best cards.
what about: an-zerrin ruins: when it comes into play name a creature type. creaturea of that type dont untap. so it slows ur opponent deck down alot if they dont have answers. havoc: only 2 mana enchantment. when oppenent casts white spell it does 2 damage to him or her. even more powerful in multiplayer matches. wear down multiple opponents efficiently. mana flare: its pretty much red version of heartbeat of spring. a mana doubler. this is VERY powerful in red because of x cost burn spells like fireball, fanning the flames, crackle with power. they all begin to hit quite hard after mana flare is on the board. also follow up with gauntlet of might, fiery emancipation, fire servant. fiery emancipation: its a damage tripler on all sources of ur damage. a 1 cost lightning bolt now hits for 9 damage etc. its an incredibly powerful enchantment. especially on x cost burn spells. but also anything else.
@@czajda According to Nizza’s replies to other comments, it was really close at 49 points. Is it seeing play anywhere right now? I know it was busted in Modern in its heyday, but obviously it’s not getting points there anymore.
Ahhhh red enchantments, I'm gonna be honest, there is a surprisingly decent amount of red enchantments that are good in my stax deck. Aside from that, I've not really done anything with them. In a way, they're kinda unlike "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
This is what I meant before; about doing list for the best flavor texts on cards in your set reviews. Just look a Reflection of Kiki-Jiki, hrs a RED GOBLIN, but who would have guessed he got his power from BLUE WATER DRAGON! Plus, you do at least 2 videos a week right, one TOP 10 Flavor text for every set, possible, every color IN the set, that would be an easy way to pad it in between set releases. Also, becouse it would be intirely YOUR opinion, you wouldn't need to waste time on research, just look them over and decide which ones are best.
Without playing the video, I'm guessing it's a card with a name that ends in "-lood Moon".

No it doesn't.

I'm surprised goblin bombardment didnt make the list, was worried when we got to underworld breach and hadnt seen it
I'm surprised, I was expecting Experimental Frenzy to make it. Was it close to top 10?
Very close. It has 59 points, it took 61 to make the list.
Top 10 Basic Lands Please
#1 = Wastes
Honorable mentions: #11: snow covered swamp
In my heart the og Orcish Oriflamme will always be the #1
the Alpha version especially!🤣

Love it! Been asking for a best off list across all sets and formats. Thank you!
Meh and the winner is the card I hate the most in MTG; lol at the irony
"Blood Moon is a premier card in hate decks." means BOTH that it hates on certain decks AND it forces the deck's player to LOATHE YOU WITH AN UNDYING PASSION.
if they didnt want the hate, they should have played basics huh
For aggro decks, I like the simplicity of Rancor.
Great card. But it's green and thus not eligible for this list
Ok, what's next? Green Artifact?
Great henge about to be 1
Black Battles
Birthing Pod will probably be #1
How stacked you want the list?

Akroan War so good, you explained it twice!
Red for me is probably the first color I think of when I think of Enchantments.
From wacky chaos, to symmetrical damage, and even Blood Moon.
Calling Eidolon of the Great Revel. Also, I hope Sulfuric Vortex is on this list. One of my favorite cards.
Woah. Akroan war is a huge surprise
Interesting that Fable of the Mirror Breaker even saw success in Vintage. I mean, it is sometimes even too slow for Modern.

The best part of Sneak Attack is the AMOUNT of creatures you could drop in a single turn and swing. One red mana with no once per turn restriction.
Predicting Fable of the Mirror Breaker #5
Out of curiosity, where would splinter twin have fallen on this list before the enchantment in the number 10 slot?
It has 41 points, so not too far off.
I wouldve guessed fires of invention and breach in top 3, i was way off
Fires is a good guess but new

That's not only inevitable, but necessary. Even long-term players like us know that having old cards be the best cards isn't good for the game.
I played more years ago and so my mind went to Furnace of Rath
packed list! thx!
Blood Moon, Underworld Breach, Eidolon of The Great Revel, Fable, Splinter Twin, Fires of Invention?
