13:35 Important detail: Urza's Saga does NOT let you tutor cards with mana VALUE 0 or 1, but only mana COSTS. Lotus Bloom and artifact lands have mana value of 0, but they can't be tutored by Saga.
Agreed, at least in ones about stuff like legendary cards, various versions of a walker, and others like that where there’s specific lore around each card!
NGL I've always wanted to build the jankiest of jank Kaldra decks that has 4 of each Kaldra card (helm, sword, shield & compleat) & Mirror Gallery. Then use the Helm's ability to make a Kaldra token & attach all the equipment to it. I am well aware that would make at least 8 pieces of equipment redundant, but the idea of a 44/44 Kaldra avatar roaming the battlefield w/ 8 helmets, 8 swords, & 8 shields hanging off it's body sounds delightful to pull off.
It's definitely possible for shadowspear to catch up to jitte at some point; it can go in most of the same decks, + many other urza's saga decks, ++ it's just straight up in more formats, with more competitive support from wotc (more points) than vintage/legacy.
I've never seen anybody elect to transform The Irencrag. Literally not even once. One time I almost did it by accident, but I caught myself lmao. Equip 3 will perpetually keep it as a rock forever.
For some decks you do go that long, and it can be correct to transform it. This is more true if your deck has any really evasive creatures or ones with value. Green/White Rabbits for example can get solid value from it with Fynn transforming it.
@@jackvogel701nowadays you get Jitte, Shadowspear, Kaldra's Complete and Sword of Fire and Ice all crammed together in a single token created as an ETB in a single, cheap, (uncounterable?) creature. Ones that can be tutored up. Uh it has other keywords too. So, no problem in jitte /Rant
@@marcoottina654 not saying there’s not an argument for a jitte unban I just think cards like twin or the ones banned for reasons other than power like second sunrise and yorion might be better unbans
Fairly sure equip can target only permanents you control, even if it’s equip planeswalker. Or i might be hearing wrong and you’re not saying ‘even enemy planeswalkers’
an honorable mention for this list should have been Stoneforge Mystic. Many equipment, even ones not featured here (i.e Hammer) would never have reached their level of notoriety without that 1/2 Kor joining the fray ^_^ Im surprised Batterskull and Dissection tools didnt make the list... with more emphasis on the former since I saw it all over the place before O.O Edit: oh... brainfart... neither of those 2 cards I mentioned are legendary... -_-
@@damianjohnson9912 Lol, dude what is even the point of cheating at guessing what number 1 will be 😂😂😂 You're like one of those Reddit people who think every story ever is made up.
It seems to me that jitte probably wouldn’t even be very good in modern post modern horizons power creep. It is one of the many cards on the modern ban list that probably don’t belong there any more…
Lost Jitte's art pisses me off, since it's incredibly clear that either the artist (or more likely the designer who wrote the description for it) has no idea what a jitte is, despite the original being very much a jitte.
You do NOT need creatures to power the Jitte. Energy Chamber, Power Conduit and other cards that use charge counters to power up the weapon and just sit back and do some serious control. Of course you also have Doubling Season which makes the Jitte RIDICULOUS. But that's why it's so powerful. An equipment that technically never needs a creature to use its full effects.
I mean, none of those are ways teh Jitte has ever been used in 60-card formats, so that's why I didn't go deep on little fiddly things you can do with it like that.
Especially with Lost Jitte. Untap land, imagine just overloading counters and controlling the board with a couple of artifacts and the two Jittes!!! Crazy.
There's a visual error on Embercleave - it's modern points should be standard points.
13:35 Important detail: Urza's Saga does NOT let you tutor cards with mana VALUE 0 or 1, but only mana COSTS. Lotus Bloom and artifact lands have mana value of 0, but they can't be tutored by Saga.
True, also doesn't allow to search for artifacts costing a single colored mana.

SHOULD be legendary. Ridiculous value and payoff.
You have relieved me of my confusion
Batterskull is a legendary equipment, just not a Legendary Equipment
Great video as always nizza!!! Can I suggest a video? Top 10 cards with prison effects!!!
Tricky thing is defining prison effect.
@@NizzahonMagic good point, i always think of them as lockdown cards like propaganda, ghostly prison, windborn muse etc. Thank you for responding!
Really enjoyed the bits of lore for each of these
Did embercleave really not get any points in standard? I recall it being completely busted in standard.
I blame Broko
Fairly certain the “modern” points are standard… pretty sure it was never modern playable
Yeah, that's a visual mistake -- if you listen to what I say, I describe it as busted in Standard.
Yeah, I think the modern score is actually supposed to be the standard score? I don’t think it has done nearly that much in modern.
I honestly thought Shadowspear would be #1 by now, damn that card is good. Almost as good as "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
Nice to see hammer time get some mention. One of my favorite structures to play in white.

Have you ever done a top 10 on static abilities?
I'm guessing Jitte, with shadowspear and embercleave as 2 and 3. Tbh I don't know very many legendary equipment
Ngl, kinda wish Kaldra Compleat was 12 mana (since that's the cost of the parts and to activate it)
Have you thought about doing a bubbling under part of these videos? Like cards that are just below the point threshold?
I guess number 1 will be Umezawa's Jitte, followed closely by Shadowspear.
Also, I adore these super specific top 10s, you're the best Nizza!
I’d love to see videos ranking cards in your own collection.
Reality Chip is like the new Sensei's Divining Top.
And just as broken as when the former was first produced!
Top 10 standard cards of all time might be cool
This was one of the more obvious #1's, but I expect Shadowspear to eventually claim the top spot.
Bought 2 packs of Assassin,s Creed last week...
got he two mythics blades, of dark and of light... badass stuff!
Correction on the Lost Jitte, it doesn’t require it to be combat damage to a PLAYER, just combat damage.
Indeed. From how I discuss the card that's clear, but I guess I misspoke when reading it.
@@NizzahonMagic Also, I’m pretty sure that’s how WotC INTENDED the original Jitte to play out. 😂
Here’s an idea for a top ten: top ten two mana humans
Similarly: top ten 2 mana producing mana dork
Godsend was pretty good in standard. I wonder what score it had? Was it 11th?
Eater of Virtue makes me miss when Bonesplitter was legal
Top 10 Cards related to Elsbeth sounds like a stacked list lol
I was shocked when I saw Jitte at 9, but then I went, “oh, LOST jitte.”
I think Embercleave "format info" is wrong... Modern 56 points are probably form Standard 🤔

It would be interesting to see a "Top Ten Magic: the Gathering Cards" list and just give us the ten highest point scorers of all time.
